A life that is not satisfied with what is before her, but one that is constantly looking past what is known. What is it that lies beyond my front door? What is that view that extends past my parking spot? What is out there that I am missing? While you are learning how to live your life, questioning the boundaries of what we know, exploring interests and commitments, the one thing you can rely on, that every other unique person in the world relies on, is how will you get where you need to go.
You are built to be your perfect you. Your needs are unique, they are specific to your goals. Your style, your movements, your attractions and your thoughts are what make you special. While we are each our own individual self, we are all ingrained with this need to move, to travel, to see what is out there.
I have my unique history. No one other person in the entire world has seen what I have seen, experienced what I have experienced or lived what I have lived. How I see the world is only seen through my eyes. What I feel is only felt with my hands and how I love is only loved through my heart.
I have my unique story. This guides me each and every day. What I wear in the mornings, how I greet my neighbor, If I say hello to the bus driver, or if I choose to share a seat. My life and my experiences are only mine and no one else can understand them. The only comfort in this world is that every single other person on this planet has their own unique story, has lived their own unique lives and make their own unique decisions.
As we experience our days, they are filled with destinations; they are filled with journeys that are guided by maps of interest, or of instinct. But we know for sure that the days are filled with places to go.
We are always moving. Our journey is long and it takes us to places we have seen everyday and to new places we are discovering for the first time. When we think our journey has come to an end, each time we are surprised that we have the rest of or lives before us.
We find ourselves in familiar and in unfamiliar territories. But, we always arrive somewhere. This somewhere can be a temporary resting spot, or it can be an intersection that will change the trajectory of the rest of our route. But we trudge on. We are a species of movers.
Our thirst for life drives us to experience each moment with the anticipation of the next. Where are we going, where have we come from, where is life taking us? While we may not always know how we got here, we will always know we will get to where we are going.
We are a species that experiences the world around us. We smell the flowers, and take in the views. We capture the memories and tell the stories. We share our dreams and we write down our goals. Where or when we reach our end point is not yet determined. Our world may be a city, or it may be full of nature, but wherever it is that we need to go, we can be sure that we will arrive.
The seasons of our lives change like the seasons of nature. While ours do not occur every four months like mother nature intends, we still experience the perfect rhythm of life.
We walk the trails and climb the mountains.
The only reason we are able to walk this earth, and enjoy it is because of our generous mother nature. She gives us life and hope. With out her, we would not know what beauty is. She is our standard for everything we do, and everything that is created in this world to sustain the needs of humans. The colors that surround us are her brilliant design. We can only hope to flatter her with our emulation of her creations. How can we make sure that she has the space to keep her creations growing, and her imagination fluid? How can we keep our mother nature alive and thriving? How can we erase the carbon footprints we leave with every step we take towards a more advanced society?
We smell the flowers and enjoy the sun.
Each step we take must leave behind seeds that will sprout into more trees. Each step must leave a pocket of clean air and a gallon of fresh water. While we use up the resources of this planet, we must leave behind the foundation for growth and renewal.
This foundation that we have taken over is an investment we all must make to maintain our precious planet. The choices we make will contribute to rebuilding our fundamental substance of existence, or will contribute the to continued deterioration of the very platform we stand on. What will you choose?
The architect of our world inspires each and everyone of us to explore its beauty in our own time, in our own way as we move through our own journey.
