In this sort mind-field, I wanted to show the atmosphere of the pastry shop in san francisco, the Mr Holmes Bakery. After imagining the people, street, smell and the noise of the space, I was able to simply illustrate the visual of the environment. Not only that but also to convey this moment of waiting in a line to purchase a cupcake, I simply listed the hashtag words that people might put on their instagram posts.

There are many funny and interesting facts of the space which I thought could be really interesting if it is visualized into a simple iconography. The facts could be simply the things that are around that place, tenderloin, the homeless, the empty liquor bottles, close sign on the door of Mr holmes bakery, and the gold sparkling cupcakes in the store.

For Nendo 2015.06 A family of products under the theme, ‘back to school’. 3 different products created in this project is genuinely inspired by back to school items such as pencil, paper, eraser and stapler. These common objects became the inspiration and used as a design element. By utilizing the properties of the objects, it provided a humor and friendliness to the products which is essentially ties to nendo’s core design philosophy.
