The fayre will be held throughout the National Space Centre giving amazing surroundings and that extra special touch to the event. Welcome to written in the stars………………… I can’t believe this issue has come around so quick, we did the promotional photo-shoot for this back in January with some amazing suppliers, in preparation for our alternative wedding fayre 12th September at the national space centre, how time flies! Please enjoy all the promo material and don’t forget to come along to the fayre 6pm till 10pm, its just £3 entry and children friendly. There is so much inspiration and ideas in this issue and some great features men are from mars being a stand out! Our recommended venue of the month is the National Space Centre situated in Leicester. Perfect for a space themed wedding!! Also the past month it has been super busy with different things we have had a few site visits at the space centre in preparation for our fayre and any excuse for a play around and a few selfies! We also had the pleasure of going for lunch at cuppas of Rothley, Leicester. The place takes you back to the 1940’s with its amazing décor! The food is delicious and the staff are brill, we can’t wait to go again. Oh and I had the pleasure of taking Gemma Gent, the wedding coordinator from The National Space Centre with me to my monthly wedding hour at the eye radio, Melton. She really was a natural and we had so much fun talking about our plans and the venue itself. So enjoy the issue and we look forward to seeing you brides at the fayre!!! MARS Men are from mars- The men are just as important as the women,on the wedding day. For this features, it is all about the men! Obviously there are ways to incorporate the space theme in a fun way. For example funky cufflinks, patterned tie, crazy socks can be a great starting point. There is always the option to reflect ‘space’ in the colours the men wear. A classy well made silver or metallic grey suit can look very stylish and works nice with sky or midnight blue accents, like a shirt or tie. So many shades of greys, silvers, and tones of blues to consider, that are not the flat black. If you feel that is to boring, and feel you need to lift the suits with an accent colour, we would suggest look to the planets for colour inspiration. For the final touch of grooming, and don’t forget your inner space geek..... Why not opt for a bow-tie over a tie, for that inner sexy nerd. Other options can include, the type of cars you choose. On the big day, talk to your make up artist, who will advise you on space colours that will compliment your skin tones, they my consider using subtle glitter or smokey greys on the eyes to perhaps match your grooms suit! St ardust After a beautiful ceremony, the next thing on all your guests minds is food. Creating a perfect menu for your day is crucial. There are no specific foods which are space themed, but there are ways to incorporate the theme. Whatever menu you go for, converse with the food caterers and tell them your vision for the menu, and they will come up with genius ideas to make your meals look and taste fantastic. If your dishes are going to look exquisite in terms of decoration, go for a selection of small meals to show off your theme. You could consider appetisers, a starter, two small main courses and a selection of desserts- or you could have what our resident photographer Michelle’s Bride had at their wedding. “Sometimes I am offered food at my couples weddings, which is a lovely gesture from my couples. The desert for me was the best desert I have every had... it was a buffet of desert ingredients for a Knickerbocker Glory!! We had the choice of, jelly, mint ice cream, brownies, vanilla ice cream, crunchie’s, clotted cream, chocolate fudge sauce, marshmallows...... it was divine....!! I would recommend this for any wedding as each separate ingredient can be themed to your day. Especially a space them, each ingredient inspired by planets!” - Michelle x

To the moon and back- capturing the beauty of space in all of the finishing touches is easier than you think and if done right, it can look utterly breathtaking. Even the tiny details can make a huge difference, for example whilst researching this them, I saw cutlery which was ‘space’ inspired- it had stars or moons at the end of knife/fork/spoon which I thought was a lovely touch and would certainly impress your guests. You could get the dinner napkins embroidered with the same design or have glittering stars scattered all over the table- little things like that make a big impression. Your thank-you notes could be in the shape of a moon or a planet and I have even seen flower vases in ‘space’ shapes too which would look fabulous lined across the dining table with a silver flower arrangement. There are endless options to really give your wedding decor an oomph and up the space theme even more- the more futuristic and eccentric, the better!

I have just returned from my boudoir shoot and I have had an amazing day being pampered and made to feel like a real model!! Your wedding day is meant to be the happiest day of your life! Capturing all of the special moments with your loved ones is crucial. You could have photo-booths to take fun and memorable pictures, during the evening part of your day. Where you can incorporate space themed props, such as alien ears which will make your guests laugh every time they look back on the pictures. You could also have your photography session at night under the stars to really tie in with your theme. We would suggest talking to your chosen photographer, as they will have more knowledge regarding what can be achieved at different times throughout the day. Take inspiration from our promotional shoot, for ideas for your big day!! As well as photos, why not choose to have a video of your special day is just as important. Work with your chosen videographer to style the video how you want it, telling them your theme and ways to incorporate it into your video. Also invest in some selfie sticks! These are all the rage at the moment and you can take amazing selfies with all of your guests at just the right angle!
