We are excited to invite you to the Millbrook Northern Exposure Vol V Sale on October 2, 2024. From Day 1 as we have assembled this offering, we have stated that this will be our best and deepest offering to date. The heifers speak for themselves, but the most exciting part of the offering might be the fact that every animal in this offering is either a daughter or granddaughter of the great Millbrook Fireball. Over the years we have highlighted many of his progeny including Tribute and Maria 6J. Both of their influences can be seen in the Vol V offering, and we continue to build around these two pillars in our program.

The Shorthorn is a breed full of excitement and youth, and we continue to see the growth of the breed on both sides of the border. Next summer will bring some of the largest Shorthorn events to Canada in July with the combination of the National Junior Shorthorn Show & Shorthorn World Congress in Lindsay, ON next July — a must-see event showcasing the next generation of talented breeders.

This year we are joined again by a great team to help you achieve your goals and find the right fit for your program. Feel free to reach out to any of our consultants, or to Stacy or myself to talk about the offering.

The journey of Maria 6J was one for the history books. She introduced us to so many people and brought a brand new spotlight to the Shorthorn breed. As we close the chapter on her show career, I can’t think of a more fitting way to kick off her production career. Watch for more to come from this female as she becomes a pillar in our program.

Maria

Millbrook MARIA LL 703M ET

Lot 1 reads as valuable property. She imbodies all her mother’s hard to make traits: overwhelming body and mass, flat shoulder and all the extra’s. Long Look just multiplied those pieces into this female and the addition of Margie 119 only adds to 687M’s generating potential. Don’t overlook this one for her age, she is as elite as we have ever produced.

MARGIE 119 SOL X ET
MARIA FB 6J ET MILLBROOK FIREBALL 23F
MARIA 321B

Millbrook CHASING DREAMS 690M ET

Truly a sale highlight! We have long admired the success of SS Inferno and Chasing Dreams 121 for their ability to combine real world function and show ring appeal. Lot 2 continues those progressive traits of incredible structure, feminine in her look, with added muscle and shape. One we feel is not only right for the times but offers unique opportunities for the Shorthorn breed. The guess work is done with this one as her full sister was Champion Female at the 2022 KC Junior Shorthorn Show.

Millbrook VERONICA FB 695M ET

A full sibling to Tribute and the 2022 Northern Exposure high seller to the Turner family. One that reads with so many donor cow qualities yet combines it with a show heifer presence. Three dimensional in her build, bold bodied and extremely athletic only add value to an already in demand pedigree. Of all the full sisters that have been born at Millbrook, none resemble 60E more than Lot 3.

Full Brother Full Sister

Millbrook JUANITA HC 698M

The Hot Commodity x Fireball combination continues to prove to be a timeless mating in the Shorthorn breed. This female comes with a shot more muscle and added hair. One that I believe will perform in both the show ring and production. This one is junior showman ready and would looks great in Lindsay next summer!

Millbrook DREAM LADY TB 687M

A pedigree that reads a shot foreign to the north, but one that combines as much bone and foot with balance and look to sort high on everyone’s list. Endless possibilities on a heifer that has taken advantage of the cooler fall weather, and a pedigree geared for the showring. The decision to add a Tribute female is one that you will never regret.

Millbrook CARLA TB 694M

Extra look and extension on a larger scaled induvial. Big legged, square hipped cattle are always in trend. Tribute mated back on a no miss CF Ringo (Full brother to Solution) cow leaves plenty of mating options. With some of the breeds most in demand genetics, Lot 6 is one that can open a lot of doors.

Millbrook FIREBALL 23F

Frozen Genetics

Millbrook Fireball has been a mainstay in the breed, and his popularity is not dwindling. Limited semen remains. Canadian qualified semen only. Stored at EastGen or Bow Valley

With a newfound enthusiasm in the Shorthorn breed, combined with a dedicated leadership group at the helm of the Canadian Junior Shorthorn Association, the future of the Shorthorn breed has never been stronger. We truly hope to and want to help junior members from across Canada participate at what is destined to be a great event, with the combination of the 2025 CJSA National Show and World Shorthorn Conference. Females purchased from Millbrook through this year’s Northern Exposure Sale are welcome to stay or return this spring to Millbrook Farm through to the CJSA Show at a small fee to help cover costs. Feel free to contact Blair or Stacy for more details or questions regarding this opportunity.
