I am writing you this message with a very heavy heart. Words can't express how saddened I am to hear the loss of our leader JCI Senator Bharat Shahji. My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Bharat Kakaji during this sad time. I will always remember Bharat Kakaji fondly and have wonderful memories of times spent with him during all these years. He has always shown great love and support to me especially during Sparkle NATCON 2015 when I became National President. He leaves us with all the wonderful memories of his charming leadership as he always used to quote "The Show Must Go On" The true meaning of this quote, I am realizing now. How hard to carry the show but it must go on. Words are never adequate in moments like these. We will say though, that our hearts go out to you Kakaji and the JCI India family will always remember the joyous memories spent with you and your ability to take care of everyone. Your smiling face will always inspire us to move on in life. We will miss you. Once again on behalf of whole JCI India family, I would like to express our sincere condolences to the family of Bharat Kakaji and assure you that we all are always there for you‌.. "Om Shanti". Let's all Transform, Evolve and Progress by... Just Act & Inspire With Best Wishes JCI Senator Rajshree Bhaje 2016 National President - JCI India

Bharat Kaka, as he was known in Gujarat and across the JCI world, was not just an individual, but an institution by himself. He was instrumental in inspiring individuals, and impacted their lives positively. A visionary that he was, his advises and actions were always for the benefit of the organisation, as he had always put Organisation above Self. Though death is inevitable, it was with deep regret, pain and shock to receive the news of Bharat Kaka’s journey to the divine world on 21st May, 2016. No words could solace. It was a personal loss to me, and a void created for our organization, as there are no parallels when we look at the level of his commitment and loyalty towards the organisation. Bharatbhai was a master in the art of People Management. Such was his rapport with leaders and grass root members across the length and breadth of JCI India that even his most ardent political opponent loved him and would regret having lost a legend and a friend. Among the various life lessons he shared, I remember the following lines which are best motivating: Never think, you are NOTHING Never think, you are EVERYTHING. But always think, you are SOMETHING, And you can Achive ANYTHING. A selfless person, down to earth, an epitome of humility, he shall be remembered for his invaluable contributions to JCI India and Jaycees of Gujarat. He was a part of faculty team of Presidential Academy and Officer’s Training Seminar since almost two decades, and was instrumental in shaping LOM Presidents and officers for the organisation, and also served as a member of Administrative Committee. He believed in planning and would discuss strategies. Politics was his pet subject, and he could read people like a book. He always said that we must change with time, and had a futuristic vision. He himself adapted to the changing world by being active on Facebook and Wattsapp. He always believed that you have not failed until you decide to give up. The last 20 days of his life, he fought Blood Cancer valiantly like a warrior. He was kept in isolations, but kept sharing his vision to write a book “Ni:ShabdaSamvad, EkJadu” (Silent Expressions – A magic) on Positive thinking and of hosting OTS in 2016. I literally go into a flashback mode, visualising my various interactions with him since 2006, when I became the LOM President. When I was in crisis and confused in 2014, he had told me “Always listen to your heart. It may be on the left, but it is ALWAYS RIGHT”. He had a special place for me in his heart, and he will live forever in mine. I can very well vouch to say “Whatever I am in life, I am because of JCI, and whatever I am in JCI, is because of Bharatkaka”. JCI Sen.

SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION TO THE SOCIETY Eco friendly Bus Waiting shed Project by JCI Calicut, Zone XXI
About 50 tyres were used for the boarder walls of the shed and adjacent plot, and about 1000 bottles filled with the sand were used for the compound wall. Created a beautiful lawn in the premises with brick walk ways and tree saplings planted in the lines.
JCI INDIA ZONE 21 was formed in the year 1999.Since then Zone 21 has proven to be one of the outstanding Zone of JCI India. Project wise too various LOMS have come forward with outstanding and innovative programs. JCI Calicut is one such superlative LOM which is into its 51st year which has come up with an unique project “Eco friendly Bus Waiting shed
Treated bamboo poles were used for lamp posts and solar lamps are put up. Some hollow bricks and brick of old waiting shed also used for the reconstruction. The tyres and bottles were painted with beautiful colours to make it attractive. Now it is one of the beautiful and eco friendly junction in the city.
What to do with old plastic bottles, tyres and scraps...? How to dispose it off....? It is a burning question. Thought in different ways, it always gives wonderful answers. The team of JCI CALICUT under the able leadership of Jc Ayna Tamton, President of JCI Calicut materialized such a wonderful dream. A bus waiting shed beautifully reconstructed using thrown away plastic bottles, old tyres and scrap materials. The waiting shed of the Bus stop which is in the middle of the city, is daily used by hundreds of passengers was in a dilapidated state for last few years. JCI Calicut undertook the courage to reconstruct the waiting shed. When they decided to reconstruct it, the thought how to do it differently and aesthetically came up before the chapter members.
On 14th May 2016 National President of JCI India Senator Rajshri Bhaje,in the presence of zone president JCI senator Afsal Babu and zvp JFM Abdussalam Achath submitted the bus stop to the people of the city. Press club Calicut, Kalyan Kendra, Calicut also co operated with the project. The team behind the project, Jc Ayna Tamton, President, JCI Calicut, JC Rakesh Menon, Secretary, JC Siju Ignatious, Project Director, Jc George, Jc Mary Lincy, Past President JC Sajal Mohammed unanimously says this is one of the most enjoyed and ever memorable project of JCI Calicut.
The creative ideas contributed by the leaders and members of the chapter was to re create the waiting shed by thrown away scrap materials. This idea was to give multi way support to the nature. On One side, it was to give a beautiful bus shelter to the public. On the Other side, it supports the nature by effective re using of old plastic bottles, tyres etc. on the same time an answer to a critical ecological question. This model put forward an effective and sustainable solution to the hazard of plastic and other non degradable materials. When the idea was adopted, members themselves came forward to collect old tyres, bottles and other materials from their own houses and their friends'. Within a few days they could collect sufficient materials for the project. May 2016
