Catalogue design and development by Pittman Print Media, Jamie-Rae PittmanWhat an entirely new way at looking at life for me as I lay in a hospital bed writing this years bull sale welcome.
I can’t tell you how many times I have just said, man am I happy to still be alive and have a chance to make a difference in so many different ways. Make a difference to our daughters lives, I get to go to more basketball and volleyball games. Make a difference to my wife, making her feel all my love I have for her and making her feel like the most special girl in the world that she is to me. Making a difference to my family and friends that came together so quickly to help us with anything that we needed to have done at a moments notice. And lastly my community of fellow cattle enthusiasts from all breeds for sharing such kind words and a positive message. I can’t say thank you enough for all the support.
That all being said, I am one tough son of a bitch... and this will not keep me down. I will be laid out for a few weeks getting my strength back and mending my bones.
I don’t want to take any of the focus off our bulls as this year’s crop of bulls have set new standards as far as weaning weights and yearling weights go, along with show ring accolades all across North America. Our bulls can work and thrive any place in the world. Poley and Mills were through the bulls in early January (I sure appreciate my buddies stopping in for evenings like those, some of the best visits and conversations happen in those times, thanks boys) and commented on how many BIG, STOUT, HAIRY bulls we had in every pen this year and with different pedigrees and give everyone an option to be involved. Everyone always says they are looking for that something different. We have that this year in spades!
The Lot 1 Herdbull PCC Husk 218K is really something to hang your hat on as we have seen all the success from his full brothers the year before. Word is from the Barrhead country is that Herb Johnson has never been more excited about a calf crop than he is with his PCC Innovation 123J calves. We are pumped about our Bourbon calves at PCC, and I know DanG is really looking forward to there first ones hitting the ground from PCC Uprising. When we were in Denver we had some different people stop by saying wow you guys raised Force of Nature he is so cool, we even have a couple Charolais calves coming from him this year. Which was exciting to hear, as semen sales on Force of Nature were astronomical in the USA this past year.
I will have lots of time in the month of February to visit with many of you folks about bulls as I will being healing up. Thank you to everyone who has been a big part of getting everything done for the bull sale.
THE ENTIRE DMM crew right down to Mavy and Jensey my all time buddies. Katie, Nicki Ross and her crew, can’t forget the help from my life long friend Jeff Trask. Uncle Dan and Uncle David, Uncle Kayne and Joss, Trigg, my sister Tanisha is always a rock for Justine and I. Auntie JAMIE is the Rockstar that pulls the catalogue together in absolutely no time and makes it look more amazing year after year...thank you so much to her!!! Grammy for holding down the the fort at PCC we love you so much. Timmy and Wanda thank you for everything you do. Thank you.
I AM ALIVE!!!
Charge on!!!
Tyler Bullick
Welcome to the 2023 edition of Prairie Cove’s Annual Spring Bull sale, February 23 at the ranch headquarters, Bashaw, Alberta. The crew at Prairie Cove have had an amazing year in 2022. Both their bull and female sales were record setting and several individuals are already setting their own destiny for the new owners. This should be no surprise as this breeding operation has been a breed leader for more than half a century.
The Prairie Cove Show record will be difficult to copy or repeat. Consider these facts – four major shows in different regions under out of breed judges:
• Bull Calf and Reserve Champion Bull – National Western Stock Show 2023
• Junior Champion Bull – National Western Stock Show 2023
• Reserve Champion Pen of Three Bulls – National Western Stock Show 2023
• Breeder of the Canadian Western Agribition Grand Champion Female 2022
• Premier Breeder, Premier Exhibitor and Champion Breeders Herd 2022 Farm Fair International
• Players Club Champion - Canadian National 2022 Royal Winter Fair (34 Charolais Judges)
The Prairie Cove 2023 offering is the most outstanding to date loaded with features which will influence the breed and the industry for years to follow. Consider some of the prospects selling:
• Reserve Denver Champion Bull
• The lead bull from the Denver Pen of three out of the great donor Berkley. He was the Grand Champion Bull at Alberta Select 2022 and a full sibling to the Denver Junior Champion Bull
The entire offering is diverse with many out of the donor program at PCC. The uniformity of this offering comes with plenty of performance, testicle, and hair. There is bull power here to accommodate a wide variety of operations. Stop by the ranch anytime prior the sale, preview the bulls, see the mothers and their udder types… it will be worth the visit… or give Tyler or Tim a call to discuss the offering and which bull will give you a competitive edge in the Charolais value chain. If we may be of assistance, prior to or sale day, feel free to contact any of the T Bar Team or myself, we will help you in a professional manner.

Bill and Bubbles Bullick Coronation AB became members of the CCA in1967.
Bill and Bubbles first became interested in Charolais cattle in 1961 when they sent some of their commercial cows to Jim Golley at Tees AB on a share agreement and got them bred to a Charolais Bull. The calves they got from those cows prompted them to purchase 4 half-blood Charolais cows from Ron Rouse with every cow having a heifer calf and one of those cows could be traced back to one of their first purebred cows. With the help of Ron Rouse, they got into the importation of Charolais from France and selling the first calf for $33,000.00 to Texas.
Bill was president of the Alberta Charolais Association in 1984 and 1985 and was presented the Charolais Honor Roll in 2005. In 1982 Bill & Bubble where awarded the ACA Purebred Breeder of the year
In 2004 Bill, Bubble & Family where given the Pioneer Award.
Prairie Cove Charolais held annual bull sales with long time friends the Siegers from Wildor Farms and the Elliotts from Silver Charolais at the Veteran Auction Market and many female sales with Wildor Farms.
Bill and Bubbles always enjoyed going to Charolais events to see many of their long-time friends like the Moore’s, Thompson’s and Martins and many others, especially at the ACA annual Meetings usually held in the spring with a sale.
Ron and Deb Bullick were an integral part of Prairie Cove Charolais. After returning from Vermilion College Ron brought new farming practices to enhance the operation and spent some time on the Alberta Cattle Commission. Dan, Shell and Leanne always had Charolais cross steers in 4-H and helped out at many shows and fairs throughout the years.
In 1980 Tim and Wanda Bullick returned to Prairie Cove Charolais with their children Tyler and Tanisha.
Tim was president of the ACA in 1989-1990 and had 2 terms on the CCA board form 91-94 and 2004-2006. Tim was instrumental in starting the Alberta Charolais Marketing Club in the 90’s. He also got this very successful Alberta Select weekend started in Old’s, with the pen of 3 bull show and sale quite a few years ago. Tim now sits on the Friends of the Canadian Charolais Foundation Board. Bubbles and Wanda kept busy on the farm making meals and hosting visitors from other countries and making quilts like this one for the ACA Fundraisers
Tim and Wanda also received Breeder of the Year in 2004 and in 2008 Tim was given the ACA Booster of the year award
Now Prairie Cove Charolais is continuing with Tyler Justine, Indy and Scarlet at Bashaw Alberta.
With an annual bull sale and bi annual female sale held at the farm.
Showing Charolais cattle has been a passion for Tyler and Justine winning numerous awards including 2- Two- time Supreme Champions females at Edmonton and Regina in the last 4 years. With the first phone call always being to Bill and Bubbles.
Tyler sits on the Alberta Charolais Board of directors and enjoys spending time with Justine, Indy and Scarlet.
Tyler was on the committee that started the Player’s Club. Prairie Cove was fortunate to win it twice now. The first PCC Bull to win was named Brewitt that Tyler named after his grandpa’s middle name.
Prairie Cove Charolais continues to thrive after nearly 60 years in the business.
