Do Not Skip This Part, It is Essential! Don’t worry, you don’t have to have an engineering degree from M.I.T to cash in on this gold! So… pay close attention because, your livelihood will depend on it!

So here it is…

How to watch your Numbers and Track Your Keywords!

Neil Said… There are some tools that Google provides that you cannot ignore!

1. You Must Connect Your Google Webmaster tools with Google Analytics Most online marketers are aware of Google Analytics but they often ignore the free Google Webmaster Tools. I’ll admit, I use to ignore Webmaster tools because I thought they would cost me a ton of money. Don’t make the same mistake I did! It’s free and you gotta have it!

This is your chance to learn from your mentors (and not from your mistakes)

Neil said that with Webmaster tools you can see the keywords you are ranking for as long as you have Google Analytics connected with Google Webmaster tools. This is how you connect Webmaster Tools with Google Analytics: Open a Google Analytics account (if you have g-mail, you can do this) Click on “reporting”. In your side bar click on “acquisition”, then “Search engine optimization”, then “queries”. (if you are not connected, this is where Google Analytics will ask you if you want to be connected with Google Webmaster Tools). So… I went ahead and set all of this stuff up on my own system. This is what I found…

When your Google Analytics is connected with Google Webmaster tools, you will see your: Keywords, positions,

impressions, and your click-through rate. Neil said, “ find keywords you are ranking for and start communicating with key influencers”. Create a blog posts or several posts around the high ranking key word. Now he uses Ahrefs.com to find top influencers who ranks for that key word. Next Try to hit them up, and say something link this: ” I think your audience will find this info useful. If you would link to us, that would also be great”! If you want to see what else Neil said about Keyword research, you have check out The Top 17 Ways To Snowball Traffic To Your Blog For Free!

2. Use The Skyscraper Technique: The sky is the limit on this one! Go to buzzsumo.com. See who creates the best content for your key word. Type in the key word that you are competing for. BuzzSumo will show you who is competing for the key word best. It shows who is the most popular based on facebook shares etc. Then create content that is much more detailed than what your competition is providing. Take the top three blog posts of the influencers you chose, then write content that is more detailed and better. Go to Ahrefs.com - See who is linking to those sites, hit them up.

3. Broken link building Do a Google search for “Broken link checker”. Download a broken link checker tool. It shows links going to broken links all over the web.

Go to Archive.org – Put in the URL that links to the broken Link,

View the old broken link page and create a better version of it.

Email all of the web site owners that link to the broken link and see if they will replace the broken link with your link.

Let them know that they have been linking to a website that is dead and it will hurt their rankings unless they replace it with a better link.

Say something like “If you replace the dead link with my better live link, it will help your rankings. Google doesn’t like it when your blog links to a dead site that doesn’t exists. Would you consider replacing the dead link with a better link?” Here are the three resources below again: Ahrefs.com – Find out who is linking to you and who is linking to your competitors Buzzsumo.com – Shows you the most popular content for that key word. Do a Google search for “broken link checker” tools. They will show you broken links around the web. Johnathan Cronstedt Fires away questions at Niel Patel This is the part that got exciting! Johnathan: Neil, if you were brand new, never blogged before, which three blogging tactics would you use?: Neil’s Answers (4, 5 and 6 below):

4. Community Building:

Be open and transparent You will bond with more people and create more traffic. If you want to learn how to create a community around your blog, check out my post called “How to drive and avalanche of leads to your blog.”

5. Tell your story and become more transparent. Story telling is the newest form of marketing. Transparency = More Visitors More Email readers will respond, You will build report and create individual relationships NOTE: People want to know that you are really human. They want to know that there is a real dude (or dudette) behind your blog! For example, I have a perfect story of a mother who was authentic and transparent in my blog post titled ” Top 17 ways to snowball traffic to your blog for free. She talked about providing self defense courses for girls in her home town. She was motivated to start the self defense program because when she was a teen girl she was raped! She wanted to give girls the chance to protect themselves if the situation presented it’s ugly head. Do you know of a situation in your own life when you were motivated to help someone because of something that shook up your life? Let us know in the comments below! This is the kind of stuff that touches people’s hearts!

6. Create exceptionally detailed content The more thorough and the more detailed, the more you help people with it, pictures and all. I talk more about the essentials of good blog content on my posts titled “ How to Drive An Avalanche of Leads To Your Blog) Johnathan: What are three mistakes you have made in the past that you would avoid now: Neil: I would avoid…(7,8 and 9 below)

7. Inconsistency: At first I would blog for a whole month consistently. My traffic was great, but then I skipped a

whole month. But it took three months to get his traffic back up to where it was before. Always be consistent. It is the one thing that kills most bloggers. This is stuff that other experts on wealth creation have talked about.

8. Publishing content that I wasn’t 100% proud of (or passionate about). If your heart is not into it, your readers will see it and your traffic will slow down. Heart = more shares= more comments = more social shares.

9. Not picking a niche (I spread himself too thin)? I have been guilty of this in the past. In fact on this very blog, I probably have too many topics. In time I am going to put other posts, like sports, on a completely different blog. Avoid making a strictly “personal blog”. A personal blog might be fun and exciting for other family members, but they probably will not get much traffic. Jonathan: Which mistakes do you see as being most common? Neil: (10, 11 and 12 below)

10. Quality is poor. Poorly written articles. People are not writing in a conversational tone (you and I)

11. Not asking questions within the blog post. Use open ended questions frequently. For example: How has this blog provided value to your business? In what ways can you implement these blog tips into your own marketing?

12. They don’t make their blogs easy to read. Your blog must have an Intro, Body and Conclusion Label your body with subheadings, Make paragraphs no more than 5 or 6 lines. Not enough detail in blog post.

Create a numbered list type blog out of your content

From a Michelle: How should bloggers provide value driven content?

Neil’s Answer:

13.The next day after writing the post, re-read it. Ask yourself: If I were a new reader, could I actually easily implement what was taught step by step? Overly clarify every little step. Can you follow every step. Have someone proof read, then questions them on details.

From Kevin: What three things would you advise a new person, in order to create a community around their blog? Neal: (14, 15 and 16)

14. Get opt in email Provide a give away, like a free ebook etc.

15. Buy $10 worth of traffic from Stumbleupon.com Click here to see my other blog marketing training on StumbleUpon.com

16. Create a Top 100 Badge

Create a top 100 List Use 99Designs.com or Fiverr.com Embed your link to your blog or web page on the badge. Invite the top 100 to put the badge on their site

This Question Was From multiple listeners: How did you choose your niche for your blog and what to focus on? Neil’s Answer:

17. Find something you truly love…

How did you create such great credibility? Neil’s Answer:

18. I created exceptionally great content! How do you keep things personal and transparent? Neil’s Answer:

19. Keep everything Conversational! Use “You” and “I” a lot. Write as if you were talking to your best friend. Ask open ended questions!

20. Share the good stuff and the bad stuff. To tell you the truth, I don’t always like talking about the bad stuff. But… I will talk about the bad stuff, if it will help someone else have a better life.

I don’t know about you, but I feel that when I talk about my trials AFTER I have gone through them, they seem to have a more powerful impact in another person’s life. For example, if you are a marketer, don’t talk about your failures while you are going through them. My story has a much greater impact AFTER I have done through the failure! Chances are, I learned something from the failure. Maybe, just maybe, someone else will succeed because I shared my story! Do you have other people write your blogs? Neal’s Answer:

21. No, it comes back to passion. You need heart and passion in your posts!

22. Blog on stuff you love.

I love talking about marketing and the impact is has for families. For example, the first time I earned over $4,200 in my home business, after just 3 months, I was absolutely elated! When I hit $11,100 in my 11 month I was even more excited. My results are not typical because I am not typical. Check out my income disclaimer here. The higher income changed my life! And my family’s life. I even took my 85 year old father to a Utah Jazz ball game, including 7th row tickets! How can you not get passionate about that? By the way, if you want to see the same exact system I use to make money online, just check out iPAS 2! It is worth it! Big Time!! Multiple Viewers: What about Video blogging? Should they have a lot of text on the blog as well as the video? Neil’s Answer

23. Transcribe your video into text.

Google has a hard time transcribing your video when it is on your blog. Use SpeechPad.com the transcribe video into text. Or hire someone on Fiverr. As you may know, I recently did a detailed video and talked about Video Blogging. It is called “What is Vlogging – How to Make Money Video Blogging” In the video blogging post, I take you A-Z though every aspect of how to make money blogging!

Here is another idea, If you don’t want to pay for speech pad, try using a program call “Dragon” (just Google it). My dad, who hates to type, wrote an entire book with Dragon. You just talk, and it puts it into text.

Multiple viewers: Many people are using Mobile Devises to surf the net. Do you change the way you create content for a mobile audience? Neil’s Answer:

24. No – But I make sure my photos and blogs are mobile compatible

Multiple Viewers: Do you create a lot of different types of content (infographics etc)?

Neil’s Answer:

25. Infographics create a lot of content.

Go to Odesk or elance Go to 99 design or infographics.com and have someone create an infographic. Infogram has some infographic software for you.

Cronstedt… What is it about blogging that has lasted through the years? Neil’s Answer:

26. If you are thinking about leveraging any social platform, you should have a blog! Because you can control your blog. You cannot control Facebook, Youtube, Twitter etc. Blogging is becoming even more powerful because of social media. In the past we had to rely on email only But now… You can send out tweets on Twitter and posts on Facebook to get people to your blog. Things will come and go, but Blogging is here to stay. It is your real estate Cronstedt: If you can leave our 3000 viewers with one thought, what would it be? Neil’s Answer:

27. Focus on what you are passionate about!

It’s hard to write content on stuff that you are not passionate about. Pick a niche and blog about what you love. The traffic difference is huge when you blog about stuff that you love.

Conclusion: The Ball Is In Your Hands Now! MOST average blogging marketers NEVER take serious action on this kind of stuff! 90% of the people who read this blog will not take action!
