Creative Strategies
Scope
There are many steps in design process, however there is no concrete manual to it. Sometimes you can spend couple days to come up with a design, but sometimes it may take thousand hours just to come up with one solution. Steps are not meant to follow but to continuously remind designers. 9

concept one, connecting dots
The small dots are the steps for design process. Including identify problem, brainstorm, design solution, evaluate, test, redesign, prototype, build, refine solution, share solution and communicate final result. However, I personally believed that if there is a design manual and if designers use that design manual, every designer will be creating their own order or even ignore but repeat or skip the process depending on their need. And I personally thought that, I as a designer always jump around the steps sometimes repeating the whole process
14
over and over again until I get the right answer. In this manual, 0 is the first step (which will be research or even understanding the scope) and 11 is the last step (giving the final pitch to investor or even just sharing final solution to the public. In this manual, user will connect the dots in order, however as they do design over and over again they will realize that it is designer who can design the process of design. In other words, they will realize that they can draw the lines in the manner they want to.

concept two, drinking steps
I basically interpreted the design manual in a different manner. As I said earlier, in my design manual there is always “Repeat”. Meaning whenever I think my steps are completed and I can really move on to the new topic, it is always not true; either the result or the solution is not successful or even the end user is not satisfied with the result. So, in order to get the concrete and solid concept, I always had to continuously repeat the steps that I went through in previous times to really refine the solution.
16
This is basically a drinking cup that has text in the cup. In the very first beginning, the cup will be filled. And once the designer drink one sip, there will be another step waiting for the designer to complete. This stages repeat for four to five times and at the end when the designer thinks “oh god this is done”, there will be another step waiting for you saying “Refill to Repeat”.

concept three, music note
The core understanding of design process is “Repeat”. And When I think of the word, “Repeat”, the first thing that comes in my mind is Music note. When I was little, I played both piano and violin. And whenever there is a big event of a show to play the instrument, I always had to memorize the notes. And the only way to do it was simply repeating the song over and over again. Therefore, I
18
decided to show the design process in a music note, in order to tell the designers that steps are not meant to follow but to continuously remind yourself until you get the right solution.
