FIFTH FLOOR PLAN

CONCLUSION For the final design, optimum daylight and views has been achieved by incorporating the following elements into the facade: 1. WEST: 1250mm wide windows of 2000mm height - with vertical shades at an angle of 45 degrees, offsetted from the wall to prevent heat gain from fierce setting sun. 2. SOUTH: 1000mm wide windows of 2000mm height has been provided with a combination of vertical and horizontal shades, 750mm depth strategically designed to obstruct south sun to penetrate indoors. 3. EAST: 1250mm wide windows of 2000mm height has been provided. No shading has been provided since the windows are shaded by surrounding buildings most of the year. 4. NORTH: 1250mm wide windows of 2000mm height has been provided. No shading is required in this direction as there is no direct sun exposure. 5. Corten steel fins were suggested to be used for shading to get optimum daylight and views as well as an aesthetic and responsive facade.
