Greetings, As we started to put this group of Hereford females together for the sale, we decided we would offer something sired by each of our main herd sires. After 5 straight years of drought and 6 out of the 7 years of below average moisture, these cattle have proven that they can and will deliver under harsh conditions Unless you are from South Western SK or South Eastern AB, it is pretty hard to appreciate what these cattle have been thru the last few years. It must have been pretty evident as we had a “little visitor” here this summer and when he was on his way home with his parents he asked “Do Alvin and MK live in the desert?” We don’t creep feed our calves however, many people have commented how good they looked this fall, most importantly their dams have maintained their body condition going into winter . Probably the proudest moment of the year has been the latest CHA EPD run, Hills-Galore 44Z Rewind 147E and his natural full brother Hills-Galore 44Z Resolute 128D are now trait leaders in 10 or more categories. Resolute is a trail leader in the AHA and we expect Rewind will follow him as his offspring performance information gets entered. Instead of offering a junior discount this year, we have decided to include 2 straws of Hills-Galore 44Z Rewind 147E semen (Canadian qualified semen) with any Hereford female purchased by a Junior Hereford member (animals must be transferred to the junior to qualify) . Our 93D and 7072 bulls have hit trait leader status and we are pretty proud of the fact that whether it is carcass, rate of gain in the feedlot or maternal, these bulls get it done. These bulls cover a lot of bases and when Resolute and Rewind were used across the board in other herds, they dropped their birth numbers while increasing their performance numbers – that’s what our program is all about, traits that make a positive impact in the real world. POJ 69E, POJ 34F, POJ 11G and POJ 63G – these bulls are trait leaders in the making and represent the future of our program . MK doesn’t like to part with many of her Angus females but she is selling a fancy Sure Fire daughter out of a pretty impressive Flat Top 2-year-old. She is also selling an outstanding baldie heifer calf. If you have any questions just give us a call. We invite you to stop in anytime to view the sale females and we would be happy to show you our program. Regards,
Alvin & Mary Kate Julia, Alex and Georgia

Pigment, Style and Performance all wrapped up in one package with a unique pedigree combination. Ricki 93J is sired by Hills-Galore 44z Rewind 147E and on her maternal side, she traces back to a son of Bowen Western Star. Cowboy was a bull that has left us with daughters who have become valuable genetic tools in our program. 44Z and 67Y are still in production at Hills-Galore bringing in calves each fall. Other then Georgia showing at a few junior shows the past few years we don’t go to shows as a rule so we can’t tell you about generations of class winners, but we can tell you about cows who out produce themselves in some of the harshest pasture and feed conditions. Most recently, Rewind sired the steers who won the average daily gain in both the purebred and commercial divisions of the NJHA Fed Steer Shootout – congratulations to Katherine Krauss on this prestigious win! We will not be selling many of these Rewind females so take advantage of taking your choice of these heifers lot 1 and 1A.

We have all been admiring this Rewind female since we weaned her and we have all asked the same question – Why we are selling her? This females dam is a producing fool, 2D is a daughter of 3050 (Tom) and she has a bred heifer that we are retaining. 2D has produced 2 bulls, one that sold commercially and a son working in a purebred herd in Minnesota. Alvin has often said “The biggest mistake we have made is not keeping all of our “Tom” daughters. their production and ability to maintain their condition while bringing in big calves each fall.
The herds these females have gone into quickly rise to the top with
There is a limited amount of Canadian qualified Rewind semen available for sale, why not purchase a daughter with a unique outcross pedigree and get her into production in your own herd!

There are heifers in everyone’s herd that make it fun to picture and Ruby 62J is certainly the one! Dark, pigmented and flashy best describes this heifer calf with a pedigree like no other! Her dam POJ 124F is an own daughter of Hills-Galore 44Z Resolute 128D a multi-trait leader CE, WW, YR, Tot Mat, MAT CE, Sustained Cow Fertility, MPI, FMI, PWG, REA, MARB, BMI, BII and CHB. Resolute is a bull that has created quite a stir in the USA (just try and find semen someone is willing to sell you!) 124F -Ruby’s dam is a full sister to the lot 1 female we sold in our sale last year to Trevor Moebis and Jon McKenzie, she traces back to the Cowboy 87T bull and has a pedigree unlike most females Ruby’s sire “Code Red 34F” is a homozygous polled bull with a ton of horned genetics on the topside and out of a Cal daughter who is proving she can take her place with the top producers in our herd. Maternally backed by 24T, a cow that consistently pounded out bulls good enough to be in our Denver pens Code Red 34F is a bull that you can’t help but admire for his power, dimension and length. If you are looking to add some different genetics backed by breed greats, take a look at this “Gem”.

One week off of being a May born heifer, Kitty 142J is a female that we think will make an awful good cow. She is soft made, deep and long bodied, just a really pretty package. Her dam, 113E, is a freckle faced Cal daughter - Anyone who follows our breeding program will know that we think very highly of our Cal females – in fact the majority of our cowherd is made up of his daughters, grand daughters or great grand daughters. Her sire 11G is a bull we raised and his first group of calves are impressive. His dam 55A is a powerhouse of a female with an excellent udder. This is the kind of female that will be in your herd for the long run, you can’t put a value on the genetic maternal strength of this female.

Here is a heifer calf with a different unique pedigree combination. Georgia was fortunate to have been drawn for the Heifer Lottery at Bonanza and she selected the dam of this heifer calf from the Bar Pipe dispersal sale, “Kenzie’s” dam has a beautiful udder and has done an excellent job on her first calf. 7J’s sire Hills-Galore 84C Trigger 63G, is the bull that we used naturally on a large group of our heifers the past 2 breeding seasons and we were so impressed with the quality of his calves, we drew semen and used him heavily this spring on some of our top cows. This heifer calf has a sweet disposition and would make a great addition to any herd. Owned by Georgia Pawlitza

I’m not sure who agonizes more about picking sale females – Alvin or myself! I tell Alvin he would have an easier time picking which one of his kids to let go (kidding …. not kidding!). Sometimes you just have to pick one and truthfully it better be a good one that will represent your program. Shirley is as best of a 7072 daughter as we have ever raised. Deep, Stout, easy keeping and beautiful, she is a female you can build a program around. 7072 is a bull Alvin and Georgia picked out as a calf from Bruce Thomas, he is a trait leader for Calving Ease, MCE, Udder suspension, MPI, FMI and teat size. His sons are some of the first bulls to sell each spring and his daughters …..well we don’t usually part with them. Shirley’s maternal side, she looks just like her momma 4Z. Obviously in our program the productive cows stay and “4Z’ is a cow that comes to the top consistently. The dam of 4Z – POJ 105M is the dam of Hills-Galore Timberline 44T, a bull that can be found in many of our pedigrees. 3 out of the 4 bred heifers in the sale trace back to 44T while the other one traces back to 44T’s sire – you would almost think we had planned that! 105M was in production at Hills-Galore til she was 15 years old - Productivity and Longevity at its best. At the time we were selecting and picturing the bred females for the sale, we did not have the MD results for Lot 5, much to our dismay, Shirley 18H came back as a MD carrier. With the overwhelming response to a quick picture of lot 5 that MK put up on Facebook, we decided to go out to the field bring in another 7072 female and offer her as Lot 5A. We literally ran the heifer in from pasture, blew her out, clipped and pictured her in 3 hours! We were pleased that there was not much difference between both of the females 47H (MDF) is a ¾ sister to the lot 5 heifer, her dam POJ 18A is a daughter of 84U who just happens to be the dam of 93D, the sire of LOT 7 and 8 and the sire of the high selling bred female in our sale last year. If you like them a shade darker with lots of extra eye appeal and presence, Geneva will check all those boxes for you. You may remember her dam POJ 93A, her picture with her heifer calf has shown up in advertisements and brochures in both Canada and the United States. Geneva’s sire is a paternal bother to Resolute and Rewind, Hills-Galore 4102 Gunner 69E was our anchor bull in our Denver pen and now makes his home in BC at Copper T. Our 93D daughters are some of the most eye appealing young females in our herd. Going back through my pictures, 81H has always been a stand out female, she is the kind you see in the pasture and you instantly want to stop and take her picture. This female is intriguing – she has extra length depth and a beautiful profile; she strides out like she is on a mission (that is until you scratch her and then everything comes to a halt!)
