Escher in Het Paleis

Scheveningen, Kijkduin, het Zuiderstrand ertussen: maar liefst 11 kilometer kust geeft Den Haag iets extra's ten opzichte van andere Nederlandse grote steden en in een kwartiertje sta je in de historische binnenstad. Er is altijd wat leuks te doen: op de Pier, in het reuzenrad, of tijdens festivals en evenementen in het Beach Stadium. Maar je kunt natuurlijk ook naar de surfschool, flaneren over de boulevard, luieren in het zand of samen een groot zandkasteel bouwen. Op de kop van het Lange Voorhout staat het kleine 18de-eeuwse paleisje van koningin Emma dat tegenwoordig is gewijd aan het werk van de graficus M.C. Escher, de meester van het tekenen van onechte situaties. Hij laat water omhoog stromen, vogels in vissen veranderen en mannen eindeloos dezelfde trap open aflopen. Met 130 werken hier bijna zijn gehele oeuvre te zien. Met als hoogtepunt de 7 meter lange Metamorfose III. De tweede etage is veranderd in een interactieve wereld voor de presentatie 'Kijken als Escher'. In een magische bol verschijnen en verdwijnen werelden. In een zaal lijken muren te veranderen en te bewegen en in de Kamer van Escher verander je zelf het perspectief en lijken kinderen groter dan hun ouders.

City by the sea Scheveningen, Kijkduin, and the Zuiderstrand in between: no less than 11 km of coast gives The Hague that extra something compared with other major Dutch cities, and you can be in the historic city centre in just 15 minutes. There is always something fun to do, from the Pier and the ferris wheel to festivals or sports events in the Beach Stadium. But of course you can also visit the surf school, stroll along the Boulevard, relax in the sand or build a giant sandcastle together. Escher in Het Paleis At the northernmost point of Lange Voorhout is a small 18th-century palace that was once home to Queen Emma of the Netherlands and is now dedicated to the work of M.C. Escher, master of illustrating the impossible. He drew water flowing upwards, birds that turn into fishes and men climbing and descending staircases that never end.Â This collection of over 120 pieces includes almost all of his work, with the 7-meter-long Metamorphosis III as its highlight. The second floor has been transformed into an interactive world for a presentation entitled 'See like Escher'. Worlds appear and disappear inside a magic ball. The walls of a room seem to move, and in 'Escher's Room', you can change your own perspective and children appear larger than their parents.

Highlights | Highlights 8 Panorama Mesdag Kijk 360ยบ in het rond en onderga de magische illusie van het zinsbegoochelende panorama van Scheveningen uit 1881. Het unieke cultuurhistorisch monument is een vergezicht op de zee, de duinen en het oude vissersdorp Scheveningen, geschilderd door Hendrik Willem Mesdag. Het doek heeft een oppervlakte van circa 1680 m2 en werd in vier maanden geschilderd, waarbij Mesdag steun kreeg van o.a. zeeschilder Paul Breitner. Het pand waarin dit panorama is aangebracht, werd speciaal voor de schildering gebouwd. Panorama Mesdag

Madurodam

With a 360ยบ view, experience the magic illusion of this captivating panorama of Scheveningen as it was in 1881. The unique cultural and historical monument painted by Hendrik Willem Mesdag provides a panoramic view of the sea, the dunes and the old fishing village of Scheveningen. The canvas has a surface area of approximately 1680 m2 and was painted over a period of 4 months, in which Mesdag was assisted by artists including marine painter Paul Breitner. The building that houses this panorama was built specially for the painting. From an artificial dune in the middle of the room, visitors feel as if they are standing on top of the Seinpost dune (dating from 1881) looking out over the sea and the beach.

Als je nog energie hebt, kun je lekker verder uitrazen in de avontuurlijke speeltuin.

Madurodam Throughout the entire year, the miniature city of Madurodam brings the stories behind the many Dutch model buildings to life. There is plenty to see and even more to do, such as flying like a pilot at Schiphol airport, or loading a container ship in the Port of Rotterdam. The captivating attraction New Amsterdam takes you back in time where you can catch a glimpse of the drama of the 17th century. Step on board of the ship 'De Vergulde Bever' and sail from Amsterdam to New Amsterdam, today's New York. Fire cannons from the city square and experience the choices Peter Stuyvesant had to make in order to preserve the city. Mauritshuis

Het Louwman Museum bevat een bijzondere collectie van ruim tweehonderdvijftig antieke auto's die door kenners worden beschouwd als één van de mooiste ter wereld. Door de unieke verhalen achter elke auto is het museum dé plek voor autoliefhebbers. De collectie bevat echt unieke klassiekers uit het einde van de 19e eeuw tot het begin van de 20ste eeuw. Het Mauritshuis toont het beste van de Nederlandse schilderkunst uit de Gouden Eeuw. Ruim 250 topstukken van Hollandse en Vlaamse meesters hebben hun plaats in het klassieke interieur dat door de zijden wandbespanning, fonkelende kroonluchters en monumentale plafondschilderingen een koninklijke sfeer ademt. Louwman Museum The Louwman Museum comprises an exceptional collection of over two hundred and fifty antique and classic cars that connoisseurs regard as one of the best in the world. The unique stories behind each of the cars makes the museum the place to be for automobile enthusiasts. The collection includes truly unique classics dating from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. Here you can enjoy major works such as Vermeer's world-famous 'Girl with a Pearl Earring', the 'Goldfinch' by Fabritus, Rembrandt's 'Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp', scenes of Dutch winters by artists including Avercamp, but also interiors by Jan Steen, landscapes by Ruysdael, and portraits by Rubens provide a rich and varied insight into 17th century Dutch art. Gemeentemuseum Den Haag

In Den Haag wordt, iedere dag weer, hard gewerkt aan een betere wereld. Symbool hiervan is het Vredespaleis. 100 jaar geleden werd dit paleis gebouwd. Daarmee werd een stevig fundament gelegd voor Den Haag als internationale stad van vrede en recht. Voor wie meer te weten wil komen over de totstandkoming van het Vredespaleis, de geschiedenis van vrede en recht is de (gratis) tentoonstelling in het bezoekerscentrum écht een aanrader. Een aantal weekenden per jaar worden de deuren van het Vredespaleis geopend voor het publiek. Een gids toont dan niet alleen de belangrijkste ruimtes en de mooiste kunstwerken in het gebouw, maar vertelt ook alles over dit wereldwijde symbool van vrede en recht.

Met de grootste collectie schilderijen van Piet Mondriaan en als hoogtepunt zijn laatste werk, de 'Victory Boogie Woogie', de uitmuntende zilvercollectie, minutieus gedecoreerde Delfts Blauw en de interactieve Wonderkamers is het Gemeentemuseum Den Haag van alle tijd. Ruik bijna de zee bij het realistische werk van de Haagse zeeschilders en bewonder de prachtige wolkenvelden die de Haagse School kenmerkten. Het schitterende gebouw uit 1935, ontworpen door de architect H.P. Berlage, is ervoor gemaakt om je al dwalend door de zalen te laten verrassen door de veelzijdige collectie en het grote aantal wisselende tentoonstellingen.

Naast de ingang van het Vredespaleis staat de 'Eeuwige Vredesvlam', omringd door het Wereldvredespad dat bestaat uit 196 stenen uit 196 landen. Zo ligt er een brok steen uit de Berlijnse Muur en een van het Robbeneiland, waar Nelson Mandela jarenlang gevangen zat. Elke dinsdag- en donderdagmiddag wordt er bij het Vredespaleis een carillonconcert gegeven. Het beiaardspel vindt plaats van 13.00 tot 13.45 uur en is gratis te beluisteren vanaf het plein vóór het Vredespaleis. Een echte insidertip!

Peace Palace Every single day, certain people in The Hague work hard towards achieving a better world. The Peace Palace symbolises these efforts. The palace was built one hundred years ago. This created a sound basis for The Hague as international city of peace and justice. The exhibition (free admission) at the visitors' centre is highly recommended for those who would like to find out more about the establishment of the Peace Palace, and the history of peace and justice. The doors to the Peace Palace are opened to the public several weekends a year. A guide will show you not only the building's main areas and most impressive artworks, but also tell you all you wish to know about this worldwide symbol of peace and justice.

Gemeentemuseum Den Haag With the largest collection of paintings by Piet Mondrian, including his last work 'Victory Boogie Woogie', an outstanding silver collection, richly decorated Delft Blue ceramics, and the interactive 'Miracle Rooms', the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag is timeless. You can almost smell the sea in the realistic work by Hague painters, and admire the magnificent clouds that are so characteristic of The Hague School. The exquisite building, dating from 1935 and designed by architect H.P. Berlage, is the perfect place to lose yourself in the diverse and surprising collection and the many changing exhibitions as you wander from hall to hall.

Next to the entrance to the Peace Palace is the 'Eternal World Peace Flame', surrounded by the World Peace Flame Pathway that consists of 196 stones from 196 countries. One of the stones is from the Berlin Wall and another from Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was held captive. A carillon concert is held at the Peace Palace every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. The carillon bell concerts are held from 1 to 1.45 pm and can be listened to free of charge from the courtyard in front of the palace. A real insider's tip!

Binnenhof en Ridderzaal

Binnenhof and Knights' Hall

De geschiedenis van Den Haag gaat terug tot het moment in de 13e eeuw waarop graaf Floris IV van Holland op zoek was naar een stuk grond om een jachthuis te bouwen. Deze bescheiden woning werd op een vrijwel leeg land op de grens van het ontgonnen veenlandschap en het nog woeste bos- en duingebied langs de kust naast de huidige Hofvijver gebouwd; een gebied dat bekend stond als 'Die Haghe'. Floris V bouwt het hof uit tot een kasteel, met onder andere een grote zaal, de voorloper van de huidige Ridderzaal. Vanaf dat moment wordt het kasteel, nu bekend als het Binnenhof, langzaam het centrum van de Nederlandse politiek.

The history of The Hague goes back to the moment in the 13th century when Floris IV, Count of Holland, was looking for a piece of land on which to build a hunting lodge. This modest residence was built on an empty piece of land adjacent to the current Hofvijver pond; this area was known as 'Die Haghe'. Floris V turned the court into a castle, including a large hall, the predecessor to the current Knights' Hall. From that moment on, the castle, now known as the Binnenhof, gradually became the political centre of the Netherlands.

Het Binnenhof, inclusief de Ridderzaal, het torentje van de minister-president en de Hofvijver, behoort nog steeds tot een van de meest bekende plekken van Nederland. Via een van de beroemde toegangspoorten sta je midden in het hart van onze democratie. Neem tijdens een rondleiding van ProDemos een kijkje in de Tweede Kamer. Bestijg de trappen van de Ridderzaal en bekijk alle historische details en de troon waarop Koning Willem-Alexander tijdens Prinsjesdag de Troonrede voorleest. The Binnenhof is one the most well-known places in the Netherlands. Walk through one of the famous access gateways and you will find yourself at the very heart of Dutch democracy. Take a look at the Dutch Lower House during a ProDemos guided tour. Climb the stairs of the Knights' Hall and see all the historical details and the throne from which King Willem-Alexander reads the King's Speech every year on 'Prinsjesdag', the State opening of Parliament. The Prime Minister's little office tower is also part of the Binnenhof and is located next to the Mauritshuis.

Royal The Hague

In Den Haag kun je de koninklijke familie zomaar op straat of in één van 'hun' favoriete winkels tegenkomen. Paleis Noordeinde ligt aan één van de meest elegante winkelstraten van Den Haag. Als koning Willem-Alexander aanwezig is, wappert de vlag op het dak van het paleis. In de zomer is een gedeelte van het paleis korte tijd geopend voor het publiek. Verscholen tussen Paleis Noordeinde, de Koninklijke Stallen en het Koninklijk Archief ligt de Paleistuin. Het park is toegankelijk via de Prinsessewal en zeker een wandeling waard! De Haagse binnenstad ademt nog altijd de allure die bij een koninklijke stad hoort. Overal zie je historische monumenten, paleizen, vorstelijke routes en koetsen met paarden. Regelmatig arriveren op woensdagochtend nieuwbenoemde ambassadeurs op Paleis Noordeinde om aan de koning hun Geloofsbrieven te overhandigen. Dit gaat altijd gepaard met veel ceremonieel.

The Hague is a royal city where you could easily bump into a member of the Royal Family on the street. Noordeinde Palace is situated on one of The Hague's most elegant shopping streets. When King Willem-Alexander is there, the flag is flown at the palace. During the summer, part of the palace is open to the public for a short period. Hidden between Noordeinde Palace, the Royal Stables and the Royal Archives is the Palace Garden, accessible via the Prinsessewal. The city centre still has the great allure of a royal city: there are historic monuments everywhere, palaces, regal routes and horse-drawn carriages. Many times a year, on a Wednesday morning, newly appointed ambassadors arrive at Noordeinde Palace to present their letters of credence to the King.

Prinsjesdag, traditiegetrouw de derde dinsdag van september, is ondertussen veel meer dan de optocht van de Glazen Koets met koning Willem-Alexander en koningin Máxima, de troonrede in de Ridderzaal en de balkonscène bij Paleis Noordeinde. Voorafgaand aan deze feestelijke dag worden er allerlei extra activiteiten georganiseerd.

Prinsjesdag, traditionally held on the third Tuesday of September, has become much more than a procession with King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima in the Glass Coach, the King's Speech in the Knights' Hall and the balcony scene at Noordeinde Palace. All manner of extra activities are now organised in the run up to this festive occasion.

Historie - History 200 jaar badplaats In 1818 bouwde Jacobus Pronk het eerste badhuis op Scheveningen, een klein houten huisje met vier badkuipen met zeewater. Dit breidde uit tot het stedelijk badhuis en het Kurhaus dat in 1885 opende. Naar voorbeeld van de Belgische en Franse badplaatsen kwam chique entertainment op. 200 year beach resort In 1818 Jacobus Pronk built the first bath-house in Scheveningen, a small wooden structure containing four seawater bathtubs. It would lead to an expansion of the municipal bathhouse and the Kurhaus that opened in 1885. The cachet of the Belgian and French bathing resorts served as an example, whereby entertainment also began to play an important role. Cultuur | Culture 28 Beelden aan Zee Verscholen in de duinen van Scheveningen ligt museum Beelden aan Zee. Het gebouw is in het duin ingegraven en heeft zijn rug gekeerd naar de drukke boulevard. Wandel over de patio's en terrassen en bekijk hoe moderne en hedendaagse beeldhouwkunst hier een unieke plek vonden. De collectie telt bijna duizend beelden en enkele honderden penningen. Museum Voorlinden Voorlinden is een bijzonder museum vol moderne kunst, gelegen op een prachtig landgoed in de duinen van Wassenaar. Het stralende witte gebouw biedt naast tijdelijke tentoonstellingen onderdak aan permanente kunstwerken, die speciaal voor het museum zijn gemaakt.Â Zo ontwierp James Turrell 'Skyspace', een ruimte met een gat in het dak waardoor je de lucht ziet zoals je deze nog nooit zag. Museum De Gevangenpoort geeft een spectaculair beeld van de wijze waarop gevangenen vanaf de 15e tot begin van de 19e eeuw in ons land werden opgesloten, berecht en gestraft. Er waren cellen voor armen, maar ook voor rijke, politieke gevangenen, zoals Johan van Oldenbarnevelt en Cornelis de Witt. Bijzonder is de collectie strafwerktuigen die in de cellen en kamers wordt getoond. Bekijk hier de schandborden en nek- en handboeien en huiver bij de aanblik van brandijzers, beulszwaarden en beenblokken. Of luister naar verhalen over beroemde gevangenen, ontsnappingen en beulspraktijken. Maar het is niet alleen spannend! Quiver in the Prison Gate Museum The Prison Gate Museum provides a spectacular picture of the way in which Dutch prisoners from the 15th century to the early 19th century were locked up and punished. There were rooms for poor, but also for rich political prisoners such as Johan van Oldenbarnevelt and Cornelis de Witt. There is a remarkable collection of instruments of punishment exhibited in the former prison's various cells and rooms. See the boards of shame, and the neck and handcuffs, and quiver and quake at the sight of branding irons, scabbards and leg clamps. Or listen to stories about famous prisoners, escapes and methods of torture. But it's is not just a thrilling experience! Dagje Den Haag met kinderen In Den Haag zijn volop attracties voor kinderen! Reis in één dag door heel Nederland in Madurodam en ontdek het Vredepaleis, de Alkmaarse kaasmarkt of het Paleis op de Dam in één oogopslag. Day out with the kids in The Hague The Hague has a wealth of attractions for children! Travel through the entire Netherlands in one day at Madurodam and see Noordeinde Palace, the Alkmaar cheese market or the Keukenhof at a glance. There's plenty to see here, and plenty to do as well, such as operating the Oosterschelde Barrier or loading containers onto a ship. 41 Scheveningen: zon, zee, strand Scheveningen is de populairste badplaats van Nederland. Met het brede strand vol strandtenten waar je heerlijk kunt zonnen, zandkastelen bouwen of langs de vloedlijn lopen. Ga lekker uit eten in de haven en 's avonds bij een strandtent genieten van de zonsondergang. Geen enkele Nederlandse badplaats heeft zo veel attracties als Scheveningen, van bungeejumpen tot kitesurfen. Sommige, zoals de imposante Pier en het immense reuzenrad, zijn overdekt, dus perfect voor als het 's regent. En in de zomer zijn er vele sportevenementen in het Beach Stadium.

Charmant Kijkduin Scheveningen is the most popular seaside resort in the Netherlands. It has a wide beach with lots of beach pavilions where you can sunbathe, build sandcastles stroll along the shore. Enjoy a meal out in the harbour and in the evening enjoy watching the sunset from one of the beach bars. From bungee jumping to kitesurfing, no other Dutch seaside resort has as many attractions as Scheveningen. Some, like the impressive Pier and the huge Ferris wheel, are covered, making them perfect for a rainy day. There are also plenty of sporting events throughout the summer at the Beach Stadium.

Kijkduin is veel kleinschaliger dan Scheveningen en heeft z'n charme. Het Deltaplein telt een grote diversiteit aan winkels en restaurants en de terrassen langs de boulevard bieden een mooi uitzicht op de Noordzee. Even de rust opzoeken? De duinen bevinden zich op enkele minuten loopafstand. De ideale plek voor een flinke wandeling of fietstocht. Of klim omhoog naar het Hemels Gewelf. Dit landschapskunstwerk van James Turrell is bedoeld als plek om vanaf een duintop naar de hemel te kijken. En ga eens op zaterdag- of zondagmiddag langs de Jutterskeet van Ome Jan en Hulpjutter Rob en bekijk hun 'vangst'.

Charming Kijkduin Kijkduin is much smaller in scale than Scheveningen, but that is also part of its charm. The Deltaplein boasts a large diversity of shops and restaurants and the terraces along the boulevard offer a beautiful view of the North Sea. Looking for some peace and quiet? The dunes are located just a few minutes away. The perfect spot for a good walk or bike ride. Or climb up to Hemels Gewelf. This landscape art piece by James Turrell was designed as a place to look up at the heavens from the top of a dune. And don't forget to visit Uncle Jan and assistant Rob's Beachcomber Hunt on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and see their 'catch'.

De leukste strandclubs Op het strand tussen Scheveningen en Kijkduin worden vanaf maart alle strandtenten weer opgebouwd. Tot begin oktober blijven ze geopend. Een kleine greep: De Staat is een vrijplaats voor de echte levensgenieters. Hier eet je heerlijk biologisch met uitzicht op de ondergaande zon, terwijl kitesurfers op zee hun kunsten vertonen. Speciaal aan De Fuut zijn vooral de jazzconcerten. Bovendien is het de vaste thuishaven van kunstenaar Theo Jansen, die hier regelmatig aan één van zijn spectaculaire 'strandbeesten' werkt. Strandpaviljoen Zuid is de favoriete hangplek van het ontspannen deel van de Haagse locals. Hier kun je in de zomer ontbijten, lunchen, dineren en borrelen. Boomerang Beach is een strandtent op één van de gezelligste stukjes van het Scheveningse strand, het Zwarte Pad. The Landgoederenzone Zuid-Holland has mapped out walking routes in the area where the city elites of the 17th and 18th century built their country houses, where they stayed during the summers to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Madestein vormt samen met Landgoed Ockenburgh en recreatiegebied De Uithof een grote groenstrook ten zuidwesten van Kijkduin. Het gebied heeft verschillende recreatievoorzieningen. Clingendael is ĂŠĂŠn van de mooiste landgoederen van Nederland. Het park is aangelegd in Engelse landschapsstijl met mooie gebouwen, tuinen en spiegelende waterpartijen. Pronkstuk van Landgoed Clingendael is de bijzondere Japanse Tuin, die slechts enkele weken per jaar geopend is.

Parks and nature The greenest city of Europe has to be The Hague! For walkers and cyclists, Meijendel offers various routes that take you along the prettiest spots. The Westduinpark has a varied landscape with dense woodland and open spaces, dune tops and bunkers from the Second World War. Together with the Ockenburgh Estate and recreational area De Uithof, Madestein forms a large green belt to the southwest of Kijkduin. This area of natural beauty offers various recreational facilities. Clingendael is one of the most beautiful estates in the Netherlands. The park offers beautiful buildings, gardens and shimmering ponds. The pride of Clingendael is the Japanese Garden that is only open for a few weeks a year.

Rond de Prinsestraat

Het Hofkwartier is het historische centrum van Den Haag rondom Paleis Noordeinde. 47 Winkelen rond de Grote Marktstraat Miljoenen mensen slaan jaarlijks hun slag in de Grote Marktstraat. Het is één van de belangrijkste winkelgebieden en loopt van de gezellige Grote Markt met z'n vele cafés tot het Spui. Markten in Den Haag De Haagse Markt De Haagse Markt is ĂŠĂŠn van de grootste onoverdekte multiculturele markten van Europa. Uitheems, goedkoop, uniek: hier weerspiegelt de koopwaar de multiculturele bevolking van de stad. Loop door het food-gedeelte waar de Hollandse spruitjes gemoedelijk naast verse ketoembar, baklava, sharonfruit, verse vis of kousenband liggen. Kijk je ogen uit op het kleding- en schoenengedeelte en bij de grote diversiteit aan kruiden. Op de reguliere marktdagen (maandag, woensdag, vrijdag en zaterdag) vinden duizenden mensen hier hun weg. Op deze marktdagen kun je ook een rondleiding boeken (zie pagina 19).

Hague Market The Hague Market is one of the largest multicultural markets in Europe. Exotica, cheap and unique: the merchandise here reflects the multicultural population of the city. Walk through the food area where Dutch cauliflower lies happily alongside fresh coriander, baklava, Sharon fruit, fresh fish and asparagus beans. Feast your eyes as you visit the clothing and shoe stalls, and see the huge variety of herbs and spices. Thousands of people visit this market on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Antiques & Book Market The Antiques & Book Market on Lange Voorhout is a veritable smorgasbord for lovers of antiques, curios, old prints, paintings and objets d'art. Bookworms will also love the scores of bookstalls. Don't forget the charming terraces that surround the market. From May until September you'll find the market on the stately Lange Voorhout. Flower & Plant Market Every Saturday, on Kerkplein in the historic city centre, various market stalls sell the prettiest flowers, plants and garden accessories. The Flower & Plant Market is a great meeting place for people with green fingers (or those who wish to develop them).

Antiek- & Boekenmarkt De Antiek- & Boekenmarkt op het Lange Voorhout is een waar walhalla voor liefhebbers van antiek, curiosa, oude prenten, schilderijen en kunstobjecten. Hier kun je gratis parkeren. P+R = Park & Ride Bespaar tijd en geld en parkeer de auto bij een P+R. Je vermijdt daarmee files naar de binnenstad en het kost minder parkeergeld.

Bereikbaarheid Den Haag ligt aan twee snelwegen: de A4 (uit Rotterdam en Amsterdam) en de A12 (uit Utrecht). Vanaf de snelweg sta je met de auto al na twee verkeerslichten in het centrum van Den Haag. Volg hiervoor de borden met Centrumring. Deze route voert om het autoluwe centrum en leidt naar de dichtstbijzijnde parkeergarages waar nog plaatsen vrij zijn. Kijk op denhaag.com/nl/centrum-bereikbaarheid voor het meest actuele overzicht. Parkeren in de binnenstad Het winkelgebied in de Haagse binnenstad is autoluw. Voor parkeren op straat in de binnenstad moet je betalen. Dit geldt dagelijks vanaf de ochtend tot middernacht en in het weekend tot 2 uur. Voor de meeste parkeerplaatsen in de binnenstad geldt een maximum parkeerduur van 2 uur. Dit geldt niet voor de parkeergarages. Voor parkeren op straat kan je bij alle parkeerautomaten betalen met pinpas, creditcard of mobiele telefoon. Den Haag kent betaald parkeren op kenteken. Wanneer je Den Haag bezoekt, kun je de auto daarom het beste parkeren in een

parkeergarage aan de Centrumring. In totaal liggen er ruim 20 parkeergarages en -terreinen aan deze route. De tarieven van deze parkeergarages variëren van € 2,- tot € 4,- per uur en € 20,- tot € 30,- euro per dag. De meeste parkeergarages zijn 24 uur per dag geopend. Scheveningen Wil je naar het strand van Scheveningen, volg dan de borden Scheveningen Bad of Scheveningen Haven. Als het rustig is, ben je er met de auto in 10 minuten. Kijk voor de drukte richting Scheveningen op denhaag.com/nl/scheveningen. In Scheveningen Bad geldt dagelijks betaald parkeren met een maximum parkeerduur van 60 minuten in de woonstraten nabij het strand en in het weekend tot 2 uur. In de nabije omgeving geldt een maximale parkeerduur van 120 minuten en geldt dagelijks betaald parkeren van 13 tot 24 uur. Wil je op Scheveningen langer parkeren dan 2 uur, doe dit dan in de een van de parkeergarages en -terreinen waar je onbeperkt kunt parkeren. De garage bij Parking Scheveningen Bad in de Zwolsestraat, heeft vrijwel altijd plek. Een andere mogelijkheid is de Strandweg. Hier geldt ook een on-

P+R Hoornwijck P+R Hoornwijck (Laan van Zuidhoorn 38, 2289 DE Rijswijk) ligt ter hoogte van Rijswijk. Parkeren kost hier € 4,- en een OV-dag € 1,- p.p. Neem vanaf hier tram 15 naar Station Hollands Spoor of Den Haag Centraal Station en binnen een kwartier sta je in het centrum! P+R Station Ypenburg Vanuit de richting Gouda/Utrecht over de A12 is de P+R naast Station Ypenburg een handige optie. Hier kun je parkeren en vervolgens reis je met de trein binnen acht minuten naar Den Haag Centraal Station. Handig: het terrein heeft enkele oplaadpunten voor elektrische auto's. Vanaf circa februari 2018 kun je enkel nog op dit terrein parkeren met een OV-kaart wanneer je kunt aantonen dat je doorreist met het OV. Je parkeert dan tegen een zeer laag tarief. P+R De Uithof Voor wie uit de richting van het Westland komt, kan gratis parkeren op het parkeerterrein van sportcentrum De Uithof (Jaap Edenweg 10). Met de RandstadRail ben je in ongeveer 20 minuten in het centrum van Den Haag. P+R Laan van NOI Parkeren op het P+R-terrein van NS-station Laan van Nieuw Oost-Indië (Van Alphenstraat 102,

Wegwijs | Getting around 94 Voorburg) kost € 2,19 per uur. Vanaf het treinstation reis je in 5 minuten naar de Haagse binnenstad. Bus 23 rijdt vanaf hier in ongeveer 20 minuten naar Scheveningen. Invalidenparkeerplaatsen Mensen met een Europese gehandicaptenparkeerkaart kunnen gratis gebruikmaken van speciale invalidenparkeerplaatsen.
