27 Email Marketing Super Star Strategies
This is what you are going to discover on this powerful post: How to create cash on demand with your email list. How to get your prospects to CRAVE your emails. Subject lines that make your emails immune to the Delete Key. How to avoid the ONE killer mistake that most people make in their emails. How to purposefully use “hot buttons” to capture your prospect’s Attention. Although Blog Marketing, Video Marketing and paid strategies are very powerful, they should not stand alone. You might have a preference for either, but without a doubt e-Mail Marketing is essential.
Why email your list? It’s almost a cliche, but ” The money is in your list”. Your goal as an internet marketer, is to build a list of faithful followers. People who, know, like and trust you. Absolutely, these are the best email marketing strategies that I know of! Bar none! These techniques have been well tested! But they will only work as well as your willingness to take action! So… You can read all 27 points below the video: OR Click on the webinar training below to get the email strategies in detail. Personally, I have collected about 8000 targeted emails (prospects), through my marketing methods. This has netted me about $80,000+ over the last two years (between three income sources). This equates to about $10 per email collected. This is supplemental income for me! I am also a full time professor. So email marketing works gangbusters. (see our income disclaimer) In addition to my own experience, I want to give credit to Tony Rush, Aaron Rashkin, David Wood, Neil Patel, Ray Higdon and other mentors. Their mentoring has provided many of the golden nuggets that are on this blog.
1. Can you recognize the following in the introduction to this post? Hypnotic Language Bullet Points Emotion (fear) Color.
2. How to create cash on demand through Email Marketing It’s Fun – Nothing’s more exciting than writing an email for 15 minutes. Clicking the “send” button and watch commissions fly into your bank account. It’s simple – You don’t need a PHD in grammar to do email marketing. In fact informal is often best. Email is personal Email is POWERFUL Email is the most intimate marketing medium One email address is better than 10 Facebook likes. I remember when I started emailing people to follow up in my internet business, I would send out about 20 to 30 emails per day. They were all the same email follow-up. It was crazy. I just learned to automate everything. Including my email marketing. I soon learned that I can just include one single form letter into my first follow up sequence in my auto-email responder. For more on automation, check out my post “How to automate your internet marketing business like a rock star”
3. Email Structure: Captivating and compelling subject line Impactful and Personality-driven email body Bullet point, attention-getters, etc Simple and clear “call to action” 4. Remember: Everyone checks their inbox with one finger on the delete key. This is why you need a compelling subject line.
What is a Captivating Subject Line?
5. The job of a subject line is to get people to OPEN! Check your email open rates to be sure! Most auto email responders provide open rates. If you want some ninja tips to improve your open rates, check out my post: “How to increase your email open rates” here!
6. Use Emotion (Anger, Curiosity, Surprise, Humor)! “This ticked me off…[Rant enclosed]” “ I hate when this happens (open up)” “This will be the funniest story you hear today…” “You might as well just set fire to your bank account…” “Someone just asked me a silly question…” “Then he looked at me and said “I’d rather you punched me in the face…”
7. Content Indicator (Tells the prospect what’s in the email) LIVE at 9pm: “How To get More Leads” Video: I shot this from my balcony in Costa Rica PIC: Would you like your Inbox to look like this? BLUEPRINT: “How To Earn $3,000/Day With No Phone calls” RE: Your Login Instructions (Good to use for first email of your auto responder…great open rate!)
8. Lists (People love a “Top 10” List”)
“The top 10 Screw-ups to avoid in a home business” “10 Ways the wealthy think differently than average people” “If you asked me the ONE thing to do to become wealthy…” “My favorite 3 methods for creating an avalanche of leads…” “What do Donald Trump, Richard Branson, and Bill Gates have in common?”
9. The Body of the Message: The Job of the body it to get people to take action on something. The email is not about presenting, explaining or convincing. It’s about making ONE simple action…VERY Attractive. Example: Click a JOIN link, watch a YouTube video, buy a product RIGHT now, or take advantage of a bonus. The focus of the entire body of the message …is to get them to take ONE simple action!
What should your body consist of?
Stories elicit emotions. Tell stories every chance you get. Even if you’re sending a straight “pitch”, wrap it in a story or some other personality driven message. A call-to-action that tells the prospect EXACTLTY what you want them to do.
10. Make your emails super easy to read: 11. Make your emails narrow. Even some bestselling authors do this! For example – James Patterson, writes with narrow line and paragraphs that are easy to read. His chapters are only 3 or 4 pages long. He knows how to keep his audience reading.
12. Write in “chunks” Sentences should be 1-10 words Paragraphs should be 1-3 lines Each line should be narrow. Lots of “white space”. Ultra-short emails are great! Remember, you’re not trying to get an ‘A’ in writing class! So don’t be afraid to write like you talk. Examples: open punctuation (sentences that end with dot-dot-dot and then the next sentence starts with dot-dot-dot, sentence fragments (cutting off the sentence and then continuing on the next line), big white space between paragraphs, bolding words or sentences etc.
13. Avoid “passive tense”. Passive tense is when the subject of the sentence is having something done TO it instead of DOING IT.
Which sounds better? “Commissions are paid by the iPAS 2 system weekly. OR “You get paid every Friday”
14. Features Versus Benefits:
A FEATURE is what a product is. A BENEFIT is what the product does for your prospect. Features: “Our company operates in 150 countries around the world!”
“We have a 200,000 square foot warehouse in Salt Lake City, Utah!” “Our juice contains 14 different antioxidants!” “We use a 128-bit encrypted shopping cart system!” Benefits “You can have people from all over the world paying you 24 hours per day!” “You can sit on the beach, while your business makes money for you! “You’ll always be able to get your favorite products anytime you want them. No back-ordering required!” “You’ll lose weight, feel great, and look awesome!” “You can safely place your order online instantly!” 15. Lead with BENEFITS, not features.
Tell me your Corvette has a 455 cubic inch motor, with headers and dual quads. I’ll think it sounds cool. But tell me that my new car does a wheelee to the finish line! I’m sold! 16. Selling is transference of emotion.
Your emotional posture and confidence shines through in your emails.
Write your email like you were talking to your best friend.
Are you being authentic?
Is your personal development part of your daily life?
17. Use “ly” words: Really Only “Only” Minimize the length of time (or money) required in the mind of the reader. Seriously Seriously” Isolates a voice of reason. Isolate everything what you are about to tell them. Example: “This is seriously the best advice I can give you.” Amazingly Certainly Hardly Truly Clearly “Clearly” – Positions you as an authority. Example: “Clearly there is nothing better than what I’m going to tell you to do right now”. Honestly “Honestly” separates everything you said before. It raises the value of what you are going to tell them.
“Honestly, the stuff I am about to teach you is some of the most important stuff I can possibly teach you” Use these as garnish, inconspicuously throughout your email.
18. Use “Bucket Brigade Copy” A bucket brigade is a row of people passing a bucket from person-to-person until it gets to the fire. Bucket Brigade copy is when you write your copy in a way that the prospect’s eyes are “pulled” from one paragraph to the next… …Almost automatically, they find themselves reading an entire email even though they only intended to “scan” it…
19. The easiest way to create bucket brigade is: Impactful, hypnotic language Bold Type Highlighting Writing… in… chunks Attention-Getters
20. Conditioning (prepares people to buy your stuff) Price: $10,000 value being offered for $4997. The value greatly outweighs the price. Pile on the value, the price becomes insignificant. Effort: What I did to get the results. Example: I wrote the blog, I posted it on Facebook, I emailed my list. (They know what to expect now.) Expectation: Show them the page they see after they click on the your link. When you get started, this is what is going to happen. Tell them what to expect. (this could be a video). People are more likely to take action when the know what to expect. For example you can say something like, click the iPAS 2 link. After you click, you will see a video with the creator of iPAS 2, Chris Jones. He will explain how people are making tons of money with iPAS 2. You will also witness testimonials of people using iPAS 2. Next you will be given the chance to sign up for a $7.00 seven day trail in iPAS 2. So click on the iPAS 2 link now. Competitors: Comparing something else to what you have. For example, you can pay $25 blog for a ready-made blog platform, or spend $1,000 to setting up everything on your own. Screen shots: Broadcast your small successes. (always include a disclaimer)
Social proof: What others say about you or your product. 3rd party testimonials: (Persuades your prospect into making a decision) Images Videos (screen shot of video) – Link to an embedded video on your blog.
21. How Do You Come Across In Your Emails Assumed Rapport- No formal introductions. Emails are personal. You are not writing a business form letter (heaven forbid) Write as if you are writing to your best friend. Write like you talk. Don’t try to impress anyone. Keep things simple
22. Auto Email responders Ready-made follow-up emails are not a replacement for your own voice and personality. Broadcast to your list EVERY DAY! Take less than 10 – 15 minutes. You’re not trying to win a Pulitzer Prize. Don’t worry about unsubscribes. (delete the hate mail). Watch your “open” and “click-thru” rates.
23. Story Telling (Soap Opera Style): Soap Opera includes people into a previous story that they may have missed out on. For example, you can include a previous day’s email below a current email. I often do this when I promote my webinars.
For example, If they missed all of the details about the webinar, I’ll fill them in at the bottom of the previous email.
Some marketers include a time date stamp in the email. They can read 2, 3, or 4 emails in one.
It promotes the same message and links over and over again.
24. Polarize Your List:
When you Market to EVERYBODY, you market to NOBODY.
25. Use the 80 / 20 rule.
80% of your results will come from 20% of your efforts (Muhammad Ali Tactic). Jab, Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook Give value 80 – 90% of the time, and ask 10 – 20% of the time. Great marketing puts the Right message, in front of the right person, at the right time.
The goal of marketing is grow a large following of Raving Fans, friends and followers. Not everyone will like you, so focus on the ones who follow and trust you.
These are the people who open your emails, read your content, and click your links.
When the chamber of a person’s life stops spinning around, there will be a time when they open their door, and you will be the one they turn to for solutions.
Don’t be afraid to polarize your list. Not everyone will agree or love you. But they may continue to follow you.
Muhammad Ali polarized the world.
Either you hated him or you loved him.
Few people in the world are more popular than Muhammad Ali.
He still has one of the most loyal following in America, even though he is silenced by Parkenson’s.
27. Which topics polarize people? religion beliefs laws Values visions Muhammad Ali challenged all of these, and made a HUGE impact on the world stage! Without a doubt, these are the most effective email marketing strategies I have ever seen! Bar none! They have been taught by the most prolific producers in our niche. Have faith, take action!
