E G R O E G S T T A W In 2014 nearly 250,000 couples will say ‘I do’ and nearly 10 million of us will be directly involved with or attend a wedding. And as we now head into the start of the UK wedding planning season, The Wedding Fairy – George Watts, prepares to launch his first paperback on Monday 16th September, as a follow-up to his best selling collection of wedding ebooks... The book is being billed as the total-guide to planning a wedding and includes over 125 original DIY wedding solutions and need-to-know essentials on managing that all important big day budget. George Commented; ‘Working out how much cash you have to splash right from the beginning of this process is so important and definitely saves a huge amount of hassle further down the line - especially nowadays when Brides want to put together so many of the key elements themselves.’ Frame by Diego Da Silva http://www.flickr.com/photos/natura_pagana/
The book has an SRP of £6.99 and the digital format is priced at £4.99. Both are currently previewing on Amazon and released Monday 16th September.

yes, you can incorporate that typical ‘festival’ girl next door look into your beauty choices. Simple makeup is the key here- it’s all about embracing that effortless natural style which makes the bohemian theme so stunning. After speaking to a makeup artist all about this look (my favourite kind of conversation!) I have some

Boho Chic allows for endless style opportunities when it comes to your day and
inside tips for all you beautiful Boho brides. Sheer gold eye shadows sweeped across the lid is the hot trend for boho chic and would work great for a blushing bride- the eye shadow could be speckled with glitter or a matte finish as long as it is highly pigmented. Darker shades of gold or earthy tones could be incorporated in the crease or outer edge of the eye however all you really need to finish it off is a slick of eye-liner and the look is complete. Look at L’Oreal, Clinique and Mac who all have great gold shades out at the minute. Cream blushes are also crucial for this look as they melt into your skin and simply make you look like you’re blushing from within- remember looking effortless is the answer. Again there are many great brands on the market who offer such products- your makeup artist will help choose the right shade. Keeping your hair loose and wavy perhaps with a halo braid incorporated will look gorgeous and flowers in your hair are the ultimate way to achieve that festival boho look. Bridal crowns also seem popular and again, flowers can be intertwined around them. A side plait is also a great hair style and the great thing is, it doesn’t have to be neat and perfect. With your natural earthy makeup and your flowing hair, you really

You wouldn’t think food could be funky however think againeven your appetisers and desserts can be boho. The key is in the decoration and whilst taste is the most important, the presentation is what will really entice your diners. Food caterers will have lots of design ideas up their sleeve and will help you create the perfect menu. A starter such as a red and yellow beetroot salad adds colour as well as bringing a literal earthy tone to the meal- this seems to be a top favourite with boho brides. Creative and colourful desserts can be created by adding fresh vibrant berries to the plate and it is also nice to have a trio of desserts- this looks appealing to the eye yet effortless in its style. If you choose soup for a starter, you could serve the accompanying bread in a picnic style basket which can resemble a day out at a festival or at a park- even though these are little touches, it will make all the difference. Appetiser style meals are also a hit, for example making each meal a small selection of different items- this gives a laidback feel and offers your guests more variety. As bohemian is associated mostly with outdoors, take this inspiration and put it into your menu. Rustic style meals do this perfectly and even though it’s a wedding,

the food doesn’t have to be all posh and proper for this theme, so take advantage of that and take a laid back approach!

ROLLING STONE
Boho Chic jewellery is all about chunky statement pieces or a layered effect of necklaces and bracelets which can work great incorporated into your bridal look. Depending on your style of dress, you can choose a few long necklaces and put them together- this will work particularly well if your dress has a more of a low cut neckline. Alternatively, you can choose a choker style necklace perhaps in a rusty gold- the good thing about boho chic is you can really step out of the stereotypical bridal look and create a really cool style while still looking feminine. You can team this with a set of metallic bracelets or one sole chunky piece which again, is ultra fashionable yet still pretty. So many retailers are selling this style of jewellery especially as we are coming into spring so check out some stores for some statement pieces. If you are going for stand out necklaces or

bracelets, keep the earrings simple such as small gold studs as you do not want to take away from the main aspects of your outfit. However if you fancy the earrings being centre stage, then why not choose feather style earrings which would look fabulous if your hair is down. Just think hip, festival style jewellery with an added feminine touch and your good to go.

There are many beautiful venues across the UK which will hold and cater to your boho chic wedding. Boutique hotels are a great venue to create that boho chic feel- they are intimate and display ultra cool and modern decor which fits into the funky element of bohemian. And even though we are not blessed with Californian style sunshine here in the UK, it doesn’t mean you cannot have your wedding in the great outdoors (or so to speak). Boho chic is all about embracing nature and creating a relaxed atmosphere and even if you choose a hotel as your venue, you can hold part of your reception outside perhaps under a beautifully dressed marquee. That way you are really capturing the essence of boho yet you have the best of both worlds. Or you can choose to go really extravagant and wholeheartedly embrace this funky theme- remember, your wedding is only limited by your imagination so think big! Somewhere like Wasing Park in the beautiful Berkshire has a ‘secret walled garden’ where you can get married which offers an unrivalled romantic and discreet setting for your special day. A roof top venue is also the ultimate cool location- The Roof Gardens in Kensington is a good example. Once you research further into your theme and decide on what elements you would like to incorporate, the venue is the first step in creating your bohemian heaven.

PLAN ON AND
All of the bits and bobs which bring a wedding together really scream your chosen theme- and what better theme to scream than boho chic! Flowers are a really important component in your reception and if you are having flowers in your hair, match the colour of them to the rest of the flowers to bring it all together. Instead of traditional flowers, use ‘wild’ ones which look exotic and add rich tones which work really well with the earthy element to boho chic. You could also add feathers to the flower arrangements or to your bouquet- the texture of the feathers coupled with the rustic element of the wild flowers is a magic combination. Lanterns are a big bohemian chic wedding detail and would look lovely hanging from your altar along with strands of jewel toned ribbons or more feathers. Being boho is all about being relaxed and not putting much effort into the details. Check out stores for vintage pieces, for example fabrics you might want incorporated into your reception or vases for the flower arrangements. Wedding invitations could feature deeper colour tones such as purples however you can put a modern twist on the details for sure. The designs that border the invitation could be edged in a floral detail or instead of deep tones for your invites; neon’s have exploded onto fashion and wedding runaways alike which will make them really hip and cool. Finally, for entertainment, search for an artist who plays acoustic guitar or an instrumental band who will play acoustic tracks- it will add to the overall relaxed atmosphere which should be created.
