Romantic City of China—Dalian
DALIAN Dalian is a major city and seaport in China, with a coastline of 1,906 kilometers. It has mild climate which never boils in summer and never freezes much in winter. So Dalian gets the nickname of “the window of northeast China”, ”the pearl of north China” and “the romantic city of China”. What is more, because of its fresh air, mild climate, high afforestation
rate,
convenient
transportation
and
comparatively cleaner streets. Dalian was named China`s most livable city by China Daily in 2006. Additionally, there are many Japanese and Russian heritages preserved in Dalian. Dalian International Conference Centre has been the venue of the Annual Meeting of the New Champions(“Summer Davos”) since 2007. Every June, the China International Software & Information Service Fair is held in Dalian World Expo Center. Officials from overseas government departments, CEOs of World Top 500, well-known consulting firms and overseas IT associations attend the fair each year.

Food As a coastal city, Dalian has varieties of seafood, which is also comparatively cheap.
And as an international city, Dalian also has many kinds of very native foreign food.
Transportation Not many people ride bicycles in Dalian because of the hilly roads. Dalian is also one of the many cities in China where there are few motorcycles, because motorcycle riding on most roads is banned by law. The city has a comprehensive bus system and an efficient Dalian Metro system, usually called Qinggui. As of 2014, new lines and expansion of
the Metro system are under way. Dalian has a recently (2006) expanded international airport, Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport, with direct flights to the most major cities in China, and to some cities in Japan, South Korea, Russia and other countries. In 2013, the airport was the 17th busiest airport in China with 14,083,131 passengers.
