Coach Doug Boe was a three-sport athlete growing up in Minneapolis. He graduated from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN where he was a captain of the football, baseball and basketball team. Coach Boe taught school in Burnsville, MN and coached men’s and women’s basketball for 34 years. His team won two state championships. Coach Boe is the only Minnesota basketball head coach to win more than 200 games each in both men’s and women’s basketball. He is a member of the Minnesota Coaches Hall of Fame and a recent inductee of the Southwest High School Hall of Fame.

Basketball training focuses on core fundamentals for all skill levels. All parts of the game will be worked on. Private workouts are customized to meet the specific needs of the player. Group workouts are great for discounted pricing and offer team skill building. Take your game to the next level.

Led by Coach Doug Boe, former two-time high school state championship winning coach and member of the High School Hall of Fame. The skills and drills camp is a great way for players to improve their game. Players will work on ball handling, shooting and passing. Players also will have an opportunity to compete. The camp will include high quality instruction in a fun environment and all skill levels are welcome to participate.

Parents work with their children in a structured environment as they learn how to properly teach and support their children in sports. Participants receive a t-shirt and a participation award. Jewish Community Center Fall 2022 Basketball Pre-K League 4-5 year olds Specifically designed for kids enrolled in Pre-K, this league starts with practices where players focus on learning how to shoot, dribble, pass and have fun playing as a team. The season concludes with games. Teams are coached by volunteer parents and consist of up to eight players. Games played at either J location. Session format is 20 minute practice followed by games led by coaches. SFC or Fox Wed 1/11-2/22 5:15-6:15pm $102m/$133p • $117m/$148p (after 11/18) Mac & Jeanette Brown Youth Basketball League K-8th grade Registration is open for boys’ and girls’ teams. Gender-specific divisions will be formed based on enrollment. Full package for K-2nd grade includes a weekday practice at either J location, 10 weekend games and a uniform. The 3rd-8th grade league features 10 weekend games with option of adding on practices and/or team uniforms for additional cost. Basketball Skills Academy K-8th grade J Basketball Skills Academy focuses on core fundamentals for all skill levels. Areas of concentration include shooting mechanics, speed and controlled dribbling, on- and-off ball defense, footwork, and offensive and defensive principles. Fee includes a jersey, seven weeks of training and small game play. An introductory class into the world of Taekwondo. This nationally accredited program introduces discipline and respect with a focus on fitness, control and technique. Little ones will have fun learning and training while building confidence and coordination.

Tournament will be a round-robin style tournament. Start times will vary based on registration. Schedules sent to participants after registration close two weeks prior to tournament start date. Participants must provide their own paddles. Players can expect to play for 1.5 hours each session (6 total games per league day). Our schedules are made in advance, but league members are given access to the league manager at all times to request scheduling accommodations. Teams must register together. Private and semi-private lessons are a perfect option for players looking to catch up or get ahead. Our lessons give the participant individualized attention to help improve or teach the basics of pickleball. You set the agenda by working with the instructor to determine goals. The instructor will then customize lessons to meet these objectives. Private Pickleball lessons are available for youth and adults who are beginners to the sport or those who have been playing at a higher level. Lessons are one hour in length and can accommodate one to four people.

The 101 class will cover safety, court terminology, types of shots, rules, scoring and how to play doubles. This clinic is perfect for those who have never played or are just starting out and want to learn the basics.

The 202 class will cover strategy, court movement, shot selections, proper ball placement and advanced shots such as cross court dinking and 3rd shot drops. This clinic is perfect for those who are currently playing the game regularly.
