Welcome to the penultimate newsletter! As District Convention and the end of the current Key Club term approach, take a moment to reflect back on the progress we have made. Think of how much your club has accomplished, how much our division has accomplished, how much PNW has accomplished, how much Key Club International has accomplished— and most importantly, how much you have grown as a servant-leader. Just remember: District Convention marks an end; but also a beginning.

from your lieutenant governor Hola Dragons! Happy February! Love is in the air. In a way, Key Club is about love. Service, is in fact, an act of love. We express our love through service to our homes, schools, and communities. And of course, caring is our way of life and we love each other. That being said, I’d like to take a moment to tell you how much I love you all. Your passion and your dedication to Key Club are inspiring, and each and every one of you motivate me to serve. The memories I have made with our wonderful division in the past four years are memories I will never forget. Dragons, you are undoubtedly the reason we are the greatest division in the Pacific Northwest District. We as a division have accomplished so much this year, increasing both membership and DCON attendees. We’ve reached heights in our contributions to the Eliminate Project, especially through TOTFU. And we dominated Seattle Rally, winning the spirit stick. I can’t wait to see how many awards you all will rightfully earn at District Convention this year! The end of the term approaches, but I hope that you will all continue to spread your love as a Key Clubber with caring and inclusiveness. Whether you are a freshman eager to level up in service or a senior ready to retire from Key Club, remember that service never ends. With or without a position in Key Club, you have the ability to make a difference in others’ lives. Even when I retire, I’m still here for you if you need anything. We will be having two DCMs this month. One will be an ice skating fundraiser at SnoKing. Another will be Dragon Wings at the Fairwood Library. Our March DCM will be Pre-Con at Kentridge. For more info, please refer to pages 12 –14. Remember that Pre-Con is mandatory for District Convention attendees. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

In love and service,

Jenny Feng 4

Lieutenant Governor of Division 32 Pacific Northwest District of Key Club International Fengjenny.ltg32@gmail.com 425-444-4963

MEET YOUR 2015-16 LTG

Anything is possible! Because with every accomplishment, starts with the decision to try. Key Club took a try and that changed my life. I am surrounded by the passion of service that has influenced me to grow into a leader in the PNW District. My name is Kim Anh Tran and I will be the Lieutenant Governor of Division 32 from 2015-2016. I am so excited to be part of the amazing Key Club board for this year! I enjoy laughing and smiling all day, while I clumsily eat chocolate with my buddies. I play the piano and also tennis, but most importantly Art and Crafts are so much more fun. I love the beautiful outdoors when I get the chance to go hiking, camping, and traveling. I want to see more of this beautiful world, and more of caring, our way of life!

-Kim Anh Tran, 2015-2016 Division 32 Lieutenant Governor

FORGOTTEN CHILDREN’S FUND

“The Forgotten Children's Fund was an eye opener to me. It helped me realized how anyone can help those in need as long as they have the motivation. The venue for the area was a little different than I originally imagined; not the fantasy "Santa's Workshop" everyone thinks of. But none of it mattered because all the people there were helping the less fortunate families receive actual presents. These presents weren't only for their own personal enjoyment, but also items that allow them to continue making a living. It hit me that many families are in need, and the little things that our community does for those in need make a serious impact to their lives.” -ANTHONY NGUYEN, KENTRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL

As the Division 32 DRAGONS, we make everything hot and TOASTY with our FIRE! How do we add this fire? By being exemplary Key Clubbers— by saving babies, by growing our clubs, by connecting with our K-Family, by promoting Key Club!

THE TOAST HAS BEEN TOASTED!!!

Expect a special treat from me at Kim’s April DCM. Thanks for being EXEMPLARY Key Clubbers!!!

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) is a nonprofit organization that raises money to benefit hospitalized kids while increasing awareness of its member hospitals. Key Club participates with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals by sponsoring fundraising events. Key Club members also participate in service projects at their local children’s hospital. The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Key Club members raise thousands of dollars annually through various programs, including collecting change and taking part in March of Dimes’ signature event, March for Babies. Since 1994, Key Club has been Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF and over the years has raised nearly US$5 million for iodine deficiency programs worldwide and HIV and AIDS programs in Kenya and Swaziland. Now it’s helping The Eliminate Project.
