From all of us at Fladeland Livestock, welcome to the 2024 bull sale. Once again, the year flew by. The boys kept us busy as always with hockey, baseball, 4H and junior shows. They had a successful year but one of the biggest highlights was winning Grand Champion steer at the Weyburn 4H Regional Show. With the drought last summer and fall, we culled extra hard and we feel this group of sale bulls may be our most solid group of two year old bulls we have ever had. If you have any questions regarding the bulls or want to come see them before the sale, call Del at 306-869-8123. Find us on Facebook or at www. fladelandlivestock.com to check out the videos of the bulls. Once again, you can bid online at LiveAuctions.tv Thank you for your past, present and future support.
Del, Lisa, Dawson, Rylan and Brayden Fladeland
~On May 5, 2023, we said “good bye” to Louelle. The farm was a special place to her and she was always there whenever we needed her - whether it be at home or a cattle show. Louelle loved spending time with the boys, she supported them and truly was their biggest fan. ~On August 22, 2023, our family lost a dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Grandma Gertie lived to be 100 years old and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

This Gronk son has been one of our favorites from day one. He is a beast like his name would have it. King Kong 19K is heavy muscled, big ribbed, wide based and sound. We feel he should pass down these traits along with the cow power from his nice uddered dam Fladeland Driver 130D who continues to do a tremendous job for us each year.

Moderate, stout and easy fleshing is how we describe FLAD 20K. He has a cool pedigree combining the curve bending sires Element and Fed Ex on the top side of the pedigree with the performance of Right Combination, and Gung Ho, all these sires have been herd building bulls in the industry. We feel 20K could be a bull that could work on both cows and heifers in the right operation.

Here is our sale feature. Kill Switch is dark red, well balanced and very complete. He is very impressive from any angle you see him whether its on the move or just standing still posing with his cool phenotype. He has extra thickness, width, tremendous volume, and is big nutted. We feel he is one of the better Red Balancer bulls we have come across and feel he has a bright future with lots to offer any program. His dam, Fladeland Fire Cracker 93F ET, is a full sib to Fladeland Gronk 23G ET who was the 2021 Grand Champion Bull at Canadian Western Agribition.

Kid Rock has a bit more stretch than his brothers but still maintains the key traits of his sire FIR River Dragon 105D. Those very important features are extra hair, added volume, large scrotal and a mellow disposition. Kid Rock adds a nice skull design, a sharp front end and extra neck extension. His dam, Fladeland Elegance 15E, is a direct daughter of JRI Gung Ho and the popular Fladeland Sparks Fly 29Z who are both exceptional female makers.

RWG Green Light is a bull I wish we would have used more of in the past few years. The daughters are easy doing, with tons of volume and have excellent udders. The sons have lots of mass and volume, they are great haired and have good structure. We only have two sons selling this year - FLAD 41K and FLAD 100K. Unfortunately, Green Light had a career ending injury this summer so these two bulls may be the last we will have to offer.

Here is a proven mating of the calving ease and growth of FLAD 60A and the power of RWG Green Light. 100K is backed by his paternal grand dam RWG Kitty’s Dream 6526 who is one of the breeds most influential donor cows who is continuing to build her legacy.

104K is one of our thickest bulls in the pen. With him being wide based and big topped, he is just overall solid. If you dig into this pedigree you will see AJB Farmstrong 28C who has sired functional, popular bulls in past sales and he makes wicked females just like 103G. By adding the power of Fladeland Gronk 23G ET into the mix, this combination resulted in FLAD 104K who has both performance and maternal strength.

It is such an honour for us to welcome you to our 2024 bull sale! We are so grateful to everyone who supports us throughout the year and thankful to our loyal customers for your continued support. The cattle are the vehicle to the people and our cattle have brought some of the most amazing people into our lives! A huge thank you to the Fladeland family for their continued willingness to be part of this venture with us. 2023 was another year of learning and growth, challenge and success for us. As always, calving leads into bull sale season leads into breeding and things roll on from there. We enjoyed so many highlights that have become fond memories. Of course, like so many of you, we dealt with another year of drought conditions and had to think outside the box to gather necessary feed for the winter. What would this business be if it were easy?! Our fall show season was again something we only ever dreamt of. We remain in awe of any success we achieve in the show ring but not nearly as much as we are honoured by the success of our customers. Whatever small part we can play in the growth of this breed and in building excitement for its future, is truly humbling. We like to explain our philosophy around feeding and bull development. You will find bigger, fatter bulls in many other catalogs with ‘heavier’ weights. We are extremely opposed to fat bulls and believe it’s our job to make sure the one you buy lasts as long as possible. The bulls are fed a 14% bull developer pellet from Trouw Nutrition at 1.5% of body weight. They have free choice access to hay, chelated mineral and fresh straw. We do not creep feed at any stage of development and we feed all of our cattle by hand. Although it means extra work for us, we know the benefits are huge. It reduces disposition issues, allows us to sensibly manage growth and increases longevity. Our bulls have as much space as most any bullpen in the country. They are active and always moving. We could make them bigger, heavier and fatter but no one wins in that scenario. As always, our entire offering is DNA parent verified, polled and colour tested where necessary and has genomically enhanced EPD’s. This greatly increases the accuracy of EPD’s using DNA. We believe in providing you with the most accurate information to help in your selection. Our life revolves around the Gelbvieh breed! We hope you see the pride we take in our work as you evaluate the bulls. It would be our privilege to tour you through the cattle here at the farm anytime. We want you to see your bull’s mother! If you can’t make it, give us a call, use twinviewlivestock.com or we could even arrange a personal video tour! Come join in our passion for this breed! We’ll see you on March 13 if not before!

Semen Lot Left: AWB TWIN VIEW BAHA 1H ET Dam of Bold Ruler Right: AWB TWIN VIEW PREAKNESS 14H ET, Sire of Bold Ruler, Maternal Brother to Lot 33
Bold Ruler exemplifies everything we’re working towards in our breeding program. He has as much body, natural muscle shape and middle third as any Gelbvieh bull we’ve laid eyes on. He exemplifies structure! He moves like a cat and we could spend all day watching him get out and go. He was undefeated as a calf in his division and was Champion Bull in Brandon and Reserve Champion Bull at Farmfair. He topped this sale a year ago to our great friends at Golden Buckle Gelbvieh. We have a few calves coming here at Twin View but Golden Buckle will have many. They walked him heavily before returning him to us for the fall show season. He became National Champion Bull at Farmfair and won Agribition. Genetically, Bold Ruler combines some of our most foundational genetics. His dam, a direct daughter of the legendary Baha, topped Function and Finesse, now owned with Classic Cattle Company. His sire, Preakness, from the Gayle cow family was a Bull Futurity Champion. His genetic potency is second to none. We are excited to offer the only Canadian semen available for the 2024 breeding season. A special opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a great one!. Offering 40 doses in 10 dose packs.

Left: JORD MISS LULU G25, Dam of Bar None Right: AWB TWIN VIEW GYPSY 51L, Daughter of Bar None
Aaron came across Bar None while visiting Jensen Ranch in North Dakota. He was instantly drawn to him but unfortunately Bar None was not for sale. After some negotiations, we were thrilled when he came north to Twin View. He proved to calve very easily with moderate birth weights and then provide exceptional growth. We are excited about the many daughters we retained who pattern much like his own gorgeous dam. A daughter topped Function and Finesse at $18,000 then was Senior Heifer Calf Champion at Farmfair and Agribition. Another daughter was Reserve Senior Heifer Calf at Agribition. We might be most proud of his sons, however. One was undefeated all fall including President’s Classic Champion, Ultimate Legends Gelbvieh Champion, National Senior Calf Champion, Agribition Senior Calf Champion and Reserve Champion Bull, and topped it off by winning the Bull Futurity. Bar None also won the Get Of Sire class at Farmfair and Agribition. We are proud to offer your only Canadian opportunity to incorporate the exclusive and outcross Bar None to your work in 2024! Offering 40 doses in 10 dose packs.

Twin View Universal 22L ET is an impressive flushmate to the calves from our show string last fall and to lot 26. He ranks at the top of the pen in terms of dimension, shape, volume and performance EPD values. His dam, Gracie Gayle 74H, topped Function and Finesse 3.0 to MacDonell Farms. Each of her parents earned National Champion titles in their career. 74H went on to achieve her own success as Champion Female at Farmfair and Reserve Champion at Agribition before becoming a stunning mama cow. The results of her first flush prove her worth in this breed. Universal is massive in his muscle pattern, impressive in his rib shape and superbly sound. We would say he’s more extended than his champion brother and wider across his top. His recip mother wasn’t our best so he played catch up after weaning and now right where we want him to be. Universal excites us a great deal and we have no doubt his appeal will be universal! Seeing is believing they say and seeing him will help to fully appreciate all he has to offer. We think he could shake this game up!

Twin View Prodigy 69L ET is among the most intriguing bulls no matter how you choose to analyze him! It’s no surprise really when you see his dam is the immensely successful and influential Sugar 26F. With National and World titles to her credit, she continues to prove time and again she is a force to be reckoned with! Four sons have now averaged over $10,000 all seeing use in purebred herds while her only daughter to be offered was a feature in Function and Finesse last fall. Mating her to Bar None was a no brainer for us and we have a sister in the replacement pen who sure fits the bill! Prodigy is liver red, shaggy haired, extremely deep bodied, sound and packs as much maternal punch as we can put in one. His EPD profile demonstrates his versatility with above average values in nearly all traits. Prodigy will make an impact felt for years to come for the most discerning Gelbvieh enthusiasts!

Twin View Unanimous 13L ET is the fifth flushmate from the extremely successful mating between Bar None and the beautiful Gracie Gayle 74H. He is the largest framed of the group and his length of body is incredible. He comes with an awesome disposition and he would be a truly ideal complement to add pounds and power to British based females without compromising maternal capability. We really think he’ll add extra extension and big time growth in his production. If you’re like us and sometimes worry cattle might be getting a little too small in the industry then Unanimous will be one to mark highly in your catalog.

Typical of the Bar None progeny, he comes with some additional dimension and shape in a long bodied package. He was mothered by a consistent producing mama cow who we purchased from our friends at the well respected Towerview Ranch. Two maternal brothers have sold to MacDougall Ranch in BC and others to Derrick Zell and Triple G Ranch. He is always among the first prowling along the heifers and really wants to get to work. Huge potential here!

Twin View Exception 62L represents the genetic matchup that really let Bar None show his stuff. The Boxer daughters are pillars in our program and his influence will continue to be substantial for years to come. Bar None onto Boxer females was a major success! Exception’s dam is a flush mate to Mayweather, earned Dam of Merit status twice already in her career and is now a donor for us. A maternal sister to Exception was a feature in Function and Finesse to Diamond Acre Farm who have since flushed her. With the influence of Natalie, Bar None and Boxer, Exception will make unreal females and sons with the ability to grow and flesh. Unfortunately, we nearly lost his mama just before she calved with him and it took her a good chunk of the summer to bounce back. His actual performance data is not representative of his true potential. Exception will be one to tie onto and enjoy the ride!

Twin View Home Quarter 12L is the ideal bull to come next in this offering. He is a direct Natalie Boxer son making him a flushmate to the Agribition Champion and influential sire, Mayweather, and also to the dam of lot 28. We love his depth of body, how long he is and his disposition. If we didn’t have so many females directly related to him we would be very sure to draw some semen for our own use. Home Quarter is a stud who actually reminds us a great deal of The Boxer himself. With well over 200 registered progeny, The Boxer bred cows until he was nearly eight years of age and with the exceptional structural integrity of Home Quarter, we have no doubt he could follow suit!

Twin View Shameless 37L will comfortably rank among the stoutest, heaviest muscled, widest topped, boldest constructed bulls in our breed this year. He must be seen to be appreciated! In so many ways he is typical of the Mayweather progeny but when you incorporate his dam, big things are for sure! She is a gorgeous female we think the world of and have made her one of our newest donors. We have a couple ET calves on the ground that will be highlights a year from now. A full brother sold last year to Last Mountain Livestock and maternal sisters sold in Function and Finesse to MacDonell Farms and Diamond Acre Farm and are both doing an outstanding job. Shameless has a liver red hair coat that could be compared to freshly laid shag, an impeccable foot and a great disposition. He’s also got a big time marbling EPD and plenty of growth value. We have no shame in saying we like this one a whole lot. You might even say we’re shameless!

Twin View Rival 65L is another Mayweather son with so many things to appreciate. One of the key things is his Dam of Merit mama who has become a trusted production female around here with two maternal brothers working for Fairhaven Farms. He is longer sided and larger framed than many of the Mayweather progeny and comes with a stacked set carcass data. We really believe these carcass numbers will become increasingly valuable moving forward and Rival is a great opportunity to get a jump on those things. We always want to be fully transparent so it’s important to know Rival isn’t a fan of being on his own but we have no concerns at all about his use as a highly successful breeding bull. We’re sure he’ll make an impressive set of feeder cattle and his daughters will make your neighbors jealous!

Pendleton was one of the feature bulls in our 2022 bull sale to Brittain Farms. We saw so much value in him and were fortunate to freeze some semen before he left. We are so impressed by his ability to calve easily, moderate some birth weights and then press the scale down. He is the result of mating Sugar 26F to our great female maker, Tiree. We have a couple flushmate sisters here we’re quite excited about and we had a brother as part of our show string last fall. We see so much potential in Pendleton that we’ve decided we just can’t part with his brother. You’ll be hearing much more about Twin View Iconic down the road!

We think he could work on select heifers and we promise you his daughters will change the way you look at production females. He is the last calf from Disco 47X who never missed! She became a 4 time Dam of Merit and 5 time Dam of Distinction. We loved that cow so much that we decided to halter break her as an eight year old and in her only show season, she became Reserve National Champion Female. Not bad for a production cow right out of the pasture! Maternal sisters to Jim Beam have sold to Jonus Cattle and Border Ridge Gelbvieh and brothers have worked for Nolan Pharis and the Hicks family. Twin View Malt 8L is an impressive, masculine and stout made bull with an incredible amount of character. We love Malt through his front third with his tidy chest and attractive head. He explodes into a big sweeping rib with a wide top and a huge hip. Malt is the natural son of former National Champion and donor matriarch, Gayle 78E who is among the most widely admired females in our program. We were so excited about the opportunity to add some Sugar to the Gayle mix and our excitement was worth it! Interestingly, there are 5 former National Champions close in his pedigree. The guesswork is done on this one. Malt is easy to find in the pen. He’ll be the stud you can’t stop looking at!

Twin View Reserve 5L is a deep bodied bull with a ton of performance and grow bred in. The Red cow family is one of our originals and we are always so proud when a young cow like his dam knocks it out of the park on her first attempt. She is one of our few Cold War daughters and we’re starting to wish we had more because of their functionality. Reserve was right at the front of the group for adjusted weaning values with a ratio of 108 and has EPD’s in the top 20% to back that up. He could be one of the sleepers on sale day but will be a very wise investment that will pay substantial returns!

Twin View Bourbon 15L ET is a black calving ease option that is moderate and stout in his construction but has the skull design we look for in calving ease bulls. He has the look and numbers to suggest he should calve well in addition to the genetic makeup to back that up. He ranks in the top 10% for direct CE and the Rainbow cow family is well known here for light birth weights and short gestations. His donor dam has other sons working for long time friends and customers, the Bertschy family and the Little’s. Bourbon is a flush mate to lot 36 and maternal brother to lot 37. We love a calving ease bull that is more than an easy first birth. Bourbon is just that!

Twin View Scotch 3L ET is another dominant force from our show string last fall and was Reserve National Senior Bull Calf Champion. He has impressed us from the word ‘go’! We designed this mating to create calving ease options our customers look for. We got that and so much more! He came with just a 70 pound birth weight from a big recip cow and ranks in the top 20% of the breed for direct CE. Scotch’s ability to grow and keep up with the power bulls all summer captured our attention and we love his massive muscle shape and length of body. Our goal is to have our cattle accepted within the industry, not simply the breed. While at Farmfair, a Simmental breeder we respect a great deal stopped and did a double take while Scotch was in the aisle. His words, “He is a good one!” Good ones are good regardless of the breed!

Twin View Prestige 124L was part of our show string last fall at the National Show where he was Intermediate Calf Champion. He has forced us to break a lot of our own rules but all for good reason. Prestige is an end of March born natural calf from the Rainbow 123D cow making him a maternal brother to lots 35 and 36. We typically do not catalog bulls born after sale day but Prestige has kept up every step of the way. He had weaning and yearling ratios of 109 and ranked #1 for adjusted weights at each of those measures as well. We admire his smooth design and length of spine and the integrity of his structure. A true power bull who’s easy on the eyes and can make high quality sons and daughters alike? You bet! Prestige!

Our black females are quite calving ease oriented and so we were always on the hunt for a black power option to add meat, muscle and shape. It turns out, the one we were looking for was right here! Valhalla is a direct son of the Baha donor and offered us a different pedigree to work with being out of the Chico Loco bull. Valhalla calves are consistently high performing and extremely impressive from an early age. They come out wide topped and stout right from day one. We fully admit they are not calving ease cattle but this industry still sells our calves by the pound. Valhalla’s first daughters are calving now and that’s made us even more glad we held onto him for ourselves. Valhalla cattle are extra!

Twin View Combat 1L is long and sleek in his design in a hairy and attractive package with an extremely balanced EPD profile. His young mother will never win a beauty contest but she’s got the makings of a hard working and functional mama cow much like her own. The Witta 75Y cow became a three time Dam of Distinction and was very good to us over the years but didn’t give us many daughters so Combat’s mother is our only remaining Witta. Bulls from this family have sold to Gary Lehr and Sierra Stewart. Despite a short gestation and a very light birth weight, we don’t recommend Combat on heifers until you’ve used him for a year. Genetically, he’s got all the power you need to power up your calf crop!

Twin View Commodore 35L is an impressive beast from a meat and potatoes perspective. He’s stout made, heavily constructed and extremely good from a structural point of view. He was raised by a Gypsy female, a family that has become trusted, go to cows around here. Maternal sisters sold through Function and Finesse to Silver Line Farm and Goodview Gelbvieh and Gypsy 130E just calved as I write this with a full brother to Commodore. We feel Commodore is a license to print money if you sell by the pound. He’s sure to make a pen full of easy feeding, stretchy, hairy and highly profitable calves!

Grizzly Red remains one of the most impressive beasts to ever walk our pastures. We have told his story many times and we really think his contributions to the breed haven’t been fully experienced yet. He sold here a year ago to MacDonell Farms and semen shares to a group of progressive breeders so we have no doubt his influence is just beginning. His daughters are calving here again and they are proving to be ideal Gelbvieh females with lots of milk and production ability. Grizzly’s versatility is quite impressive and we continue to use him successfully on heifers. A Grizzly daughter secured as much interest as any in Function and Finesse last fall as a part of that lot 1 pick of three. She then became National Reserve Senior Calf Champion and is currently being flushed. The Grizzly story is just beginning!

Twin View White Noise 26L is a prospect we’ve had our eye on from an early age. We had him short listed to be part of our show team last fall and we think he offers a world of potential. The Boe cow family has become known for their ability to create high interest bulls each year including Bojangles, Bad Habit and Knock Out who are all maternal brothers to White Noise’s dam. Koziak Land and Cattle purchased a maternal sister to White Noise for their progressive program. White Noise also represents a great opportunity to get an early jump on the growing demand for carcass data. His numbers for carcass traits are all above average and as an added bonus his daughters will be sweet, sweet, sweet!

Twin View Late Night 11L is a red calving ease option no matter how you choose to analyze him. From a build point of view, he is tidy skulled and smooth shouldered in a moderate package. By the numbers, he started at just 72 pounds and has a direct calving ease EPD of 16 with a negative birth weight number. His dam comes from the well known mating between Baha and the great female maker, Get N Go. She is a flushmate to a past Function and Finesse high seller. Here’s one that’s maybe poorly named because we don’t think Late Night will cause you any late nights come calving season.

Twin View Play Maker 105L is a young bull with a world of potential when it comes to creating valuable offspring. He is the natural calf from one of our newest donors. Flicker 7F offers us an outcross pedigree and we are so excited to have calves coming soon from her and Bold Ruler. A maternal brother to Play Maker sold last year to the Bertschy family and we have a beautiful maternal sister here who is the dam of lot 43. Play Maker’s performance and maternal values are impressive and his weaning and yearling ratios support those EPD’s with ratios of 103 at each weighing. We were taught many years ago that the quickest way to add pounds to an animal is to make them longer and Play Maker is about as long bodied as they come!

Vendetta is a bull raised here. We felt he offered so much real world value with a different genetic twist. We had him as part of our show string where he became National Junior Calf Champion. He sold through this sale to Stone Gate Farm and also has calves coming in Australia. We kept a semen interest in him and we were so thrilled with his first calf crop that we used him much heavier in his sophomore year. Once again this year, we are thrilled with the calves! They are hairy and dark red, long bodied and have more power and early performance than we expected in addition to moderate birth and calving ease. We also have a maternal sister who just calved for the first time and she’s stunning! Vendetta is a bull we’ll use for years to come!

Twin View Clash 36L is a dark red, high performing bull with maternal capability to burn! We love the way he’s put together and appreciate all the extras he offers right down to his dark hoof. We have actually talked about him maybe as much as any in terms of his future as a herd bull here at Twin View. Clash ranks in the top 10% of the breed for weaning and had a ratio of 108. His young dam is a maternal sister to lot 42 and we have high hopes for her moving forward. She is a Tiree daughter, a bull we went back to using because of his daughters. That was a sire group we didn’t fully appreciate until those females began climbing the ranks of our program. Clash will be one to mark very well with confidence. We think he’s the real deal!

Twin View Scrappy 42L is a more rugged and boldly constructed Vendetta son who ranks in the top 15% of the breed for weaning and yearling values. The Rosemary cow family is a relatively new one around here but one we are so impressed with. Scrappy’s dam is one of our larger framed cows and she’s already proven she can hold her own with the best of them. A maternal brother to Scrappy is doing an awesome job at Twin Bridge Farms and we are fortunate to have two maternal sisters including one of our favourite first calvers. Scrappy is another of those well rounded prospects we believe will pay big time return on investment!
