Welcome to Jacksonville “The Georgia-Florida Football Classic is a hugely popular tradition, built upon the energy of two great schools, countless fans and some of the most talented student athletes and coaches ever to take the field. Jacksonville is proud to have hosted this iconic rivalry since 1933, showcasing our city as a premier destination for great sports events. The weekend has always been much more than a football game, and this year promises to be better than ever. For those of you visiting Jacksonville for the first time, I invite you to come back and visit often. Let the game begin!” — Mayor Alvin Brown, City of Jacksonville

This year’s inductees are Pat Dye and Ben Zambiasi from the University of Georgia and Louis Oliver and James Bates from the University of Florida. The featured emcee is TV personality, Chris Porter. The Georgia-Florida Hall of Fame will be on display on Saturday, November 1 at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and also inside Touchdown Showdown which is outside EverBank Field’s South End Zone. For more information, call the Jacksonville Sports and Entertainment Office at (904) 630-3600.
2013 Hall Of Fame Inductees: Peter Anderson (UGA), Matt Stinchcomb (UGA), Lindy Infante (UF) and Jevon Kearse (UF).
2014 Hall of Fame Inductees These four outstanding individuals will join current Hall of Fame members for their roles in making the Georgia vs. Florida Football Game the storied match that it is today. PAT DYE – LINEMAN, 1957 – 1960 Dye was a first team All-SEC lineman in 1958 and earned All-American honors in 1959 and 1960. He went on to coach for 17 years in the SEC and was named SEC Coach of the Year in 1983, ’87 and ’88. Dye was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2005 as a coach. In 1959, Dye deflected a Gator pass into a teammate’s arm for a touchdown-scoring interception over the Gators. BEN ZAMBIASI – LINEBACKER, 1975 – 1977 Zambiasi led the Bulldogs in tackles three straight years from 1975 - 1977. He finished his career with 467 career tackles – a school record that still stands today. Zambiasi earned All-SEC Honors during his last three seasons and helped lead the Bulldogs to the 1976 SEC Championship. LOUIS OLIVER – DEFENSIVE BACK, 1984 – 1988 Oliver came to Florida as a walk-on in 1984, earned a scholarship in 1985, became a starter in 1986, and then was named a first-team All-American in 1987 and 1988. He was one of three finalists for the Thorpe Defensive Back of the Year Award in 1988. He went on to play seven seasons in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins (1989 – 1993, 1995-1996) and the Cincinnati Bengals (1994). JAMES BATES – LINEBACKER, 1993 – 1996 Bates started 20 games in his career and made 166 total tackles from his middle linebacker spot. He played 45 games in his career and was Florida’s leading tackler during that span. Bates is now a college football analyst for Fox Sports and their college football show, “The NEW College Football Show”.

Disabled guests in sections 113-133 and 217-229 should use the elevator between Gates 2 and 3 in the north end zone. WHEELCHAIR ESCORT SERVICE: The Wheelchair Escort Service is available at all perimeter gates of the stadium. This service will assist disabled patrons from the entrance gate to their assigned seat. The Wheelchair Escort Service will return post-game to pick up patrons at their assigned seats and will return them to their original entry gate. If disabled patrons need constant use of a wheelchair, we ask that they provide their own. The Wheelchair Escort Service is intended to relieve those in need of the initial long entry and exit walks. PRE-GAME DROP-OFF / POST-GAME PICK-UP PROCEDURES: Drop-off: A designated drop-off location has been created at Gate 1, to allow those with a disability to be dropped off as close as possible to EverBank Field. Drivers who drop off disabled patrons should enter Lot M (use entrance at Georgia Street and Adams Street) and tell the parking attendant and the police officer that you are dropping off a guest with disabilities. Once the guest has been dropped off, the driver must exit Lot M if he/she does not have a parking pass for that lot. Please note that cars found in designated lots without the proper pass will be towed at the owner’s expense. Pick-up: Post-event traffic will flow away from the stadium for approximately 30 – 45 minutes after the game. Disabled patrons can use the Post-game Golf Cart Shuttle Service (Gate 1/Tented area) or wait at the closest gate location until the traffic pattern has returned to two-way. PORTABLE SANITATION SERVICES: Due to safety issues surrounding sanitation trucks and portolet rentals in the Sports Complex Area, Amason’s is the exclusive provider for SMG managed facilities. For the safety of fans, other portolet companies will not be permitted to solicit business in city-owned parking lots and property in the Sports Complex Area. For reservations, call 904-276-4829.
BY THE NUMBERS
1904
For the University of Georgia’s athletic department, the 1904 game held in Macon, Georgia, kicked the series off with a 52 - 0 win. Florida’s University Athletic Association does not count the loss in their tally as the team that they fielded was from an institution then known as the Florida Agricultural College, based in Lake City. This was one year before the Florida Legislature established what we know as the University of Florida and it was then one year later in 1906 that the Gators officially established their football team.
1928 Florida experienced its first victory in the rivalry.
1915
The first recognized game by both institutions took place in Jacksonville, Florida.
6 1933
Georgia won the first six meetings in dominating fashion.
Starting in 1926, the game has been an annual event and since 1933, has called Jacksonville home, the only exceptions being 1994 and 1995.
49-40-2 The streaks of dominance by both sides seem to run in decades, but the current record favors Georgia at 49 - 40 - 2 (50 - 40 - 2 if you’re part of the camp that counts 1904).
