Dear Fans: It is my pleasure to welcome you to the annual Florida Georgia Football Game, a much-loved tradition here on Florida’s First Coast and beyond. This weekend’s festivities are built upon the energy of two dynamic schools, their loyal fans and some of the most talented student athletes and coaches ever to take the field. Since 1933, Jacksonville has proudly hosted this iconic match-up between the University of Florida and the University of Georgia. This weekend has always offered much more than a legendary college football rivalry, and I am pleased to showcase our beautiful river city, this weekend and always, as a premier destination for both sports and entertainment. On behalf of the greater Jacksonville community, I extend a hand of welcome to Gators and Bulldogs alike as fans, players and coaches gather in sportsmanship for an exciting weekend. For those of you joining us for the first time, I hope you will find an opportunity to enjoy the many unique amenities Northeast Florida has to offer, including our vibrant Downtown, the beautiful St. Johns River, millions of square feet of prime retail shopping, championship golf courses and miles of gorgeous beaches. Again, welcome! As mayor, I wish you the very best during your stay and invite you to come back soon and often. Sincerely, Lenny Curry Mayor

The 20th Annual Merrill Lynch | Bank of America Florida Georgia Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Presented by Ruth’s Chris Steak House
Friday, October 30 at 11:30 a.m. Located inside the US Assure West Club at EverBank Field In recognition of the nation’s premier collegiate rivalry, the Jacksonville Sports and Entertainment Board created the Florida Georgia Hall of Fame to acknowledge the many great records, performances, career highlights, and outstanding memories that have made the Florida Georgia game one of college football’s greatest traditions. This year’s inductees are legendary Bulldogs Richard Seymour and Rex Robinson with Gator greats Chris Leak and Jabar Gaffney! The featured emcee is TV personality Brent Martineau.
2014 Hall Of Fame Inductees: James Bates (UF) , Pat Dye (UGA) and Ben Zambiasi (UGA).
HALL OF FAME DISPLAY The Florida Georgia Hall of Fame will be on display on Saturday, October 31 at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. For more information, visit FLGA.org or call the Jacksonville Sports and Entertainment Office at (904) 630-3600.
2015 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES
These four outstanding individuals will join current Hall of Fame members for their roles in making the Florida Georgia Game the storied rivalry that it is today. JABAR GAFFNEY Jacksonville native Jabar Gaffney played two seasons at Florida and earned recognitions including SEC Freshman Player of the Year and the Paul Warfield Award. He left his mark on this rivalry as well. In his first game, Gaffney caught eight passes and one touchdown as the Gators rolled to a 34-23 win. He remains the only Gator receiver with two seasons of 1,000 receiving yards. CHRIS LEAK A four-year starter at quarterback and former top-ranked recruit, Chris Leak led the Gators return to national prominence. A two-time team captain and named to the SEC All-Freshman team, Leak left as the school’s all-time leader in passing yards (11,213). After a run in the NFL and CFL, Leak coached for two seasons at Florida before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this year in their football development program. REX ROBINSON A highly recruited kicker, Robinson chose the Bulldogs and would be put to work quickly. A star all four years, he earned recognition on the All-SEC Freshman team after being the team’s leading scorer. His remarkability was recognized during Georgia’s magical 1980 national championship season, earning All-America honors his senior season. Following college, Robinson kicked one season for the New England Patriots in 1982. RICHARD SEYMOUR Richard Seymour, a seven-time Pro Bowler, is one of the greatest defensive linemen in Georgia history. He led the Bulldogs in tackles with 74 and an 8-4 record with a win over Purdue in the 2000 Outback Bowl, earning him first team All-SEC honors. That national respect continued throughout his NFL career earning three Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots.

A JACKSONVILLE TRADITION SINCE 1933
BY THE NUMBERS 1904
For the University of Georgia’s athletic department, the 1904 game held in Macon, Georgia, kicked the series off with a 52 - 0 win. Florida’s University Athletic Association does not count the loss in their tally as the team that they fielded was from an institution then known as the Florida Agricultural College, based in Lake City. This was one year before the Florida Legislature established what we know as the University of Florida and it was then one year later in 1906 that the Gators officially established their football team.
1915
The first recognized game by both institutions took place in Jacksonville, Florida.
Florida 1928 National High-Scoring Champions 336-44
1928
Florida experienced its first victory in the rivalry.
1933
Starting in 1926, the game has been an annual event and since 1933, has called Jacksonville home, the only exceptions being 1994 and 1995.
49-41-2
The streaks of dominance by both sides seem to run in decades, but the current record favors Georgia at 49 40 - 2 (50 - 41 - 2 if you’re part of the camp that counts 1904).
