Saint Joseph Parish / Mission San JosĂŠ is a Spanish mission located in the present-day city of Fremont, California. It was founded on June 11, 1797, by the Franciscan order and was the fourteenth Spanish mission established in California. In 1985, the restoration of the church was completed by the Committee for the Restoration of the Mission San Jose and the Catholic Diocese of Oakland. It is considered to be a near-perfect replica of the original church, though it incorporates a concealed structural steel frame which provides earthquake resistance.

Pattern Exercise 8

3D Cube Exercise & Trellis Exercise ●

These exercises are about learning COMPONENT and GROUP.

Through the exercises of 3D Cube, Trellis & Patterns, we used the function of “Copy Move” and learned difference of Component and Group, which we should apply them to our future projects.

Some patterns are complicated and could not be able to implemented within short period.

If I have another chance to do them again, I will do more drills of basic pattern before I move on to complicated patterns.

Tiny House Prototype 10

Taped Floor Plan 1111

Originally the Tiny House was a two-story flat roof tiny house which has an external stairs lead to the front door on the second story. It has a reverse floor plan which has living area on 2nd floor while bedroom and bathroom on the bottom floor. The huge two story glass window gives the house plenty of light to overcome the small living space. The roof top garden adds enjoyment of yard when lot is limited to the house size. The operable skylight window gives more light to the house. 12

Then the Tiny House was re-design to a one story box type tiny house. Inside It has huge ceiling in the living/kitchen area and split to 2 stories at the back. This will create a nice two-story area with bedroom on top floor and bathroom at the bottom. With door opening in the middle it creates a nice L-shape for the living area.

Tiny House Project ●

● ●

● ●

The Tiny House Project provided me the opportunity to learn details of how to use most useful tools of Sketchup to create the plans, sections, elevations generate/export files to be use in the future. I also learned the basic of software Layout to generate a nice plan to incorporate the files/document from Sketchup. It is very nice to have this project not only give me the opportunity to practice from design to implement it to a plan for presentation, it also provided me opportunity to work with group people. I also did presentation in front of group people which also improve my presentation skills. Since I didn’t have enough practice yet to manipulate the tools of Sketchup, so the details of the plan is limited to the skills I have to implement it. If I were to do the project again in the future, I will focus on the managing grouping of each individual part of the house, organising the structure of the layout, and explore more of the tools and functions, instead of paying too much attention on how to create a “Best” tiny house in the world.
