5. DROP OUT RATE

Data above showed the trend of the drop out rate for both Junior and Senior High School . For Junior High School, the data generally decreased from 1.77% in SY 2018 to 0.36% in SY 2021. However, there is a different picture for the Senior High School, it’s drop out rate has fluctuated but generally increased over the last four years from 0.96% in 2019 to 2.18% in 2022.

The data show that learners who no longer participate in school come from the Grade 10 level and the Senior High School level. Further, there are equal number of male and female learners who dropped out from class.

Based on the data, work tops it at 36%. Having family problem follows at 27% while 17% of the dropped-out learners either changed residence or became pregnant. The lowest reason is lack of interest.
