Let’s cut straight to the point….. Other candidates may try to win over your vote with their popularity, but ask yourself, are they really the right person to bring real change to students at Edge Hill? I know that I am that person. And here’s a few of things I promise to change for you if you elect me.
• Electronic timetable displays in the foyer of every academic building on campus. • Typed feedback and one to ones for assessments. • Continuing development and improvement of the course rep system. • SMS text service informing students of lecture changes e.t.c. • Timetable info available at least 4 weeks before start of each semester. • 24 hour library access. • Longer catering opening hours
Every single student studying at Edge Hill deserves the very best quality possible in every service the University provides. And with fees going up to anything from £6,000 to £9,000 students will need to be shown that the increased money they’ll be paying in fees will make a significant difference in the quality of their learning experience. This year is the perfect year for the University to show its current students what it is capable of offering, and at the same time showing all prospective students what the University can offer them for the years to come. As a Students’ Union we can have great influence over how the University can look to improve services for all its students.
So why vote for me over the other candidates? To start simply enough, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. Looking back at what we’ve helped achieve in the past 12 months speaks volumes for what can be achieved again next year. Why risk electing a new inexperienced candidate, when you could elect a proven pro active and experienced vice president, who already has solid contacts with key University staff, as well a good bank of knowledge about many aspects of the institution and how it works behind the scenes. Electing me means your Students’ Union would start the New Year with the advantage of not having to teach the ropes to a new vice president, and build up relationships with various University departments and key senior members of staff all over again. With me the links are already there, the experience is already there, the Knowledge of how the University works is already there. But most importantly of all, voting for me is voting for another year of action on your behalf. Campaigning at the highest levels within the University, and getting the change that you deserve as a result. I have the confidence and the ability to take issues to the very top level, and make sure that The University hears the strongest possible case for change, in every issue that affects students at Edge Hill. I haven’t let you down this year, and I won’t let you down next year.

Extended library hours. University commitment to improving assessment and feedback. Improved course rep system with over 600 course reps across Edge Hill. University commitment to resolving several safety and security concerns on campus. Greater variety of food in catering services on campus

It’s about electing a team of people whose combined efforts will see this Union strive even further to achieve all it can for its students, and leave lasting positive effects that will not just benefit students next year, but for years and years to come. Keep a look out on posters and manifesto’s of other candidates, who like me, believe in the bigger picture, that it takes more than one person to run a Students’ Union. We are the pieces that fit together, and will continue make this Students’ Union a great Students’ Union.
