RESPOSE: Computer Kiosk

. aimed at children between the ages of 6 - 12 years old . to prevent misuse, screens placed at child eyelevel, roofs above the screens to assure that tall adults could not fit underneath, benches have enough legroom for a child, and keyboards only accessible by small hands underneath plastic shield.

. children who had access to the kiosks tested with high computer literacy scores, and improved English and math scores . found that children could teach themselves computer literacy without supervision independent of gender, ethnicity, social class, and education. . 100 kiosks in 31 cities including in Cambodia, South Africa, and Egypt . accessed by 50,000 children
