from your lieutenant governor Hi Division 32, Happy Holiday season! Whatever you celebrate, I hope you enjoy any festivities, spend time with your family, and stay safe and warm this December. In my opinion, this month is one of the best to volunteer in. There are families in need in our community that would appreciate a little help this month— be sure to donate to a drive, volunteer with others, and more. Save the date— on January 30th, Seattle-Area Key Club will be hosting a dance to benefit the Eliminate Project. It will take place at Woodinville High School— be on the lookout for more details! Lastly, don’t forget to submit t-shirt designs and any new cheer ideas. Let’s make our appearance at the 66th Annual District Convention a spectacular one! Once again, stay safe and warm this holiday season. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.

In love and service,

Jenny Feng 4

As the Division 32 DRAGONS, we make everything hot and TOASTY with our FIRE! How do we add this fire? By being exemplary Key Clubbers— by saving babies, by growing our clubs, by connecting with our K-Family, by promoting Key Club!

If we earn 1000 points by DCON, the Lieutenant Governor will be subject to “punishment”, and the division will get some kind of reward. (the specifics of that are to be decided later!) Additional ways to earn points may be added on along the way. NOVEMBER: 431 POINTS 20 points: DCM attendance 15 points: Reports, late but all 100 points: Early Bird dues (Kentwood and Kentlake, confirmed) 6 points: Kiwanis Meetings 290 points: Fundraising OCTOBER: 291 POINTS SEPTEMBER: 85 POINTS

14

HOW TO EARN POINTS: For every member that pays dues above the total member count your club had last year, 1 point For every meeting with above 50% member attendance, 5 points For every DCM with at least 25 attendees, 10 points For every DCM with at least 35 attendees, 20 points For every $10 raised for the Eliminate Project, 1 point For every $10 raised for a preferred charity, 1 point For every Kiwanis meeting attended by any member or officer, 3 points For any month that every secretary submits their report on time, 30 points (Late but all = 5 points) For any month that every president submits their report on time, 30 points (Late but all = 5 points) For any month that every vice-president submits their report on time, 30 points (Late but all = 5 points) For every non-Key Clubber friend you bring to a DCM, 5 points For every club that submits Early Bird dues, 50 points

WHAT IS DISTRICT CONVENTION? District Convention, or DCON for short, marks the end of a Key Club term and the beginning of a new one. In 2015, DCON will take place at the Washington State Convention Center from March 13th-March 15th. Each year, the Pacific Northwest District gets together to celebrate the year of service, elect the new executive district board, meet other Key Clubbers all around the PNW, and learn about new service opportunities. Interested? Intrigued? Confused? Contact Convention Chair Cleo Tsang with any questions you have!

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) is a nonprofit organization that raises money to benefit hospitalized kids while increasing awareness of its member hospitals. Key Club participates with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals by sponsoring fundraising events. Key Club members also participate in service projects at their local children’s hospital. The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Key Club members raise thousands of dollars annually through various programs, including collecting change and taking part in March of Dimes’ signature event, March for Babies. Since 1994, Key Club has been Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF and over the years has raised nearly US$5 million for iodine deficiency programs worldwide and HIV and AIDS programs in Kenya and Swaziland. Now it’s helping The Eliminate Project.
