I am a simple sort of guy. Of all the things about Christmas and the Holidays, by far my favorite is the tradition of going up in the hills and cutting our tree. I started doing this with my mom and dad. Michelle and I have continued that tradition with our family since we first got married, 28 years ago. There is just something so basic about tromping around in the woods debating the merits of one tree verses another while freezing. You spot that perfect tree only to find it is 30 feet tall, or missing the three sides you couldn’t see from where you were standing. And there is always the discussion on what type of tree to get this year, Ponderosa, Lodge Pole, White Pine… One thing we all agree on is that Tamarac's seem a little sparse to use this time of year!! Eventually everyone compromises so we can whack it down, haul it gosh knows how far back to the truck, and get on to making a fire and having some snacks and hot chocolate. We stand around thinking that we found the best tree ever (Well except for the one year we ended up with the ultimate Charlie Brown tree). -Rolf P.S. Rolf’s Book Gift Tip-

Corrie’s Craft of the Month

Once Upon A Time In Russia:

Cardboard Window Art

The Rise of the Oligarchs a True Story of Ambition, Wealth, Betrayal, and Murder Ben Mezrich $28.00 I read this in less than a week. The first line in the book is a Russian ProverbA good man, maybe. But it’s best to shoot him. How can you go wrong with a book that starts like that!!!

So this month I thought I'd show you how to make cardboard into a lovely piece of artwork for your living room! All you need is: a 12 year old boy, a window, a dog, a tennis ball, and CRACK! Perfect, now cover the window with cardboard and duct tape, and wala, your canvas is ready. I used a black sharpie, but there are so many options for making your artwork a true piece of art!

It is an edge-of-your-seat true account of Russia’s postcommunist era 1994-2013. It is the story of the rise of Putin, the Oligarchs and capitalism in Russia. The perfect book for any history buffs, murder mystery fans or spy thrillers. _______________________________________________

(You COULD just buy new glass but that would be a waste of money because the window is actually very old so you might as well replace the whole thing. But that would look funny because there's an identical window right next to it that would no longer match, so you might as well replace that one too. And, dang, the house IS 100 years old so you should probably just replace all the windows! There's only 22, I counted.) My artwork is dedicated to my amazing family, friends, and coworkers who have been incredibly gracious and kind while I took the month off after having surgery on my foot. - Cindy Gregory - Rewards Member “I've shopped at Jerrols almost as long as it has been in business. I've always found it responsive to what I need from finding the correct printer ink to ordering books to leading me to specific art materials. I don't know how they do it but they always have a pleasant knowledgeable staff. Way to go guys“

- Marianne Gordon - Rewards Member “During every visit I see your staff greet every customer. When asking for an item, rather than just point to where it is, they take the time to walk the customer to the item. Both of those behaviors demonstrate great customer service.”
