Sad to say, I put the snowmobile away last month. I tucked it away in a corner of the garage, right by my skis. I still have my back country pack hanging in the living room, but I am sure Michelle will make me store that away in a closet soon too . The end of the snow season. But wait! I broke out the dirt bike and in no time was able to find enough snow to bury it and have to turn around at the top of Mission Ridge under a Blue Bird sky.

Stopped cold so to speak, just before the first microwave tower on Mission ridge coming up Coleman Canyon.
I love our valley and the variety of outdoor opportunities that exist just minutes from the front door. Not too many places can you go from 80 degrees to 10 feet of snow in under a half hour (Yes I travel quick by bike). And it sure beats worrying about the fact that I need to get the darn garden planted before I run out of time and it starts snowing again. And for the rest of you, stop pulling weeds and get out and play!!

You’re Invited to Our 69th Anniversary Party!!
Responsibility Vs Privilege Of Owning a Business
My grandparents, Don & Irene Williams, opened the doors of Jerrol’s for the VERY first time 68 years ago—June 21, 1947. We were named Jerrol’s Handy Stop at that time. The same 18’ neon sign that is over our doors today was on top of that first building and is as long as the original store was wide!
I grew up in a family business. By the time I started working here, Jerrol’s had been around for 30 plus years. I never thought of Jerrol’s as a privilege. I was taught by my parents that owning a business is a responsibility.
FREE Scoops of Ice Cream Just For Stopping In! “Grandpa Don’s Root Beer Float” Tuesday, June 21st In the early days we were a soda fountain. Don and Irene offered cold food selections like pie and sandwiches, as well as magazines and other “sundry items”. Of all the dessert items that were offered, Grandpa liked root beer floats the best. The gang at Winegar’s Home Made Ice Cream & Coffee has, once again, mixed up a batch of our limited edition, “Grandpa Don’s Root Beer Float” ice cream just for you as a tribute to Grandpa Don. We are offering you a FREE scoop at our Anniversary Party, Tuesday, June 21st from 8am to 8pm . We will even use the same ice cream scoop Grandpa Don used. All of our history and photos can be found online including a video history tour of the store at

TWO FREE QUARTS of Ice Cream
I believe how I conduct myself and run Jerrol’s is a direct reflection on my grandparents, Don & Irene Williams, who started Jerrol’s in their front yard in 1947. That is where the stop sign is now in the corner of our East parking lot at C St & University Way. My conduct also represents my respect for my parents, Jerry and Annette, and all the people who have worked for and patronized Jerrol’s. They created and supported the legacy with which I have been entrusted. This line of thought has served me well. It makes me think through decisions and ingrains the desire to have world class customer service into every fiber of my body. How could we do anything less? When I think of how hard everyone has worked to create Jerrol’s, and the sacrifices they made to grow this business that has spanned three generations - and 69 years - I am grateful and humble. One way I’ve shown my respect to our legacy was by co-writing a book on our history with my dad and grandfather. The fourth edition will be out by our anniversary on Tuesday, June 21st. It has a new cover design and interior graphic layout, contains more past team members and a new chapter on our recent expansion. You can read an excerpt of the updates at TheBook.Jerrols.com

Erin’s First Month on the Business Team When I transferred to the business team here at Jerrol’s at the beginning of May, I thought I was going to go out into local businesses and sell them office products. After a short few weeks I have learned that selling office products has very little to do with my job.
Erin Heen is out and about helping our Business Clients
I have worked at Jerrol’s since December 2013. I didn’t think it would be long term or grow into a career, but why not? Being in the store for 2 years, I have had the chance to get to know and help so many people. I love people; talking with them; learning about them and their personalities; and, most of all, helping them. Why not go out and meet new clients, help new and already existing businesses and get to see so many of the same faces I have been seeing at Jerrol’s the last 2 years? This is the perfect job for me! I have met over thirty people on my visits to business, and no two people are the same. No two business are either. I knew this before, but being in contact with so many different kinds of people and businesses has proven this to be 100% true. Each client has a different combination of needs, wants, and problems. Some want higher quality items, others need more economical options. Some really want to shop from people they know and trust. Everyone wants a fair price. My job is not to sell them products and services, but to uncover needs, wants, and problems that I can help with. I am finding out that my job is to ask questions, lots of questions; to find out how I can help. Every time I walk into a business, I have an objective– To learn how we might be able to help them. How do I accomplish this? How do I get a person I hardly know or have just met to trust not only me, but also Jerrol’s, our Team, the service, and the products? I ask questions, read body language, and learn my client’s personality. I am learning that to provide someone with office supplies, janitorial supplies, and custom printing its not about the products, but the people.

More News from The Team Robin Maurer will be leaving our Team after 6 plus years with us. She has been greeting you every weekday morning since 2010. She will be moving to Super One in order to secure healthcare benefits for her family. We know it was a very difficult decision and understand, with medical costs ever increasing, her need to make this decision. We will miss her laugh, the fact that she knows everyone in town by their first name, and her skills creating wonderful displays. Her daughter, Jenna, has already secured the family an invite to our Christmas party so she can play our mystery present game. Be sure to stop by to wish her well. And remember all you have to do is shop at Super One and you’ll still have a chance to see her. _____________________
