“Japan has its very own strong motorcycle culture. Exploring it on anything other than a motorbike is, for us, unthinkable.”
T
he leading Portuguese motorycle travel magazine TREVL is sending one journalist, travelling with one photographer across Japan, during a 3 weeks journey in 2018 Spring, with the purpose to publish a cover story in the 2018 Summer edition. This article is expected to cover both cultural and nature aspects of the Rising Sun island, including a more technical analysis of the chosen motorcycle model, always considering the traveller’s perspective. Our magazine is distributed across the entire country and is made available to all of Europe via postal service and online requests. It is intended to serve the specific target of motorcycle riders who nurture the dream of travelling on two-wheels. It is considered by its readers as a collectable item, closer to a «bookazine» than to a disposable magazine. This is possible through an attention to quality materials — photography and narrative —, encouraging a more literary nature of articles, illustrated with watercoloured maps and brush paintings of motorcycles.

Given the upcoming Yamaha release of another exciting grand tourism motorbike, the Tracer 900 GT is spot on for the amount and style of touring involved in this TREVL magazine article project, perfectly capable of carrying
both the journalist-pilot and the photographer, along with the luggage necessary. Above, we share the Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z brush illustration published last 2017 Winter edition, as an example of the kind of original and artistic
elements produced exclusively for this project. This is part of a section called «X-Ray», where the traveller analyses relevant points and attributes of the used motorcycle model in a travelling environment and perspective.
