appy New Year! Happy 2013
I don’t know about you, but as soon as we crossed over to 2013, a cloud that had been looming over me in 2012 disappeared. 2012 was a very challenging year for me and I’m sure for many of you; however I put it down to the various areas of development I was going through in my life i.e. marriage, ministry, children, life in general. There were some super fantastic moments such as the wonderful connections I made; the release of my 3rd book and generally hearing the positive things that other women and men were doing in their communities locally and internationally. 2013 is a year of establishment and harvest, a year that will see all your seeds of hard work manifest into harvests of establishment and expansion. I would like to encourage you to keep on declaring it and only believe – there is a verse in Mark 11:23 – 24 which says,

“For assuredly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his/her heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he/she will have whatever he/she says.
Woman Do You Know What You’re Carrying? Being Single to Be Married Corner
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask, when you pray, believe that you receive them and you will have them. What things are you asking for in 2013? Do you believe that you already have them? They’ve been in the spiritual realm waiting for you to claim them, but you can only see them physically when you believe without doubt, and in doing so you declare and claim. What mountain were you dealing with in 2012 that has been waiting for you to get rid? To speak to your mountain and see it move takes certain strength of grace, understanding your authority in Christ and a total belief in God’s Promises for your life. That’s why it’s important to:
Make a Decision to Get Out of Your Own Way in 2013 Have you ever heard the term ‘the enemy within’? When people use this term, most times they’re referring to someone in their circles, close to them, someone who may be part of their lives. EW

OMEN STEPPING OUT! Usha Oliver CEO Dare to Dream & Founder of WOW Ministries Usha Oliver is an internationally renowned speaker, and training and development consultant who is passionate about uncovering potential, especially that which is latent. Her motivational style is inspiring, entertaining and aims to encourage clients to ‘look beyond their comfort zones and step out with confidence’. Usha’s previous experience in various roles in government spanning two decades has given her transferrable skills that have proved crucial and invaluable to Dare to Dream. Her role of Communication and Marketing Manager at the Voluntary Centre, Westminster, was instrumental in formulating their marketing and communication strategies. As Training and Development Manager, Usha has assisted in the formulation of organisational training strategies and developing leadership courses for senior management teams across the entire organisation.
Usha’s success lies in her ability to be honest yet positive, and her desire is that every attendee will gain new and relevant information, reach their full potential, and acquire any necessary paradigm shift. Thus enabling them to stretch their boundaries and conquer self-limiting beliefs. Empowered Woman met up with Usha to find out more about what makes her so unique: EW: Tell our readers who Usha Oliver is Usha Oliver is first a woman of faith, a mother, a professional and someone who has a passion to help others reach their potential. In 2008 I came to a crossroads in my carrier, I was managing private prisons and moved over to working for the training and development and did a talk at the away day, I got fantastic feedback it still did not dawn on me to have this as my business, then I spoke again and I received so many accolades. I was part of the women’s issues network at the ministry of Justice and went for a winning women’s conference and one of the jet banners had Dare to Dream below its caption – I walked out of there and knew the caption could be something I would like to have as my business, the idea was conceived within me. I went to a talk with a company called Partner Potential at the Charing Cross Hotel and the speaker spoke about perceptions his name is Kojo Gottfried, and when I walked out of there, there was a paradigm shift within me and I realised my perception of myself was different to people’s perception of me. I began my journal and wrote down my aspirations to be a motivational speaker to influence people with my words. I took my redundancy in 2009 and in October 2009, Dare to Dream was born and I have never looked back since, I started networking and began doing a lot of talks for charities, business meetings and training . Dare to Dream is a business where I do inspirational talks, training and development in confidence, public speaking and presentation skills among other bespoke course. In June 2012 I formally launched Dare to Dream at the prestigious Hotel Park Plaza in London. Continued on page 8

EW: What was the inspiration behind WOW Ministries? In 2004 I had a powerful encounter with the Lord. I was married and as things became unbearable I left my ex-husband for more than 5 years and in leaving I was searching for God even though I was always a Christian I did not have a relationship with God. I was walking my dog and asked God to be the Lord of my life, something powerful happened, the power of God came over me and I began to cry, when I got home I had such a powerful desire to read His word and the next year that was what I did. People commented about the glow on me and asked if I had a man, I could not explain that the glow was an encounter with the Lord. A year into having this powerful encounter with the Lord, I started Women of Worth ministries as I felt that as a woman I can help other women to be whom God wants them to be, The ministry began at home but the fifth anniversary we had to hire a hall to hold more that 300 people as we had men and women and the Lord gave me the name WoW ministries. It has been a powerful journey where many people from different faith came to know the Lord. WoW ministries is “Meeting needs changing lives” EW: How does WOW Ministries and Dare to Dream Ltd serve its purpose in the lives of others? Seeing people tangible change through my programmes, I say I want my words to empower people to reach where they want to be, and call Dare to Dream a runway to success, and it is. Some testimonies blow me away, among others a few ladies heard me speak and something changed in them and the nuggets, the passion and the words delivered transformed them. WoW and Dare to Dream have synergy, I use the gifts the Lord has given me in WoW and allow the anointing of the Lord in my talks. Invariably I am able to pray prophesy and give words of knowledge and wisdom to the market place and that is what brings me immense joy. I Also believe that WoW and Dare to Dream are inter woven and the Lord equipped me to be a vessel to speak life into people’s lives. When I launched Dare to Dream I prayed over the place using Isaiah 61 – to bind the broken hearted, the title of the launch was “No Limits” and there were so many people who felt that they were set free – this is what I do. In November I did an event and it was setting captives free – the title of the event was “Keys to Success”. The purpose of WoW ministries soon to be changed to WoW Foundation and Dare to Dream is to meet needs and change lives .
EW: What advice do you have for women who are fed up with their careers and want to embark on something more fulfilling. I would advise people who want to do what I do, to know who THEY ARE – to value themselves, and to be authentic and have integrity in what they say, to have new material and be different in delivery, values and most important to ensure that their character matches their gifting and skills. Passion is another important factor, when you’re passionate about what you do – then money will not be your driver, the passion will bring in the revenue.. Well that’s my policy. EW: Throughout 2013, EW Newsletter will be communicating the message of transformation to empower women to think differently thereby operating differently so that they can see success in areas that have been stagnant for a long time; how is transformation an important process in one’s life development? I set up Dare to Dream so that I can encourage, empower, build and restore people to regain their purpose and destiny in life. Seeing that happen is so rewarding. I have a genuine love for people and those who know me know that all I want is to build not tear down people’s self esteem and help them see themselves as a valued precious and gifted human beings if I can do that then it’s a job well done. It takes one drop of water to make a mighty ocean one act of kindness, one step is a giant leap for mankind – so my simple principle is to do what you are passionate about – even if this is not the norm – a fish that stops swimming dies , we change, evolve in our thinking and use mentors and the word to be who God wants us to be. I am not the person I was 10 years ago – and I thank God for that – a new creation all things passed away and all things made new. I want to make a small change and if this leaves an indelible mark for generations to come – then I will do what I love. Like the prayer of Francis Assissi Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. Where there is sadness joy.....

EW: What can women look forward to with WOW Ministries for 2013? I want to be a voice for the voiceless, to empower men and women to reach their God given destiny and to leave an indelible mark and legacy for the generations to come, through my inspirational talks, in my training and coaching. My heart is for WoW to be a foundation and help me deliver God’s heartbeat for this ministry which is to “meet needs change lives” build orphanages, places of refuge and to make people feel valued loved and allow them to reach their God given destiny. To be able to preach God’s world in all the earth wherever the Lord leads, and the most important heartbeat of mine – is to make Jesus Real. Love the Lord and love one another – that is what WoW stands for and He has given me Love for this ministry. I am so excited and cannot wait to see what God is going to do and you will be kept posted with all the praise reports. Keep me and my business and the ministry in your prayers. Isaiah 61 is my mandate and I will serve the Lord and run the race that is set before me – ONLY with HIS grace I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. EING SINGLE TO BE MARRIED BLOG CORNER
Woman, Do You Know What You’re Carrying? Every year during Christmas, we have another opportunity to read, hear or watch the nativity story. We are reminded of how Angel Gabriel visited Mary to announce the conception of the Messiah by the Holy Spirit, an awesome gift that is that is a miracle. At times, I am also reminded of the story with this song by various artistes : Mary did you know That your baby boy Will calm the storm With His Hands.......... Reflecting back , I don't think Mary really knew the magnitude of what she was carrying, the strength of the promise, until she kissed her son's feet at the cross of Calvary, yet this promise brought hope, peace and restoration to so many people's lives.
It was when the angel spoke to Joseph instructing him to continue with his plans of marriage to Mary that a family was created; not just any family, but a family with a promise. Now let me bring it closer to home. Ladies, do you know what you're carrying? What promise that when birthed will continue the work that God started through His Son Jesus Christ? BSTM

EYS TO SUCCESS FOR WOMEN IN BUSINESS BY USHA OLIVER
For every women like me who came from a city in India I got married and through that process lost who I was and my confidence.
.
14 years ago I began my journey to success, and started to build my confidence in finding out who I am. This is the key to success – knowing and finding out who YOU are before you embark on your business. For me the journey of finding my faith and confidence merged and I knew who I am in Christ and through the healing and restoration built my journey to success. People will tell you a lot of things about your personality be true to that inner voice – for me a clear direction from the Lord and go with that through the opposition – that is the first KEY to success. The second is to never give up having the right mentors, right people to applaud and help you grow is crucial for success when you are stepping out in faith and doing what you know best – or what God put inside of you YOUR purpose on this earth. When we know that and find that – that is a crucial key to success. Knowing who you are is essential as that will drive you to be the mentor or influence others – integrity should be your portion and passion your key. I love what I do and I do it because I love it – that is what we need as women to know understand love and keep at what we do. I am a 5’1 and a half Indian woman with all odds against her – but I stand 6’ tall and tell the world that the “world is my oyster” and I will take one step at a time, touching one soul at a time and enjoy the ride. That is a key to success. I do a lot of talks and presentation and confidence building courses, I also teach on public speaking, the reason for MY success is I have and my journey my inspiration the roadblocks, the criticism, the words spoken over me that I cannot do made me who I am and I want to sound this out to every women – be the best you are – YOU are fearfully and wonderfully made, do the best you can and then as my mum used to say – put up your umbrella and let the rain of criticism fall down your back. Believe in yourself, surround yourself with people who love and support you and listen to the inner voice – for me it is the Holy Spirit and never give up. I dared to dream and that is what I want for every person. Dare to Dream and live your dream I will be rooting for all of you.
