4 HOSPITALITY

BLITZED HOSTEL

Blitzed

THE NEW HOSTEL Category: Hospitality Timeline: Four Weeks Date: Fall 2015 Programs: AutoCAD, Sketchup, Illustrator, Photoshop

The kinds of people who would thrive in a hostel environment are those who are open to learning about other cultures, as well as creative types such as artists, writers and chefs who work in professions that “transcend all boundaries.”

CONCEPT LOCATION Counter Culture movement of the 1960’s SoHo, London, UK

DESCRIPTION Blitzed Hostel’s motto is “Eat, Sleep, Drink, Connect.” The Hostel is joined by a neighboring club/bar and offers a multitude of features for young people to explore the city and make new connections with travelers from all around the world.

The counter-culture movement in the sixties was all about being care-free, happy, and connected. “Hippies” with a desire to discover, soul search, and diversify, as well as the high-class, yearning to experience the grand thrill of flying, led to a massive growth in travels. Traveling in the sixties was an extraordinary experience. The “wanderlust gene” had caught on and people were on the move and ready to experience life in a whole new way. The atmosphere of travel in the sixties directly parallels with the philosophy of the Blitzed Hostel and Connections., located in Soho, London. This hostel and club promotes merging of different cultures, personal growth, and enjoyment of life to the fullest.
