The Processional The Bishop:

Blessed be God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Bless the Lord who forgives all our sins.

The People:

His mercy endures for ever.

The Bishop:

Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy Name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Nicene Creed The People:

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit He became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day He rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His Kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

The Examination The Bishop: (To the Ordinand)

My brothers and my sisters, the Church is the family of God, the body of Christ, and the temple of the Holy Spirit. All baptized people are called to make Christ known as Savior and Lord, and to share in the renewing of his world. Now you are called to work as pastor, elder, priest, and teacher, together with your bishop and fellow presbyters, and to take your share in the councils of the Church.

As a priest, it will be your task to proclaim by word and deed the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to fashion your life in accordance with its precepts. You are to love and serve the people among whom you work, caring alike for young and old, strong and weak, rich and poor. You are to preach, to declare God’s forgiveness to penitent sinners, to pronounce God’s blessing, to share in the administration of Holy Baptism and in the celebration of the mysteries of Christ’s Body and Blood, and to perform the other ministrations entrusted to you.

In all that you do, you are to nourish Christ’s people from the riches of his grace, and strengthen them to glorify God in this life and in the life to come.

My brothers and sisters, do you believe that you are truly called by God and his Church to this priesthood?

The Response:

I believe I am so called.

The Bishop:

Do you now in the presence of the Church commit yourself to this trust and responsibility?

The Response:

I do.

The Bishop:

Will you respect and be guided by the pastoral direction and leadership of your bishop?

The Response:

I will.

The Bishop:

Will you be diligent in the reading and study of the Holy Scriptures, and in seeking the knowledge of such things as may make you a stronger and more able minister of Christ?

The Response:

I will.

The Bishop:

Will you endeavor so to minister the Word of God and the sacraments of the New Covenant, that the reconciling love of Christ may be known and received? IV

The Response:

The Bishop:

Will you undertake to be faithful to all whom you are called to serve, laboring together with them and with your fellow ministers to build up the family of God?

The Response:

I will.

The Bishop:

Will you do you best to pattern your life [and that of your family, or household, or community] in accordance with the teachings of Christ, so that you may be a wholesome example to your people?

The Response:

I will.

The Bishop:

Will you persevere in prayer, both in public and in private, asking God’s grace, both for yourself and for others, offering all your labors to God, through the mediation of Jesus Christ, and in the sanctification of the Holy Spirit?

The Response:

I will.

The Bishop:

May the Lord who has given you the will to do these things give you the grace and power to perform them.

The Response:

Amen.

The Homily

The Reverend Raphaelle Paulette Darden

The Act of Consecration The Purification

(The Ordinands Sanctify Themselves for Sacred Service.)

The Ordinand:

I offer my hands, my mind, my heart, and my will to the Service of The Lord.

The Unction

(The Ordinands kneel facing the Bishop with presbyters standing with the Bishop. The Bishop Anoints the Ordinands for Sacred Service.)

The Bishop:

God and Father of all, we praise you for your infinite love in calling us to be a holy people in the Kingdom of your Son Jesus our Lord, who is the image of your eternal and invisible glory, the firstborn among many brethren, and the head of the Church. We thank you that by His death He has overcome death, and, having ascended into heaven, has poured His gifts abundantly upon your people, making some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry and the building up of his body.

Therefore, Father, through Jesus Christ your Son, give your Holy Spirit to these and fill them with grace and power, and make them a priest in your Church.

May they exalt you, O Lord, in the midst of your people; offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to you; boldly proclaim the gospel of salvation; and rightly administer the sacraments of the New Covenant. Make them a faithful pastor, a patient teacher, and a wise counselor. Grant that in all things they may serve without reproach, so that your people may be strengthened and your Name glorified in all the world.

All this we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever.

The People:

Amen.

The Investiture The Collar

The Collar worn by the priest was first adorned in the days of the Apostles when those who dared to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ were beheaded for their ministry. Some thought it their advantage to go to the smith’s house and ask for a metal ring made to fit around their necks. Afterward they would take a white linen cloth and wrap it around the metal ring. If they survived the blacksmiths fire; then perhaps the ax would fall upon the metal ring and keep them alive. They may leave injured, halt, or crippled; but if alive there remained another opportunity to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of Christ. VII

The Cassock

The Cassock was first worn as a white garment; do to Christian priest becoming martyrs in the Roman Coliseum being ripped or pulled apart by lions, horses, or elephants the color was changed to take away the applause and cheers of an enthusiastic crowd at the sight of blood. Church Leaders wore the scarlet, the color of blood; while priest took black the color of death. These ordained today stand offering their lives as if to have died so that others may live.

The Cincture

The girdle worn with the cassock is the reminder to straighten and strengthen ones self; to take on courageous faith while preaching Truth.

The Surplice

The Surplice is that white garment worn by the presbyter symbolizing the priestly work entrusted to them. It is the statement of being the servant intercessor of men to God; that men may freely received Christ.

The Cross

The Cross is the reminder of the death of Jesus Christ; the sacrifice of His life so that others would be saved. To the priest the Cross is the statement of their service to mankind. It is also the reminder that they must die daily, take up their Cross and daily go to the cross of Calvary.

The Tippet

The Tippet is the prophetic mantle given to the Priest. It symbolizes God’s authority and anointing to stand in His stead; to hear confessions; to act and speak as the servant of God. It authenticates the Presbyter as one who can not only be trusted with the secrets of men, but also of one who can be trusted with the mysteries of God.

In The Service Of The King Lift Him Up Words: Alfred H. Ackley Music: Bentley D. Ackley

I am happy in the service of the King. I am happy, O so happy! I have peace and joy that nothing else can bring, In the service of the King. Refrain In the service of the King Every talent I will bring. I have peace and joy and blessing In the service of the King. I am happy in the service of the King. I am happy, O so happy! Through the sunshine and the shadow I can sing, In the service of the King. Refrain I am happy in the service of the King. I am happy, O so happy! To His guiding hand forever I will cling, In the service of the King. Refrain I am happy in the service of the King. I am happy, O so happy! All that I possess to Him I gladly bring, In the service of the King. Refrain

Words & Music: Johnson Oatman, Jr.

How to reach the masses, men of every birth, For an answer, Jesus gave the key: “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, Will draw all men unto Me.” Refrain: Lift Him up, lift Him up; Still He speaks from eternity: “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, Will draw all men unto Me.” Oh! the world is hungry for the Living Bread, Lift the Savior up for them to see; Trust Him, and do not doubt the words that He said, “I’ll draw all men unto Me.” Refrain Don’t exalt the preacher, don’t exalt the pew, Preach the Gospel simple, full, and free; Prove Him and you will find that promise is true, “I’ll draw all men unto Me.” Refrain Lift Him up by living as a Christian ought, Let the world in you the Savior see; Then men will gladly follow Him Who once taught, “I’ll draw all men unto Me.” Refrain

Wonderful Grace of Jesus Words & Music: Haldor Lillenas

Wonderful grace of Jesus, Greater than all my sin; How shall my tongue describe it, Where shall its praise begin? Taking away my burden, Setting my spirit free; For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me. Refrain Wonderful the matchless grace of Jesus, Deeper than the mighty rolling sea; Wonderful grace, all sufficient for me, for even me. Broader than the scope of my transgressions, Greater far than all my sin and shame, O magnify the precious Name of Jesus. Praise His Name! Wonderful grace of Jesus, Reaching to all the lost, By it I have been pardoned, Saved to the uttermost, Chains have been torn asunder, Giving me liberty; For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me. Refrain Wonderful grace of Jesus, Reaching the most defiled, By its transforming power, Making him God’s dear child, Purchasing peace and heaven, For all eternity; And the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

How Firm A Foundation Words: John Rippon Music: Joseph Funk

How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord, Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word! What more can He say than to you He hath said, You, who unto Jesus for refuge have fled? In every condition, in sickness, in health; In poverty’s vale, or abounding in wealth; At home and abroad, on the land, on the sea, As thy days may demand, shall thy strength ever be. Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed, For I am thy God and will still give thee aid; I’ll strengthen and help thee, and cause thee to stand Upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand. When through the deep waters I call thee to go, The rivers of woe shall not thee overflow; For I will be with thee, thy troubles to bless, And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress. When through fiery trials thy pathways shall lie, My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply; The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design Thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine. Even down to old age all My people shall prove My sovereign, eternal, unchangeable love; And when hoary hairs shall their temples adorn, Like lambs they shall still in My bosom be borne. The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose, I will not, I will not desert to its foes; That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake, I’ll never, no never, no never forsake.

Higher Ground

Glory to His Name

I’m pressing on the upward way, New heights I’m gaining every day; Still praying as I’m onward bound, “Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

Down at the cross where my Savior died, Down where for cleansing from sin I cried, There to my heart was the blood applied; Glory to His Name!

Words & Music: Johnson Oatman, Jr.

Words & Music: Elisha A. Hoffman

Refrain: Lord, lift me up and let me stand, By faith, on Heaven’s tableland, A higher plane than I have found; Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

Refrain Glory to His Name, Glory to His Name: There to my heart was the blood applied; Glory to His Name!

My heart has no desire to stay Where doubts arise and fears dismay; Though some may dwell where those abound, My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.

I am so wondrously saved from sin, Jesus so sweetly abides within, There at the cross where He took me in; Glory to His Name!

Refrain

Refrain

I want to live above the world, Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled; For faith has caught the joyful sound, The song of saints on higher ground.

Oh, precious fountain that saves from sin, I am so glad I have entered in; There Jesus saves me and keeps me clean; Glory to His Name!

Refrain

I want to scale the utmost height And catch a gleam of glory bright; But still I’ll pray till heav’n I’ve found, “Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

Refrain

Come to this fountain so rich and sweet, Cast thy poor soul at the Savior’s feet; Plunge in today, and be made complete; Glory to His Name! Refrain

CONGRATULATIONS ELDER TEDDY MCCLINE

With Much Love and a Whole Lot of Support from your Brother (Marvis McCline); your Wife (Heavenly McCline); and, your Spiritual Brother and Friend (Curtis Turner)

26

Teddy is the oldest of nine siblings and was in various foster homes from a young age. Ted had limited support of a family structure resulting in a life of drugs, alcohol, and much crime. He has endured the roughest forms of life. I’ve noticed that Ted, since he has been saved, has changed from the street life to family life; a life of peace and service to God. - Marvis I am overjoyed for my husband; he is the star that led me to “the Child in the manger”. He is a powerful man in Christ and has influenced a multitude of people which includes our children. God Bless You Man of God! - Heavenly I have been greatly influenced by Minister Teddy! He has been my friend, my spiritual mentor and an awesome example of Christ! - Curtis

MRS. LADY ELDER JOYCE ANN STARKS-MOORE On the Blessing that comes from God when one accepts their call to ministry and is recognized by peers and other Presbyters when Holy Orders are conferred upon them. The love God has given me for you, has no limits and my joy of being one heart with you is full; but, I know God’s Joy and Love in you is now elevated and is being completed. Keep walking towards your future and step into the fullness of His Destiny in you and fulfill all God has for you! The Heavens have no limits that you cannot achieve! Be Steadfast and Unmovable that you may always abound in the Work of the Lord.

DENEYA On your elevation in The Lord. The Lord has indeed blessed the fruit of my womb; to have given birth Sons and Daughters with Destiny and Purpose. THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON YOU, BECAUSE HE HAS ANOINTED YOU TO PROCLAIM THE GOOD NEWS TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT YOU TO PROCLAIM FREEDOM FOR THE PRISONERS AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET THE OPPRESSED FREE.

LUKE 4:18 NIV

DeNeya Joi, I remember when YOU & Sauny were toddlers playing “Church” (one of your daily activities) when one particular day the anointing of The Lord came upon YOU (for real)…I will never forget how YOU walked around the house saying “Hallelujah” uncontrollably for at least twenty (20) minutes. It was amazing to see the power of GOD being deposited into your life at such a young age. What an experience! What a Joy! What a privilege and an honor GOD has bestowed upon Me! All I could do was cry and rejoice with YOU on that day.

anointing is upon Your Sons! The Love, Passion and Wisdom that YOU possess have set YOU apart from the mediocre, the average, the mere Singer. YOU have an incredible heart for GOD and for People! Who would have thought that my Daughter and I would be elevated in Ministry together. WOW GOD! I’m SO humbled and honored to have given natural birth to such a gift as YOU! Not only are YOU my Daughter but I thank GOD YOU are my Friend!

As I look at YOU today, I am in awe and still rejoicing over what GOD continues to do in your life! Your beauty, intelligence and most of all the Wisdom and Counsel YOU have are beyond Your Years! YOU have bloomed into a Phenomenal Woman, Wife and Mommy and that same

I Love YOU Forever! Moma!

After “All” your Mom has said; let me take this space to say... “I’m humbled that you would call me Dad! I Love You Much!!! 29

People say that one person can’t make a difference in the world...... But we know that isn’t true, Because we’ve seen the difference in the lives of those around you!

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

Beverley is prepared by mind; by heart; by experience; by life; by commitment; by understanding; by enlightenment; by quickening; by revelation; and by CHOICE…to take up the banner; the Cross; and commit to the Great Commission, being obedient to Christ…and taking this Gospel to all people, bringing them in for the Lord Of The Harvest; unto the Shepherd of the Sanctuary Of The Church of the People of God; trust the upbringing of the new sheep unto this anointed man or woman…

BEVERLEY,

This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

And then; with a smile and a wave, walk out back into the wilderness to gather more sheep unto salvation. Rejoice the bringing in another soul! Rejoice the Soldier of the LORD going back into the breach, standing as a Pharos: a lighthouse at land’s end; shining the light of GOD so that these lost sheep will know which way to sail, and not be lost upon the rocks as the purple twilight falls.

We are rejoicing with you on this blessed occasion. Continue speaking “Life” and light into the dark places. Continue tapping into the unlimited resources of God to bring forth everything that pertains to life and Godliness!

Loose this great woman upon the world, and behold the Glory Of God. It is one minute to midnight. Duty calls. She is chosen. I know from which I speak, for I am a fellow wayfarer and bondservant to the Lord Jesus Christ on the Road To Zion, by His command.
