Just last week, I traveled to Las Vegas to our company event. I was part of a very select group of who qualified to be taught by one of the richest bloggers on the planet – Neil Patel.
As I was watching Neil get introduced, the MC announced that Neal has one blog that gets about 700,000 visitors per month and a second blog gets about 800,000 visitors per month!
My jaw just about hit the floor! I was blown away!
I am about ready to reveal to you what I was taught! Neil is only about 30 years old, yet he is a multi-millionaire blogger!
Jack Walking Into Neil Patel’s Exclusive Training!!
I’ve been blogging for over two years now, but much of the stuff you are about to learn are new cutting edge ninja techniques!
It’s all 2015 stuff! If you want to know how to get traffic to your blog in 2015, pay close attention!
While the following “on Page” stuff helps me get traffic to my blog, please keep in mind that there are many ways to promote your blog post after it is written. So be sure to visit my blog titled “How to Promote Your Blog Or Website Like a Rock Star !”
So…
Here are the 17 ways get traffic to your blog for FREE
1. Sprinkle Related Keywords Into Your Post Why not go into your Google Analytics, see which of your blogs and key words are getting the most traffic?
In your next blog, use related keywords, to the blogs that are getting the most traffic for you.
You can even go to the bottom of a Google search and use the “Google Related Search Terms”
2. Don’t Burn Out On Researching Keywords! This really surprised me!
Neil asked the audience, how many of you hate doing keyword research? Everyone’s hand shot up. Including me.
He then said “Screw it”! When you are writing a good 2000 word post, your keywords will be naturally included.
3. Focus on Long Tail Key Words Google loves long tail key words. This is the way most of us write stuff!
Neil says that about 90% of his traffic comes from long tail key words. If you are blogging daily, people will find you.
Neil gets a total of about 1.5 million visitors per month on his blogs. So 90% of 1.5 million is about 1.35 Million visitors ALL from long tail key words.
4. Have your YouTube Videos transcribed You can have SpeechPad.com transcribe your video for about $1.00 per minute. OR If you already have a script for your video, just use it. Be careful though, if the script is use for several blogs, Google will see it as duplicate content.
Google will slap you if you duplicate your content!
Embedding a video to your blog is one of the most effective ways to engage your readers. When I see a video I stick around longer.
Some people are attracted to Videos while other are entertained by the written word.
5. Include Cross Links to Your other blog posts It is very important to cross link to your other blog posts, because Google, will rank your blog by how long people stay on your site.
Links to other topics that are relevant to what you are blogging about.
He also recommended to talk about new stuff with old
content. But be sure to include a link to the old related stuff!
If the are clicking from one page of your site to another page in your site, Google gives you a brownie point and moves you up a little more in the rankings.
Be sure that the links are relevant to your blog post. Readers will stay on your site longer.
For example, yesterday I created a blog post about other training from Neil Patel. Since this blog post is about how to get traffic to your blog, I felt it only made since to link yesterday’s blog.
The blog post I made yesterday was “How to drive an avalanche of leads to your blog” It was essentially part 1 of Neal Patel’s training!
Go check it out, it is directly relevant to this blog post. Notice how I used the words “leads” and “blog” in the same sentence. The sentence is relevant to this blog post.
And the link is relevant the my title “Top 17 ways to snowball traffic to your blog”
If possible, it is best to place the link (and keyword) within the paragraph in a flowing manner.
6. Limit Yourself To 1 – 3 Topics On Your Blog If your posts are all interrelated, don’t you think visitors will stick around your site longer.
I use to think I could have a ton of topics on my blog. Not True!
If you are into internet Marketing, Sports and Exotic Cars, you will get better results if these were on three different blogs.
Again, its all about keeping the visitor on your site.
Keep the sucka on your site, engaging in your content before he gets distracted and leaves your site. The longer he stays on your side, the more important in Google’s eyes!
7. Weave “In Content” Links within your post. Neil says that the banners on your blog and fine and dandy, but “in content links” convert better.
For example I provide a free training that teaches people how to get 30 – 50 leads per day into their business. The training focuses on primarily video marketing, but it can easily be applied to getting traffic to your blog.
Even though I have a banner above this post to that training, it is better that I provide it within the link to my 8 step check list within my blog.
Did you notice that I did it twice in this section?
8. Use Out-bound links To Other Blogs Outside of Your Site Be sure to include related links to blogs outside of your blog. It is important that these links go to article that are similar you your own.
Google places higher authority on web pages that include outbound links to other sites.
Google wants to provide a user friendly experience. Think of your own experience.
Would you keep going back to a web site that didnt provide resources to other sites? You will rank higher, and you’ll have ‘em coming back!
9. Notify Content Creators After you include the link out to someone else’s blog, hit up the website owner for a link from their blog.
You can make a comment on a related posts of his, something like this:
“I am your biggest fan! This is one of the most powerful posts I have ever read.” (Flattery will get you noticed)
“The value you provided here is phenomenal!”
“Interestingly, I created a blog post on this exact topic! If you would like, you can check out my post and use any Ideas that will help your subscribers.
“Hope this helps you” PS, If you appreciate the content, please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts”
Be sure to give them a link to a post of yours that is relevant to something on their blog!
10. Be Authentic and Transparent How do you feel when you listen to someone telling a story that impacts you?
Maybe it a challenge you experienced.
For example, at the Las Vegas event there was a woman who blogs about self defense for girls.
Why?
The topic was personal to her, because she said that when she was a young girl, she was raped!
She was transparent, because she cares deeply about the safety of her own daughter.
Do you think she kept her readers attention? Do you think her readers lives will change?
Do you think her readers will leave comments? Let me know in the comments below!
11. Use Case Studies, Facts and Data to add credibility
For example one of my income sources happens to be a system called iPAS 2
By blogging daily, I have earned a part time supplemental income over $47K in the last two years.
Here is an image of some income proof from that system.
This data is largely reflective of my marketing efforts. I am a part time internet marketer.
Does the data add credibility? You bet it does!
Caution! If you don’t have your own personal stats
you can refer to the stats of other experts in your niche. But be sure to give them credit.
I once had a team member that used my own income proof, but talked about it as if it were her own.
This is a big NO NO. Never, Never, ever lie!!
Neil said if your blog is super opinionated, use stats to back up your claims!
Notice also how I also used an in-content link on the image proof above. Click the image and give it a try.
12. Use Social Media to promote your blog
Facebook and Twitter drive the most traffic on the internet! Billions of visitors go through Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
If you have 2000 friends, 10% should see your posts. If not, un-friend people who are not engaging.
In LinkedIn, stuff is shared within the groups. You should submit your blog post link to 20 groups in LinkedIn. Be sure that your post is relevant to the group.
If you are in a network marketing company, you should be commenting, like and sharing each others content.
Be sure to follow other people in your niche.
When you comment and like on fellow members stuff, provide him some valuable content that will help him. Ask him/her to comment on your blog page.
Find new targeted friends on Facebook and Twitter. Add new friends on Facebook and Twitter daily.
Slowly Unfollow friends who are not following. If you unfollow to fast, they will slap you!
In Facebook, Be sure to network and share with others in your niche. Add each other as friends and comment and share to get more traffic.
13. Create a top 100 List of Heavy Hitters in your niche Use Alexa.com OR StubleUpon.com to create the top 100 list. You can also use BuzzSumo.com to find key influencers. Google Blog Search can also help you find top bloggers.
The list must be randomized! Be sure to say that the list is totally randomized. You do not want to upset anyone on the list.
Have a top 100 Heavy Hitter’s badge created on Fiverr.com
OR ODesk.com. The badge, of course, will have your blog URL embedded into it.
Be sure to provide the top 100 winner with the complete html code to embed the badge into his blog. Create the badge with colors that are Facebook friendly.
Neil says he creates a badge whenever he starts a new blog. This gives his new blog a new kick start of traffic into his blog.
Write the website owner. Tell him that he made the top 100 list. Tell him that he is qualified to include this link on all of his posts. He can also share it with any of his content, including content on social media.
Tell the owner that he can add this badge on his blog to add credibility for his readers.
14. Interview Other Experts in Your Niche If you rub my back, I’ll rub yours! It goes a long way!
Ask them to promote you, if you promote them.
After the interview. Tell the expert to feel free to add this interview to your press page (or news room)
on your web site.
Ask the expert to include a link back to your blog from their press page.
15. Email and Social Media Blasts Do you think an Email or Social Media blast will improve rankings? YES!! Email Contributors and Creators of significant web sites Give contributors a reason to include your link on their blog. Post to groups in Facebook, Google+, Twitter etc.
16. Use lower case subject lines in your emails No doubt, if you want to increase traffic, you need to send your list to your blog post.
In your subject line, use lower case letters. It’s perceived as more personal and less selly.
17. Create a post as a Guest Blogger Wouldn’t it be awesome if you you can post your content to
Neil says he does it all of the time!
You Can! More content = More traffic
Neil said that his goal is to hit up three guest contributors per blog post.
Contact the guest contributor (comment, post, email, phone etc)
Here’s an example: Jason, I loved your post on XYZ topic. The tips you offer provided a breakthrough in my business. I am getting better conversions.

Have Jason introduce you to his editor.
