The spring sports teams have enjoyed more success than any other season this year. The Lady Bulldog track team finished second in the district while 7 of the boys weightlifting team made it to the regional level. At the time of this printing, the softball team are back to back district champions and won their first game in the quarter final regionals with a good chance to make it to the regional finals. There have been 7 student athletes this year who have signed to continue their education and athletic careers at the next level. With the small number of student athletes in the senior class, this is a remarkable accomplishment. Four of the five seniors on the football team are going to be playing in college next fall. The only senior on the softball team will continue her career at the college level and two of the five seniors on the baseball team have also agreed to go to college and play ball. We are completing our second year and this issue is the largest one we have printed. We have gone from just 12 pages at the beginning and
now are up to 24 pages of photos about our student athletes at DeSoto County High School. Please take a moment to thank our partners in the production of this issue of the DeSoto Sports magazine. Without them, this magazine would not be possible. So please give them the opportunity to earn your business and say thanks when shopping at their businesses. We have focused on just varsity teams and especially on seniors in previous issues. We hope to include JV teams and players next year and hopefully grow this magazine to 28 or a maximum of 32 pages.
