INSIDE THIS ISSUE Path of Righteousness……………...2 Empowered Woman Conference 2013: The Transformed Woman ..3
We carry so much on a daily basis and sometimes unknowingly others can sometimes take us for granted not because they intend to do it, rather we provide a source of comfort and create a home and as such others expect it from us. We need to be able to open up to each other and pour out what we sometimes bottle up inside.

ello Ladies
So here’s to every woman I know, who has inspired me, empowered me, encouraged me, challenged me to go the extra mile, you may not know you have, but I know and I salute you from the bottom of my heart. I thank God for bringing you in my way and using your gifts to enrich me. God bless you richly. I’ve come to realise that I’m in a season of stillness to receive godly wisdom for the next phase of my work. God surely knows what He’s doing with me, because if I had all the money in the world, I don’t think I would be confined to a spot in this period, so I know it’s intentional so that I can hear God and His next phase of strategy for developing what He’s called me to do. I’ve come to realise that I am His “awesome wonder”, meaning that He takes me through the process, brings me to victory so that I can go and empower others. So it’s not always easy for me to up and leave at the drop of a “pin” or should I say “hat”, I have to bring every decision of movement I make to God and allow Him Lead me according to His Way. Can it be boring? I hear you say, well times like this I realise that I am a servant and I need to get from Him what I can give and if I don’t get it, I can’t give it plain and simple! This season in my life has opened my own understanding to the:
Path of Righteousness Early this week I had a lesson from the throne room about the importance of Grace, something I would like to share with you in another issue. Lately, the Holy Spirit has opened my eyes to the meaning of righteousness and the importance of operating and living in righteousness. EW

OMEN STEPPING OUT! Funmi Adeyi Producer & TV Presenter “Lasting Love”
Funmi Adeyi is one of those natural women, her open and warm nature is very infectious and in my opinion, best presenter of a television show interviewing couples. Since her show “Lasting Love With Funmi Adeyi” has aired, she has brought back the real meaning of marriage and it’s message has enlightened, educated and inspired many viewers that marriage can only get better because both parties know what it is to be in a committed relationship that is lasting. Empowered Woman met up with Funmi to find out how it all began. EW: As a young girl, did you know what you wanted to do when you grow up? FA: Growing up as a young girl, I had always loved and appreciated people on television . I admired broadcasters and practiced presenting a show on TV. I imagined myself reading the news and speaking eloquently. My friends and classmates thought I spoke differently with my diction in place. According to them it's not a surprise that I’m presenting on TV now, I'd always had it in me! I knew within me that I would someday be a presenter. EW: Lasting Love is a programme you host on OH TV, tell us the vision behind the title? FA: The vision behind Lasting Love is to empower couples generally with the necessary resources needed to succeed in marriage with its primary aim to reduce the statistics of separation and divorce in this present day and age, hence the slogan :"Empowering Couples, Restoring Marriages". EW: Do you think marriages are celebrated? FA: In my own opinion ,marriage is not celebrated like it should be. God 's intention is that marriage should be between a man and a woman but unfortunately it has been bastardised . People no longer regard marriage anymore. Living together without solemnisation is the order of the day. Not to talk about the permissiveness of both sexes becoming spouses as against God's divine will and order. EW: What more can we do to celebrate marriages in the 21st century? FA: The main thing we can do is to ensure that the vision of marriage is continually taught in churches, in seminars and every open opportunities made available. EW: As you know the government is looking into passing a bill on same sex marriages, if the bill is passed, how do you think this will affect your programme Lasting Love. FA: The bill will not in anyway affect Lasting Love couples' talk show. I will continue to bring only heterosexual couples on air who will continually proclaim and advocate God's original plan for marriage. The original intention of God will not be stopped or quietened in any way. The bible clearly emphasises that marriage is between one man and one woman. EW: What steps would you take to preserve the vision behind your mission? FA: Collaborating with organisations to put together regular marriage seminars/couples events or weekends away where we can learn more about the rudiments of marriage and celebrate marriages. Arrangement of regular renewals of vows by couples in such events will also go a long way in ensuring a long lasting relationship.

Angie Greaves the Voice of Radio Interviews Jacqueline Ani on Being Single to Be Married Angie Greaves interviewed Jacqueline Ani about her book “ Being Single to Be Married” Preparing yourself for a purpose driven marriage. To be honest the title of this book didn’t make sense to Angie at all, but author Jacqueline Ani beautifully explains that in order to be secure in your marriage and have purpose, you need to be whole in yourself. If you are needy you’ll drain your partner! We also touched on the subject of roles in a marriage; being so excited about the wedding you forget to plan for married life; and that very touchy subject of single sex marriage. Listen to recording INTERVIEW
Look out for Jacqueline Ani’s new book “Help! Now that I’m Married What Next? A Guide to Living a Purpose Driven Marriage”. The Sequel to “Being Single to Be Married. A Guide to Preparing Yourself for a Purpose Driven Marriage” 10

EING SINGLE TO BE MARRIED BLOG CORNER
The Four Seasons of Marriage - Winter Season Winter marriages are characterised by coldness, harshness, and bitterness. The dreams of spring are covered with layers of ice, and the weather forecast calls for more freezing rain. If the husband and wife have a conversation, it is merely about logistics: who will do what and when, If they try to talk about their relationship, it typically ends in an argument that goes unsolved. Some couples simply live in a cold silence. Essentially they lead independent lives though they live in the same house. Each spouse blames the other for the coldness of the relationship. What brings a couple to the winter season of marriage? In a word - rigidity - the unwillingness to consider the other person's perspective and to work toward a meaningful compromise. All couple face difficulties and all couples have differences. These differences may centre on money, in-laws, religion, or any other area of life. Couples who fail to negotiate these differences will find themselves in the middle of winter - a season of marriage created not by the difficulties of life, but by the manner in which a couple respond to those difficulties. HE INGREDIENTS OF A STRONG MARRIAGE BY FUNMI ADEYI
Marriage is a covenant which involves a man, woman and God. It's a physical relationship as well as a soul relationship where a man joins together with a woman in body and soul. Marriage was intended so that both man and woman can mutually benefit from each other regardless of culture and background . In other for a marriage to come out strong, certain requirements are necessary to be in place:
1) Discern and fulfil each other's needs... Both men and women do have different needs and when met completes and fulfils them . Making them perform better in their day to day activities. Some men's needs include sexual satisfaction ,support, admiration amongst others and for a woman includes intimacy ,appreciation and conversation, financial support, openness and honesty. (2) Appreciation is very vital in solidifying the marriage. spouses who show indebt appreciation for each other enjoy very many good times. They look ahead into making each other happy knowing that it will be very well appreciated. It's a good practice to always appreciate each other. (3) Communication: One of the things that sustain marriages is the ability for couples to talk about everything and anything. Talk about your activities every day.. Talk about your future plans, be open to each other. Talk about your kids. Plan events together.
(4) Plan adventures together : There is a great need for couples to spend quality time together outside their home. Amidst the busy lifestyle ,there's a tendency for couples to become drifted apart. Therefore taking time away from friends, work and children is important and will restore a lot back into the relationship. It doesn't have to be anywhere expensive . It could be an holiday away, or a weekend away or even an evening away. Whatever opportunity you have, make the most of it and reignite your love life. (5) Pray together.: A praying couple is a winning couple. The bible says, one will chase a thousand while two will chase ten thousand. A praying couple will ever be in touch with each other. Couples who don't cultivate that praying habit will fight often, drift apart, disagree many times and often keep malice.
Finally, it is reassuring to know that marriage is beautiful and should be very much desired . It's not without it's challenges, but if you adhere to all the listed points and more, you re bound to sail through. God bless you.
