As planning goes Sheldon and Ray secured a semen interest in one of the most talked about Red Angus bulls this spring, Red SSS Granite 74H to be used on sale cows to not only compliment but to enhance your investment with such a high quality bull while being on the ground floor in getting his first calves! Study the cows, videos footnotes and be sure to visit with Sheldon in how these cow(s) would fit into your operation. Wraz has brought a stunning group of bred heifers to town that make Phil wince when we were sorting through the heifers. Highlighted by Next Step this group of females like always are a high quality group to represent the Wraz breeding program. Welcome to the 2021 edition of the Pride of the Prairies Female Sale. 2021 has proven to be a year like no other. We have suffered personal loss, drought and wobbled our way through a pandemic yet we are thankful for so many things in our life. First and foremost, we have been blessed by our family and friends who have surrounded us during our time of sorrow and need. You are the light that has pulled us through, we are finding our way forward and we are forever grateful. This drought has taught us that we are resilient people and that the tough get going when times get tough. We have developed a new water well and our feed stacks have been balanced to our cow herd even though they may be shorter than hoped for. The cows have pulled through the summer and fall in tremendous condition. We hope that you will make the time to be our guests on December 11th in Saskatoon to enjoy our special brand of hospitality. We recognize that there are lots of sales to source your genetic investments from, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your consideration. 2021 marks the 50th Anniversary of Kenray Ranch raising registered seedstock. We are honored to have been awarded Purebred Breeder of the Year by the Saskatchewan Angus Association. We continue to fine tune our herd focusing on easy fleshing, deep bodied cows with the ability to freely forage and convert efficiently. We manage our cows to work for us, they graze for as many days as possible before being turned into winter feeding paddocks and only see the corrals during calving season, then they are then turned out into one large group post-calving up until breeding season. We are a family operated operation so the guys that AI the females, feed the bulls, bed the barn, mend the fences, treat sick calves are also the guys who follow up with our customers. We aim to understand your needs and if you feel that we don’t we want to hear it from you. Our offering this year is one that we are extremely proud of. We have been building and developing this cow herd since 1986. The cows on offer today have been sorted through and culled along the way. We AIed as many of the cows in the offering as possible to the exciting Red SSS Granite 74H. These exclusive AI matings will allow for genetic lead time for their new owners. Our entire offering has been on a full herd health program designed by Head for the Hills Veterinary Service, Dr. Clarke Hill. All breeding females were vaccinated prior to breeding in the spring with a modified live fetal protection vaccine Express 5 VL5. This covered BVD (type 1 & 2), IBR, BRSV, PI3 as well as vibrio and leptospirosis (abortion causing bacteria). These cows should be up to date for fetal protection and ready to fit into any herd vaccination herd protocol. Please join us and our good friends at WRAZ Red Angus on December 11th in Saskatoon at SLS. Good times, great cattle & even better people!! Make the time to be our guests, The Kyle Family, Kenray Ranch

Kenray Ranch, Redvers, SK
2021 SASKATCHEWAN ANGUS ASSOCIATION Purebred Breeder of the Year The 2021 Saskatchewan Angus Association (SAA) Breeder of the Year should be a familiar name to those involved in our Association in recent years. The Kyle family of Kenray Ranch are supporters and sponsors of their community and the livestock industry, volunteering their time and assistance whenever possible. Sheldon has been an SAA board member since 2014, served as the President in 2018 and he is currently the President of the Canadian Angus Association. Sheldon has been a mentor to young producers and the family have been involved in hosting the last two Saskatchewan Angus tours that have been held close to their area. Sheldon has also served with the local Co-op board and Canadian Western Agribition committees. He was part of the Canadian Young Leaders Program and has had the opportunity to travel to the United States, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand meeting new people and touring cattle operations over the years. The original homestead of the ranch was settled in 1902 by Ray’s Great Grandfather. In 1971 Kenray Ranch was officially formed as a partnership between Ken Kyle and his son Ray Kyle. 1971 was a special year as it also marked the marriage of Ray and Donelda Kyle. The farm started off as a mixed farm in the early years and started importing Simmentals from Germany in 1973. During that particular time period there was a large demand for Simmental genetics but also a lot of supply; prompting the partnership to dissolve in 1986 and the dispersal of the Simmental program. In the fall in 1986 Ray and Donelda took a trip to Moose Creek Red Angus and bought a package of bred heifers that became the source of their foundation genetics. In 1989 following the complete dispersal of the Simmental cows they went to Flying K Red Angus and purchased four bred females along with Red Flying K Dynamo 6Y. Dynamo become one of their foundation sires to which many cattle trace back to this very day. The herd has grown and developed over the years to where it is today and they now annually calve out roughly 200 females. Local community involvement was always very important to Ray and Donelda - they were involved in the Co-op board, the local tourism booth, as well as the curling and hockey clubs. 4-H was a very important organization as well and Sheldon was a member for many years. This led to Kenray Ranch showing at Agribition for the first time in 1993 and they haven’t missed many since. One of their biggest accomplishments was when Red Lakeford Kapton 7M, who they coowned with Jackson Cattle Company, was crowned Grand Champion Red Angus bull at Canadian Western Agribition and was a top 10 finalist in the RBC Beef Supreme. In the early days they were quite involved in the showring and now have transitioned to exhibiting cattle in the Yards. Agribition has always been a great place to meet new people and share new ideas whether it is an afternoon cocktail on the tack box or a late-night discussion at the Swamp. The Kyle’s value so many people they have met over the years and consider the following people as key mentors in their program: Ray & Glenn Ippolito, Levi Jackson, Barry Young, Dale Easton, Cathy Piller, Blair & Lois McRae and Trent Liebreich. Ray and Donelda have two sons. The oldest is Lyndon who along with his wife Karmen have three children: Layne, Reese and Tyson. Lyndon works as a journeyman mechanic in Carlyle and the whole family is close by to lend a hand on the farm when needed. The youngest of the brothers is Sheldon and along with his better half Ella Wright, they have a son named Oliver. Sheldon obtained his Animal Science degree at the University of Saskatchewan in Agriculture in 2000. After university he took the time to travel spending seven months in Australia, working in the feed industry in Brandon and Calgary as well as training to be an ag lender for TD Canada Trust in Red Deer. Sheldon returned to the farm full time in the fall of 2006. Along with the day-to-day farm management duties Sheldon is also an ag retailer with Norheim Ranching. Ella is very busy with her livestock photography and graphic design company. She is one of the most respected dairy photographers in the world and has travelled extensively globally providing on farm photography services to breeders and at many major Livestock Shows. Kenray has built a solid long-term business and would offer tips to new breeders such as: don’t sell anything you wouldn’t keep, stay in contact with your customers, do research, don’t follow fads, and trust your gut. For many years Kenray offered their bulls by private treaty and select females at consignment sales. Additionally, they were previously involved in a couple of bull sales with Moose Creek as well as Levi Jackson. They have many long-term customers throughout western Canada and into the U.S. Most of their commercial customers are second or third generation and have done business with the Kyle family for many years. For the last few years their bull marketing has switched to an online sale held the first Wednesday and Thursday of April. Kenray has also had online female sales in the past and have even successfully marketed F1 heifers on twitter when twitter was in its infancy. As leaders in innovation and new ideas in marketing Kenray partnered with Wraz Red Angus and formed the Pride of the Prairies Female Sale in 2016. This year will mark a special year for them as on December 11 they will offer up the mature cow herd (“D’s through Z’s”). The Kenray cowherd foundation are deep ribbed, good footed, good uddered cows that have to work hard. They typically graze as long as they can and often stay in the field up to a week before calving. The Kyles really enjoy cow tours and their Texas-like hospitality is second to none. The most influential sires of their program include; Flying K Dynamo 6Y, Mar Mac Indicator 30Z, as well as SSS Staunch 64Y. A notable milestone was the live export of Dynamo 6Y to Argentina in 1994. The most influential cow families to their program are the Lana, Rosa, Baroness and Thelma cow families. Sadly, on March 24 of 2021 Donelda passed away at the age of 69. November 6th, 2021 would have marked Ray and Donelda’s 50th wedding anniversary. Donelda grew up on a mixed farm just south of Carlyle. Her ranch roles over the years included the paperwork; registering the cattle, lending a hand where needed and trying to make sure the boys stayed out of trouble. She had a very keen eye for cattle and selected some of the top cow families. Donelda easily made many friends at all the cattle shows/sales and was always ready for a laugh. She loved family time and spending time with her four grandchildren. This fall Kenray Ranch was very pleased and excited to make history at the 49th Annual Red Round-up, selling their Merit Cattle Co. Red-carrier partnership heifer, Kenray Merit Freyja 36H as the high-seller to Meadow Creek. They look forward to seeing where Freyja will take them! Kenray Ranch is a true family operation as they work and make decisions as a family. They love getting out and supporting agriculture events and meeting new people. Oliver just attended his first Canadian Junior Angus Showdown and judging by the pictures and dialogue it will be the start of many youth events to come. The future looks bright for Kenray Ranch and the Kyle family.

When we first started kicking around the idea of selling ALL of our 2012-2016 born cows last winter we were set on making sure we had an exciting and exclusive AI service sire in our arsenal to breed as many of the cows to as possible. When we found Red SSS Granite 74H, we gunned to own him sale day but pulled up short on ammunition that day. Granite combines a super cool look and a front end designed to construct females. He does not give up any performance or muscle mass on his well constructed frame. When the opportunity to invest in a semen package presented itself this spring we were all in. Over 1/2 of the sale offering has been AI bred to him and near 80% of those females have preg checked safe to him. Opportunity at genetic lead time like this rarely presents itself!!
We are proud to support the Canadian Angus Foundation 15 for 50 Program With YOUR help we will continue to further the Foundation’s mission and the breed.

Rosa 3A is the female that has had the greatest positive impact on our breeding herd in recent years. We have retained two sons to serve herdsire duties Staunch 61D and Resource 50G. Progeny from both bulls are born easy and excel in the growth and eye appeal departments. Additionally, we have retained 9 daughters for our program. Cows that simply go about their business and get their job done are the hardest cows to write a footnote about. Rosa 10A is one such individual, she has consistently raised bull calves that the cowboys fight over, females that other breeders easily accept, and this year put a heifer calf into the show heifer pen for us. A daughter of hers was on Bryan’s radar during this past summer’s Red Round Up selection tour, we are hopeful that he forgets about her next year. In 2020 a daughter of hers sold through the Pride of the Prairies to Gus Gran of South Dakota. Exposed to Red J Bar Dee Thunderhead 3F May 8th to July 20th Due mid February

Lot 5 This Rosa cow family does so many things extremely well. The original 34W cows was selected from the Kuntz Farms dispersal based on the heifer calf that she had at foot. We have built a solid cow family from this original purchase and 98B is a huge part of that story. When we purchased Dynamo 6Y from the great folks at Flying K in the fall of 1989 I don’t think we knew exactly what we had acquired. He developed into an All- Star Herdbull for us and wrote a piece of history for our family and farm. His daughters are sound footed with deep sweeping rib design while being built to last under less cost management practices. We built a foundation from this bull before he was live exported to Argentina in 1994. Rosa 98B herself has left us two replacement females, one daughter is working for Dale Minty a son working for the Taylor family and has a son that is being developed for next springs bull sale. Opportunity to acquire a proven cow family backed by a foundation herdsire. AI Red SSS Granite 74H May 12th Exposed to Red J Bar Dee Thunderhead 3F May 26th to July 20th Due mid March

It is an unwritten rule that you are not supposed to have a favorite in a sale offering but I need to make a confession, Ms Gravity 57C is my personal favorite. She is an exemplary female that commands attention no matter how you look at her. She is exactly what we have been striving to produce. Cows that are easy fleshing, have the ability to feely forage with no structural impediments, raise fat calves and look fantastic doing it. She does all of these things perfectly and has achieved Elite Dam status with the CAA while doing it. Her service to Granite is one that gets me so excited, and I can not wait to find out who is willing to take her to the next level. We think so much of this female that we are retaining one future flush with a guarantee of 6 viable embryos at the buyer’s convenience and our expense. Females of this quality do not come available very often, don’t miss out. AI Red SSS Granite 74H May 25th Exposed to Red J Bar Dee Thunderhead 3F June 9th to July 20th Safe AI

We set out to Innisfail, AB for Jim Kings Red Angus dispersal with one goal in mind, to add as many Aster cows that we could afford that day. We secured ourselves 2 ET sisters and the Designer 63X bull after trying extremely hard to own his dam 663S. I kick myself to this day for not getting that done… As time went on we have learned to appreciate this cow family more and more. They consistently produce the good ones and pay their way. Aster 79A happens to be double bred to this cow family by design, we believe in stacking cow families when they deserve to be. Up till now we have not released many Aster females from our program as they have been highly guarded.

The Kuruba 20T was a cow that lasted the test of time around our place that always got noticed in the pasture due to her near perfect udder and correct lines. If we had been doing ET work at that time she would have been on the donor list. Kuruba 22A herself has been a solid producer herself always transmitting her calving ease onto her progeny and raising easy to market progeny. Sons have previously sold to Ron Martin and Mike Imler.
Anne is product of a package of lease cows that we had previously leased from Cathy Piller, we always admired the maternal quality of the Riverdale program and were excited at the opportunity to have access to a few of these females. Anne 5B has done a nice job as a brood cow with a son working in the Emmatt Creek herd at Whitewood and a daughter for Springville Farms.

Baroness 57Z happens to be the maternal grand dam to none other than the wildly popular and prolific Ter-Ron Riddler. In the fall of 2015 we made the decision to return to Red Round-Up as a consignor and we committed to offering our two best heifer calves that year. Bryan selected Baroness 13C and we did our best to get her in show shape. Under the watchful eye of Cheramie Viator she placed 4th in the newly developed Heifer Calf Extravaganza. Following a power outage partway through the sale Baroness 13C entered the sale ring as the lights slowly came back on and following a highly contested bidding war Grandpa Terry bought his grand daughter, Baroness 13C. Her production has been outstanding and her impact has been notable. The Baroness cow family is one that we are committed to and look forward to developing more females from this line into the future. Queen 30A is a larger framed cow that was successfully IVF flushed this fall producing 102 oocytes on her 1st cycle. We intend to move forward with her genetics as one of our favorite replacement heifers this year is her daughter.

Jasmin was selected from Blairs.Ag as a potential show heifer in the fall of 2012. I do not know who I was kidding that day (likely just myself) because we have not taken a show string out in quite some time. In stead Jazmin developed into a terrific brood matron raising many sons that have been selected by highly discriminating commercial cattlemen and her first daughter was our high selling heifer through our previous on-line heifer sale to the fine gentlemen at Twin Heritage. Jasmin was that cow who was always looking for a scratch during summer pasture tours.

Rose is a deep red brood matron that always brings in a good calf come fall time. Her mother was part of a package of lease cows that originated from the extremely maternal Riverdale breeding program. When we set out to Lethbridge in the fall of 2019 to attend the U-2 Herd Dispersal we had set out with a short list of females to attempt to purchase as a potential donor cow for our ET program. Anexa 226C was at the top of that list and we were extremely excited when we were able to acquire her that historic day. Her first calf U2 Retrospect 29E was sold a sale feature in 2018 to MRL for $21,000 and he in turn has produced countless high selling progeny. Last fall at Red Round Up we featured Anexa and her daughter at Red Round Up in Olds. We sold ½ interest in her daughter to Colleen Goertz and her full sib embryos were the high selling embryo package to Jeremy Reisdorfer. Anexa 226C has been in embryo production and we are excited by the matings we have created for our program. Here is a cow with all kind of profit left in her and a very exciting AI service to boot. Our decision to sell ALL of the 2012-2016 females from our program will be an absolute opportunity for someone here!!

Tinsel 39C came to us a heifer calf from our long time friend and supporter Gerry Walters of WCF Red Angus in Ontario. Tinsel is a bit darker shade of Red Angus but this is something we play around with a bit to inject some new genetics into the Red gene pool from time to time. Tinsel has had a very solid production career with sons working at Norheim Ranching, North Farms and her first son working at WCF back in Ontario. The dam of this cow is one of the very best Mulberry daughters that I have ever seen and trust me there are lots of good ones out there! Her service to Thunderhead should add some overall frame and dimension to the resulting calf. Dare to be different, it pays off every now and then!! There is extreme longevity in the Queen cow family, ole 53R lived to be a 15 year old cow and raised countless daughters for our herd. A full sibling to Queen 95D named Indy 61B was a standout individual and ended up serving herdsire duties at Emmat Creek Red Angus. This summer while on pasture the bull calf at foot of Queen caught the keen eye of more than one astute cattleman.

Sometimes a partnership just happens, this is the case with Copper. We had purchased a bull from Clayton and Kathy Park of Rack Red Angus in the spring of 2016 and when they delivered him they also wanted to attend Jeff Fraser’s bull sale. We made the trip over to Virden together and just happened to purchase Copper 562C in partnership making her the high selling female that day for $10,000. Copper has produced us a small tribe of daughters with two retained in herd and one selling through the Pride of the Prairies to Hell’s Gate Farms. Her 2021 Resource son just happens to be red and is one that will be noticed in the spring at bull sale time.

The Frado family is synonymous with quality at Mar Mac Farms. We attended the Mar Mac Farms female sale in the fall of 2015 when 89B was being offered as a paired lot with her full sister 5C. These females were very closely matched so we elected to select the bred heifer that day. We have since had a few friendly conversations as to who ended up with the right one. Moderate made in a no hassle package is what this Frado cow is.

If you are in search of a mama cow that can be counted on to add additional scale, growth and overall performance into her progeny you will want to ensure you have Reba marked. We have retained a couple of daughters for our breeding program and a son sold this past fall to the keen eye of Steve McMechan who has one of the best Red Angus influenced commercial herds in SW Manitoba.
We have always admired the Tibbie cow family from the Anderson’s and were excited when we added Tibbie 50D as a heifer calf from the Keystone Klassic. The Tibbie cow family deserves to have their own history book written about them and I am hopeful that someone will undertake this project someday. A daughter of Tibbie 50D sold to Hillcrest colony last fall and recently weaned off a 700 lbs bull calf.

Welcome to the Pride of the Prairies female offering for 2021. Thank you for your time and interest today and in the future as well your past support as buyers, bidders, lookers and for your sale attendance. We really appreciate it! The last couple years have certainly been interesting if nothing else! I am not sure of many things these days but one thing that I am sure of is the people in this livestock industry – when the going gets tough there is no place I would rather be than surrounded by people who make their living in this industry. It has been a major challenge for many areas to put feed and water in place to maintain the herd and we are thankful for the feed we were able to gather and I hope you have been able to gather enough as well. I appreciate the program assistance that has been put in place for our industry and trust it has been decent help for all in need. My hat is off to the producers that give their valuable time to sit on the industry boards that lobby the government that helped bring this assistance together – THANK YOU! Even though times are less than perfect we still need to keep our eye on the ball and go forward with our herd genetics. With this in mind we have put together a group of females we believe will have a positive influence with a very good return on investment for their new owner. I would rather keep all of these females in our herd but the reality is if it hurts to sell them I am confident they will work well for you. There are some very interesting fresh pedigrees from the top end of the Black Red Carrier females that were offered in this very sale last year. It takes a great length of time and extra effort to build red hided females from blacks -the time and $ you will save by investing already has built in value. Our top two bulls in the sale pen this year are out of first calf heifers. Service sire JJL Legend 83G was proven to calve easily last year and was used heavily this breeding season. Watch for his very attractive calving ease sons in our April Bull Sale. Our sale partner KenRay Ranch has a great set of females on offer as well so please join us as we share our genetics with you. Please let me know if I can help in any way – call me anytime! 306 577 7440 Take care, Phil
A NOTE ABOUT WRAZ NUTRITION AND VACCINATION PROGRAM. Herd health is supervised and pregnancy checking done by our local veterinarian Dr. Henry McCarthy. The heifers have all been vaccinated with Inforce 3 internasal in their first month of age, BoviGold One Shot and Ultrabac 7 at pasture turn out and booster shots again in the fall along with Ivermectin pour on. They were vaccinated November 10, 2021 with Bovi Gold FP5, first shot of scour vaccine (Bovilus)and Ivermectin pour on.

Outcross for most breeders in Canada and very well proven! This very dark red, hairy, breeding machine of a Navigator son was not small and he would handle whatever group of females you sent his way. Between Bryan and I one spring/summer he serviced over 100 females and still held his condition very well. His females have real nice teat size and udders built to last. I am quite positive they have above average Milk Fat. They are doing an amazing job raising their progeny – some of the top growth calves in their groups in the herds that have used him. On that note Next Step semen has been only offered occasionally to keep him rather exclusive for those of you that have invested. This will be the only semen sold in Canada for the coming spring breeding season. This one cuts pretty deep. Her beauty of a dam was lead off female in the offering last year. This is exactly what I was trying to achieve with Next Step on the black red carrier females. Pretty neat outcross on paper and a great representative of what Next Step with his wicked good feet and athletic cat like movement can do. Daughters are already reaching for the stars with proven high quality teats and udder size/quality that will last. I also believe daughters produce higher than average milk fat well proven by the progeny they raise – Bryan’s comment was they are raising some of the biggest calves as heifers! Have a look at the beauty of an udder she is dropping down. I have no doubt the barrel she has will be more than adequate forage space to fuel her expected strong production. You cannot help but notice the feminine front end, angularity and eye appeal that she and her dam both possess. Great fertility showing up as well – she is early bred and most likely will be the first one of the group to calve. This one checks all the boxes so don’t stop till you own her! This one is right from the top. Her dam is a CAA Premier Dam that checks all the boxes for me and entered our donor program last year. She still has as good of foot as you will find at 11 years of age as well as a beauty of an udder. She does not miss with 10 progeny and she is bred up again after a flush. Ruby 144H has a beautiful head and front end along with all the other very strong traits her donor dam possesses including her excellent temperament. Her sire Next Step had as strong of foot as any sire I have used and I have very high expectations for this female. I am willing to share some of our top genetics with you but I felt I needed to keep one of my top females so I will let you make the decision which one goes and which one I keep. Sells Choice with Paternal sister 154H. P.E to Red JJL Legend 83G April 15 to Aug 10, 2021. Observed bred April 16, 2021. Preg checked Aug 10, 2021 to be 2 months along which indicates she missed that first observed date. That is what the preg check says but I would have her close for the observed date.

Lot 46B Another of our top picks! Two maternal sisters working for Brylor Ranch – One of them has a feature calving ease son 25H by Tommy Jack in the upcoming 51st Annual Brylor Bull Sale! Dam Ardath 110A has done a nice job for us – I tried to buy her dam Ardath 106P at the Agribition sale a few years back but it was beyond my budget so Blair Ag was the successful bidder that day. Fortunately a daughter came available and I was able to acquire her instead. Another female that does not miss with 7 progeny and this year she put a bull by our High Selling Assassin son Clipper into the bull pen. He will sell in our April Bull Sale. These Next Step daughters are flat good so I said before I am willing to share some of our top females but this one will be in the pen with 144H and you will get to choose! Sells Choice with Paternal sister 144H. P.E to Red JJL Legend 83G April 15 to Aug 10, 2021. Due late February

Lot 47 If you are looking for a power female have a close look at this one. She has been easy to find since birth. Skija 46H is dark red with lots of hair and lots of middle to go with her power and style. With the power she displays it is hard to imagine she was just 75 lbs at birth but calving ease is bred strong in her pedigree. Her dam Skija 36Z a Toast daughter was 73 lbs at birth with average daughter birth weights of 74 lbs and sons average 62 lbs. Skija 36Z entered our donor program in 2020/21 as well. She is another one that does not miss with 7 progeny to date – a son by Sequoia walking the purebred pastures for Jim & Sarah Anderson - Right Cross Ranch owned in partnership with Coreen Langford – Red Ember Ranch. Daughter 46F sold through this sale to Gerry Walter – WCF Red Angus good herd in Ontario. The sire to Skija 46H is Roulette 5D a black red carrier calving ease sire owned in partnership with CAMO that has been well accepted with a son topping our bull sale this spring and daughter 132H ringing the bell at Red Round Up 2020 then coming back to Red Round Up 2021 for Jack Fraser. If EPD’s are your thing check out the calving ease EPD in the top 6% of the breed but also WW in the top 30%. If you watch the marbling EPD she also falls in the top 10% of the breed. This one will pay for herself with her first son! P.E to Red JJL Legend 83G April 15 to Aug 10, 2021. Due late February

Lot 48 These Roulette 5D females get the nod by many who stopped by for a pasture tour. I owned his black dam with Fraser Farms until this sale last fall so I am very confident in his females. This particular one is out of a very solid Ribeye female we purchased from Blair & Lois McRae – MarMac at Brandon, MB. Maternal sister Rebecca 44F resides in Ontario for Gerry & Glenda – WCF she was purchased through this sale as well. This Rebecca cow family gets it done well. I am very confident this female will be an excellent return on your investment. P.E to Red JJL Legend 83G April 15 to Aug 10, 2021. Due late February

Lot 49 These Big Rock 7D females have a little extra femininity with real solid calving ease bred into them. He was 71 lbs at birth himself with dam by Toast that is still in the herd. They will be a tick slower to mature which I do not mind at all in a female. Good things take time! Her name says it all - Princess 57H shows a lot of eye appeal with a very desirable head and front end. She is dropping down a really nice udder and will pass on her strongly bred in calving ease. Her dam Princess 711E is a stout moderate made, feed efficient female that has been noticed by many on summer pasture tours. The Princess cow family is a long standing cow family for JJL Livestock and before that in the Riverdale herd. P.E to Red JJL Legend 83G April 15 to Aug 10, 2021. Due late February

Lot 50 Here’s a heifer with the nuts and bolts that combines some very influential females from our herd, Sensational 58W, Skija 67A and where this cow family all started the Kitty 230J cow sired by the timeless Bomber bull! Now a female like this doesn’t go out of style with her structure, balance to go along with her overall eye appeal. Add in the calving ease proponent of this good heifer and here is one to check out sale day! P.E to Red JJL Legend 83G April 15 to Aug 10, 2021

Lot 51 Now here’s a pedigree I find intriguing in the twist in her pedigree and with some golden oldies that back up this future brood matron she still carries numbers that keep things relevant. First the old Final Deal 78Z bull who was a calving ease sensation for us as well as his son 16E from Leon Roy and his good old Riverdale cow by the Hercules bull who flew under the radar at Soo Line. Now we have Sequoia out of the famed 70M cow and couple that up with Sniper, maybe Rambo’s best son out of Hansen donor the Prospect 26B cow. The whole pedigree boasts productive cows that have been productive. Maternal brother sold through our bull sale two years ago with another son slated for 2022. There is always an appreciation for those workhorse, no nonsense cows, this girl has what it takes to be that. P.E to Red JJL Legend 83G April 15 to Aug 10, 2021

Lot 52 Another solid Deal 16E daughter from a real nice cow that we purchased from our friends at Emmatt Creek, they’re doing a nice job at their place breeding a quality set of cattle and is worth the stop to see! One of the selling points for us was the good Ruby cow family from Mar Mac who’s anchored their red program over the years. Bred for a mid February calf by the Legend bull from JJL and we are absolutely thrilled with his calves hence giving him a big group of females to breed this summer, the coupon should be a dandy! P.E to Red JJL Legend 83G April 15 to Aug 10, 2021. Due mid February

Lot 53 Another powerfully bred Big Rock 7D daughter, great color, great lines and a set of numbers that puts her in the top 1% for CE and top 4% for birthweight. Now you know we aren’t basing any selections on EPD’s but when you let the numbers sort themselves this is what you end up with. Little different twist on her pedigree with the Max bull that did a fantastic job Double C Red Angus at Foam Lake. The Huckleberry is thought by many to be one of the top breeding sons of Mulberry himself. Power, performance, maternal ability and a great service lends a great opportunity to take this bred heifer home and watch her develop for years to come. Lot 54 Big Rock 7D does it again on this balanced heifer that is medium in her stature but just has that look that her calves are going to be as big as she is in the years to come. Hard to fault in her kind, not overpowering but when we seen her as a heifer at the TOC here in Saskatoon we figured she’d be good property to own and is a result of a first calf heifer. Jagger was the talk a few falls ago when he was campaigned and sold through the TOC himself, admired for his soundness and fleshing ability….the kind that makes Angus as popular for a reason. Lot 55 Here’s a Next Step daughter that will catch you eye for two reasons….One she’s a Next Step and they all have that phenotype that catches your eye in their makeup, lots of body, great foot and style. Reason two, look at this outcross pedigree that screams cow maker deluxe with an outcross flair, Next Ste, Kodiak, New Trend and of course the granddam 22L! You might drive the wheels off your truck this fall to find a more predictably bred female then this heifer. Trace the years of production throughout her pedigree, it’s for real! Lot 56 The Maria cow family is one that is absolutely near and dear to our hearts and it all started with the 2J cow as she served us well over the years leaving us seventeen calves and producing into her teenage years. Of course we have Ghost Rider and his influence in our herd will be felt forever siring cattle that were just functional and sound with a little extra punch to them. The sire, NRA has served his purpose well for us with his calving ability and quality of his calves as well, add in Red Kodiak on more time for good measure. Franchise – Owned with Red Ember Ranch. You may remember a Franchise son a couple years back at Brylor that topped their sale at $27000 and here he is folks! His sire was $ 105000 high seller in Washington and his dam Reba 49D has become one of the top donors for Bryan & Mark. Those of you who know me well know I like to be a little patient with genetics. I am very pleased to say this stud is doing a great job and you will hear more about him and his progeny in the near future. For now I can tell you he bred a few heifers before he left Brylor and Bryan could not be happier – a pair of heifers to the US this summer at $10000 apiece and three sons (I hear there is at least one that is a standout) in the upcoming 51st Annual Brylor Bull Sale on Dec 3. I now have sons in the bull pen that I am quite happy with and one heifer in particular that is unreal. Coreen now reports that he has done an outstanding job on breeding at her place this summer. Check out the embryos on offer by him on a few of our proven donor females.

I have really high expectations for this very eye appealing young son of Kargo. This guy had well above average testicle size and great shape as well. I just love his front end and how he carries it up into his calving ease head. His dam is from the highly regarded Miss Deal cow family with awesome production. Great grand dam is CAA Premier dam and if you go a little further back you will find a very good female I purchased from Riverdale at their dispersal. Service sire for a number of the bred hiefers.
