New Leaf Metabolic Testing at the J

Receive the most advanced, individual and available workout!

Exercise Metabolic Testing What is it? Everyone responds to exercise differently. Active metabolic testing measures how effectively your body uses oxygen and tells us when you’re burning fat, not sugar. This is the key to determining how hard and how long you need to work out. At the end of the test, you have a completely customized cardio workout plan that is both efficient and effective. No guessing! Further details • The test takes about 15 minutes on a treadmill or bike • You will wear an oxygen mask (which is reusable and yours to keep for follow-up tests • You will be connected to a computer • At the conclusion of the test, a trainer will input your goals, review your results and deliver 12 weeks of customized cardio workouts • You can even receive your daily workout via email, every day.

Resting Metabolic Testing What is it? Resting metabolic testing allows for more insight into what an individual’s body needs, and how many calories need to be burned in order to attain goals of losing or gaining weight and maintaining normal body functions. Your true resting metabolic rate will be measured in determining what energy source is being used for your metabolism. Trainers are able to further customize and structure a training program, especially when combined with the exercise testing. Further details • Subjects will need to come to the test completely rested after a 10-12 hour fast • You will be placed in a quiet room wearing an oxygen mask for about 15 minutes • You will need to remain relaxed and calm and breathe normally, without falling asleep • A trainer will review your results and they can then be integrated in to your workout program for a better, more targeted workout How much? $139 – $199 Pay for your follow-up test early and save! Or add personal training and get started immediately!
