April is Autism Awareness, Acceptance and Appreciation Month The sign over our entrance door in the lobby reads “We’ve Been Touched By Autism”
This doesn't just apply to me & my family, but to our entire Jerrol’s Team. For some of us, we are touched by Autism as parents, siblings or family members. For others, it is being on the Autism Spectrum themselves. For everyone else, it’s being a co-worker and a friend. We are a small rural area with few of the options available in larger areas, such as Spokane or Seattle. Providers are limited and employment options are limited. Access to training and medical care often force people to travel to the Westside. At the same time we do have amazing resources like Sprit Therapeutic Riding Center, Trellis, Elmview, Entrust, Parent to Parent, our local school system, our local Developmental Disabilities Administration office, Special Olympics Swimming (and more), and all the people inside and outside of these organizations who have dedicated their careers to help us. Thursday, April 28th, from 6-8pm, Jerrol’s will host the annual Autism in Our Community discussion in The Room at Jerrol’s. It will be focused on: life after school and the issues around employment, continuing education, personal supports, and housing. While we will focus on individuals on the spectrum, the topic really applies to anyone with special needs (and their families, friends etc) who want to know about the resources available after graduation. It is open to the public and I invite you to attend.

Spring 2016 Wildcat Welcome Back Party CWU Students & Faculty
Thursday, April 7th
Interior Update This month the interior wall panel to the south of our main entrance will be removed and the dry wall taped, textured and painted. The paneling was put up by my Dad, Jerry Williams, in 1984 when Jerrol’s underwent it’s sixth expansion from 5,000 sq ft to 10,000. Once that is complete, the area will become the new home of our Remote Control parts and accessories. Please excuse the mess while we update this section of the store!! This month you will find six new Remote Control Boats have been added to the RC selection.
9pm to 10:30pm The Spring 2016 Welcome Back Party for CWU Students and Faculty is a new event that is held at the start of Fall, Winter and Spring quarter. It is our way of welcoming everyone back to campus and to have a little fun before the homework and tests start piling up. This time around you will find the following-
Chamber of Commerce Coffee Club March 2016

We hosted the Chamber’s March Coffee Club in The Room. It was the first time I can remember a Chamber meet and greet event being held at Jerrol’s. In the past there just wasn’t any space. Now with The Room we are able to host such events. Over 50 people attended representing our Business clients like Anderson Hay, Knudson Lumber, Court Advocates for Children, and The Gym (just renamed Maximus Gym) and lots of Chamber Members. You can host your own Chamber Coffee Club the first Friday of the month by contacting Jessica Tate at Jessica@KittitasCountyChamber.com

I couldn't resist trying this out when I saw it on Pinterest. Theirs was done with a date stamp (which I do not have), but it really doesn't matter what the stamp says or what color! I started by cutting my butcher paper into 2ft sections (much more manageable that way). Using my pencil I drew some simple shapes: a British flag= a cross and an x, I traced an oval tray & some round plates from my kitchen and I just eyeballed the checkerboard pattern. Now for the fun part... Stamp away. (I did try this with a stamp and stamp pad but it was SO much easier with the self inking stamps) You'll get the hang of it pretty quickly, sometimes it goes where you want it and sometimes it doesn't, but it's all part of the charm. Have fun and be creative!! And what exactly do you do with these beauties when you're done??? The most obvious would be wrapping paper, but how about a book cover or even framing it for your wall! Whatever you decide...enjoy! You can reach Corrie at Corrie@Jerrols.com

-Heather Hunholz - Rewards Member “I love Jerrol’s. The customer service is out of this world! -Jessica Tate - Rewards Member “This experience was a great one! I literally do not find service this good hardly anywhere anymore. I never write reviews like this either, unless the service is outstanding! PLUS, Jerrol's has a way better selection then I once thought and I will be making Jerrol's a regular stop on my shopping trips. Great craft selection, kids books, and school supplies!
-Jennifer Kenworthy - Rewards Member - Google Reviews I was promptly greeted by a friendly cashier when I entered the store. I was given room to browse through the store, looking for items to purchase, but was also asked if I needed help finding anything. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable!
