The Chora l Club of Monroe and West Monroe is a elub recently d eveloped by the Consel'va lory of Music for the purpose of rendering vari ous choral works tha t mi gh t not olherwlse be enjoyed by the tw o cities. Its membership is composed of members 01 the faculty a nd student body a nd resid en ts of the community who are interested In the common cause of furth ering good choral mus ic.

"The Holy City," by Alfred R. Gaul, was presented by the club in the college audi 足 loriwn on May 24, 1932, and was a cclaim ~ d a ph enom enal s uccess. Th e second concert was given on J a nna ry 10, 1933. and consisted of two ca.ntatas . "The Pil grims of 1620:' by E. S. Hos mer, a nd "P a,ul Rever e's Ride," by Carl Busch. Thi s program also was enthusiastically received . On May 9, 1933, another most delighLCul pl'ogTam was rendered by th e club. Professor R. C. In 1928 she was co -h older of the

North Louisiana doubles championship with Kent Mil1saps , now of Louisiana State Univer·sity. During· t h e same year with her brothe r as a partner, sh ~ won the mix ed doubles champi onsh ip o f the state a t the Ba ton R.ouge rally. The foll o wing year sh·'! and her partne r repea ted their c laim to the Nor Lh LouiSiana do ubles crown a nd won second p lace at the state r a lly. At the 1929 rally at Ruston s he won her first sing·Ies t itle whe n she copped the championship a nd then took second place at the state m eet. India Stubbs of our own club became Ken­ ne dy's partner in the doubles conquest in 1930 and toge ther they easily won the North Lou­ isia.na title, making it t hree straig·ht for Kennedy. They were runne r-ups at Baton Rouge that sante year. Kennedy won the singles championshi p for a second time in 1930. Enteri ng the s tate meet th e sam e year, she was acclaimed the o utstanding contender of t he m eet but be­ cause of illness was forced to for­ Ieit the ch ampionship of t..he state.
