THE LIFE OF WALTER MORRIS Walter was born in Forrest City, Arkansas on September 7, 1947. He was the second child of Jeff and Adeline Morris. He loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age. He was a graduate of Forrest City High School in Forrest City, Arkansas. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served as a cartographer in the Vietnam War. After leaving military service he dedicated his life to mastering the trade of carpentry. He used his skills as a master carpenter to enhance the lives of others often taking on projects for little to no pay as an act of generosity towards others. On April 12, 1976, Walter married the love of his life, Mary J. Thomas. They were blessed to have four beautiful children, Carla, Rodney, Brenda, and Lori Lynn, unfortunately Rodney and Lori Lynn, both preceded him in death. His love and devotion to

his family was extraordinary, and he was a great advocate for their success and wellbeing. He enjoyed listening to music and was incredibly fond of the Motown era and a good dose of blues. He was also a huge sports fan, keenly aware of the players and could very easily rattle off statistics and make projections for upcoming games and events. One of his favorite past times was fishing, and he was extremely gifted at repairing and restoring cars, electronics, appliances, and much more. On August 6, 2021, God welcomed his solider, Walter Morris, home. He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife of 45 years Mary, daughters, Carla Norful (Smokie) of Illinois and Brenda Morris of Little Rock, Arkansas, niece, Tonieka Johnson of West Memphis, Arkansas, daughters, Niecy Morris of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Miranda Morris (Baz) of Australia, a brother, Jeff Morris, of Wynne, Arkansas. Walter also leaves behind three incredible grandsons, Sydney Williams, Jr., Tré Norful and Ashton Norful, other grandchildren, and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly.

FOR MY HUSBAND Thank you for your endless love That will help me through each day And thank you for the memories That will never fade away. You’re the man I loved And was proud to be your wife. And every day in some small way, I will celebrate your life. As long as memories last, You will stay in my heart. Your loving wife.

~ Mary

GRANDFATHERS The love we have for Papa will never fade away. We’ll think of you, throughout each passing day. We’ll walk into the room and see his empty chair; Although we know he’s resting. We’ll feel his presence there. The memories of his laughter, His warm and loving smile, His eyes so full of happiness, His heart that of a child. Memories are forever Be they laughter or of tears, Memories we will treasure Through all the forthcoming years.

DEAR PAPA, We will miss you so much, but we are glad to know you are at peace and with the lord. As you would always say, “take it easy.” We love you! ~ SYDNEY, TRE’, AND ASHTON
