Moving in Power I remember having conversations with someone who I consider a wise man; he always have very profound words of wisdom to pass on that causes me to evaluate how I did things. A few pointed words he said that resonate with me over the years was "individuals must move in power to be taken seriously and be deemed worthy of following". At first I was not tracking what he meant but soon catches on. His analogy was that whatever role a person assume they should find a reason to make it important and valuable not only to themselves but to everyone else. His perspective goes beyond just doing a good job; he thought we should develop a passion that makes what we do become so personal and special, failing is seen as unacceptable. "Moving in power" indicates we come prepared to win, and succeeding is the only option. It is a survivalist mentally where we are always driven by a burning desire to triumph no matter how difficult the task. He felt we all should be fueled by reason, a reason to succeed. Moving in power also signifies an urgency to act; here we are motivated by a dire need to do something. Due to the fact that we are so deliberate and sure, people see a cause to rally behind our purpose as if it was their own. Here, we gain credibility and expand our influence because we have established a track record that show results. Because we are excited about the possibilities, others too become fired up about the prospects of getting the job done; they are sold out to the belief of being part of a winning team. "Moving in power" is based on the principle of individuals invoking an intense internal energy to do great things. With the same tenacity that force is translated into actions where people see and experience the benefits and buy into the ideology. From there followers too are inspired to go out and do remarkable things with the confidence that they will also succeed. This concept is all about getting people pumped to do their job regardless of what it is. We give them a reason why their job is important; they find value in doing it and willing to do what is necessary to succeed. That amounts to the power of one person inciting others to do amazing things, simply effective leadership demonstrated.
