Final SketchUp

This is what my final model should look like but will have an underground layer included displayed the products of my research. I used an iso projection for a real perspective. To create this model, I will be importing each profile into 2d design to be laser cut and assembled If this building were to be built in real life this is an accurate representation of how it will look like

Final SketchUp

I have attached my final SketchUp model afterit has been imported into ArchiCAD for it to be rendered.

As the building can receive a large amount of natural light, books can be read easily inside by allowing a large amount of natural sunlight to enter freely, which will reduce the cost of running the library

I have incorporated both natural and artificial sunlight into my model to see how it distributes itself over the shape of the roof as a mixture of both. It is possible to see the shadows being cast by the overhanging roof to the east of the model. My goal was to achieve an effect like this.

Evaluation

The Renovated GoodmayesLibrary I have designed successfully incorporates open space, seating, greenery, and a meeting place in a way that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, all of which meet my initial specification. I feel as though the use of parametric architecture has allowed for a simple yet complex form that enhances the overall design of the space which meets the terms of my client brief.

One of the key strengths of my library is the incorporation of open space. The use of large windows and open floor plans creates a sense of spaciousness and allows natural light to flood the space. This not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also promotes a sense of well-being among the library's users. The open spaces also make it easier for users to navigate and find the resources they need. The seating arrangements are another standout feature of the library. The use of comfortable chairs and benches in various locations encourages users to sit down and stay a while. This allows for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience, which can encourage users to return to the library again and again.

Greenery is also integrated into the design of the library, which is an excellent way to create a more inviting and calming atmosphere. The use of plants and trees not only adds to the aesthetic appeal of the library but also has positive effects on air quality and mental health. The meeting place in the library is also well-designed. The use of a centralized location for meetings and group discussions makes it easy for users to find and use the space. The use of comfortable seating and a variety of meeting spaces also adds to the functionality of the library. I feel as though the need for a change in interior design for the underground was necessary to add to the space

Overall, the use of parametric architecture in this library has allowed for a simple yet complex form that enhances the overall design of the space. The incorporation of open space, seating, greenery, and a meeting place creates a functional and aesthetically pleasing environment that is sure to attract and retain users.
