BEHIND THE LENS: A Mirror for the Sun Film Screening and Conversation with Neta Ariel Presented by Cleveland Israel Arts Connection

Jewish Federation of Cleveland Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Building 25701 Science Park Drive Screen “A Mirror for the Sun” followed by a Live Zoom conversation with Neta Ariel, the film’s director and aunt of Tamar Ariel. The documentary shares the inspirational story of Tamar Ariel who grew up in a religious home. Encouraged to follow her dreams, she joined the IDF air force, where she served as the first-ever Jewish Orthodox combat navigator. In 2014, she traveled to Nepal, where she found herself in a life and death struggle against the elements. Neta Ariel joined Ma’aleh as assistant director and academic director in 1995 and has been serving as the school’s director since 2001. She graduated in political science and theater studies at Hebrew University, Jerusalem. She also studied communications at Hebrew
University and directing and producing through the Open University program.
