Signature Small Group Training

Why Signature Training (Small Group Training)?

Small group training offers an affordable path for clients to take advantage of a trainer’s expertise – while keeping the fun and competitiveness of a group dynamic. Groups generally never exceed eight participants which allows for one-on one instruction when needed, but still offers a high – quality workout with additional motivation from our fellow group members.

Workouts are tailored to different equipment, purpose, and more, but are still designed to provide significant benefits. You have several options as you discover what works for you. Try a class, make new friends, connect with a new trainer, and find what motivates you! You’ll love the results!

Benefits of Signature Training

• Improve your fitness in cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility and body composition

• Small groups (5-15 people) are led by a certified personal trainer to assure proper technique

• In a group setting, on-on-one attention is recognized for individual improvement

• Easily modify workouts to customize sessions as needed, but always with safety the primary concern

• Use of functional, non-traditional training techniques not found in most general fitness classes (TRX, ViPR, Olympic Barbells, Assault Bikes, Ski Ergs, Concept 2 Rowers, etc)

• High energy and motivation promotes a challenging, yet fun workout environment

• Experience social fitness, be inspired by groupmates, and get challenged (and healthy) all in one!

Assisted Stretch

Mobility and flexibility are critical components of physical performance and equally important to your overall health. Simply “stretching” may not me enough or as effective as the techniques trainers can offer. In a series of 15-minute sessions, our trainer can employ a variety of partner-assisted stretching and foam rolling techniques to maximize your results. Benefits may include:

• Reduced arthritic symptoms

• Improved posture and range of motion

• Decreased deterioration of joints

• Reduced risk of pain (low back, joints, muscles)

• Improved muscle coordination and overall movement

Private Nutrition Coaching

The J offers personalized and in-depth nutrition coaching by a licensed dietician. Nutrition coaching is a behavior modification and teaches the tools needed to eat well, not just telling you what to eat. Reasons to meet with our licensed dietician:

• To overcome a plateau towards your fitness goal

• If you struggle to lose or gain weight

• If you feel stuck in your current eating habits

• You’ve tried diets and nothing seems to work

• You’re overwhelmed or confused by nutrition information

• You want to avoid or stop taking certain medications

• You want to improve sports performance or create more efficient workouts

What you get out of the sessions:

• An analysis of your current diet and eating habits

• Tailored education and recommendations based on your current nutritional needs and eating habits

• A review of your medical history, anthropometrics, eating habits and lifestyle factors

• Individualized nutrition plan to help you attain your goals in a realistic timeline

Whether interested in weight management, performance nutrition, a healthier lifestyle, or medical nutrition therapy, schedule a consultation. Children 15 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

H.E.L.P (Healthy Eating Lifestyle Plan) Group Coaching All Ages

Most likely you’ve tried dieting before and it didn’t work; at least not in the long term. H.E.L.P is different than those typical diet plans that routinely fail you and at best leave you with no exit strategy should you happen to reach your goals. In this 8-week program you’ll get the support you deserve and learn how to follow a nutrition plan that fits your lifestyle and gets you results even when life gets crazy. Focus groups will meet weekly virtually (sessions will be recorded for viewing convenience) to discuss all things nutrition. This helpful, structured format provides you with motivation, empowerment, action plans, tips, strategies, as well as the opportunity for reflection and learning.

In 2013, the J established Sharsheret Supports STL, a program of Nishmah, and a community partner of the national Sharsheret organization. Through free personalized support and lifesaving education this program has improved lives of women and families living with or at increased genetic risk for breast or ovarian cancer. Inspired by the success of this program, the J launches The Hamsa Wellness Community. This expansion will allow for the continuation of our current activities while addressing a broader range of hereditary cancers that impact both women and men. British Swim School All Ages

We have partnered with the British Swim School to teach lessons at the Marilyn Fox Building in Chesterfield. The British Swim School (BSS) has been dedicated to teaching water survival skills to children as young as three months for more than 40 years. Like the J, BSS believes it is mission-critical to teach children to swim and to be safe while enjoying the water. With its large instructor base and our large pool, we can serve even more families in the Chesterfield area. BSS lessons are available at various times each day.

Aqua Fit: Moderate-impact, water-specific exercises designed to progressively build strength, flexibility and endurance.

Aqua Flow: Lower impact. Good choice for those with arthritis, rehabbing or new to aqua fitness.

Aqua Power: High-intensity, multi-discipline workout in the lap pool. Participants must be comfortable in all depths of the pool. Finning, treading, kick boxing, traditional water moves and more.

Aqua Power Deep: Deep water, high-intensity, zero-impact resistance training to improve muscle tone, aerobic capacity, flexibility, strength and endurance with the use of resistance equipment and flotation belts.
