Creed We Believe: That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise That government should be of laws rather than of men That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality And that service to humanity is the best work of life The JCI Mission To provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change. The JCI Vision To be the leading global network of young active citizens.

Editor’s Message Dear members, I am pleased to present Issue 3 of our 2017 newsletter. “With great power comes great responsibility.” ~ Benjamin “Ben” Parker (Spiderman) This quote has a simple meaning; if you have the ability to do something, make sure that you do it for the good of others. Highly admired people like Ghandi have done things that follow the spirit of this message. If you can stop something bad from happening, do it. You don’t have to be a superhero. It’s possible to do small actions that have a big impact in the world. Here at JCI we believe in positive changes. Not waiting for the change but to take action for that change. Choose to take action now! Use JCI as a platform for action. Think of ways that you can make our community and life better and start doing those things to put your plan into action, and remember that silence or non-action is not going to get your anywhere or anything. If these Goals are completed, it would mean an end to extreme poverty, inequality and climate change by 2030. Our governments have a plan to save our planet…it’s our job to make sure they stick to it. The Global Goals are only going to work if we fight for them and you can’t fight for your rights if you don’t know what they are. We believe the Goals are only going to be completed if we can make them famous.

Our Deepest Condolences

The chapter is saddened by the passing of our past president. In Year 1984 PP Chin was the organising chairperson for a Seminar: Urban Development Planning towards 2000 AD. The project raised RM30,000, which plays a crucial role in the purchase of the current Secretariat during his presidential year. Besides that, he signed the sisterhood pact agreement with JCI Luchu (Taiwan) in 1985.
