How did the name LIE come about ? Is there a story behind it? It was started as a personal project called ‘Little Ideas Everyday’, which is a compilation of my daily practices and rejected ideas. I was then realised it’s also an acronym for LIE and I think it’s a pretty cool name for a design studio.

What is the work culture in LIE? Since it’s just a small studio, we works pretty close to each other and everyone comes on board as a friend. This is something I really like about my previous work place and wanted to carry forward. I hope everyone working in the studio is happy and consistently produce something they are proud of.

Would you say LIE has a signature style? What would the approach be? Bold and Fresh maybe? We would rather not sticking to a certain design style but continuously evolve and experiment on something new in order to find out the best way to deliver the message. After all, the idea always come first.

Which project is your proudest project? Why? The next project. I bet.

Which is your most difficult project? Why? We were once dealing with a big client and required a lot of meeting, meeting and meetings. It was such a disaster at that time since we don’t have a project manager in the team, we couldn’t allocate sufficient time for meeting and designing at the same time. Nowadays we prefer to work with smaller company so that we can have comfortable and manageable timeline in order to keep the quality in works.

Where does LIE see themselves in the next 5 years? Hopefully we’ll be more financially stable by then so that we can afford to do more initiative, community projects to contribute back to the society and of course doing more educational projects for the young generation in the design industry too.

If LIE have a few projects running together, how would LIE cater to all of the projects? Normally in the studio each designer is assigned to 2-3 projects at the same time, when it comes to a bigger one we will all work together as a team. Sometimes when the jobs get too cluttered we will hire freelancer to help out too.
