April is Autism Awareness, Acceptance and Appreciation Month The sign over our entrance door in the lobby reads “We’ve Been Touched By Autism”
______________________________ This doesn't just apply to me & my family, but to our entire Jerrol’s Team. For some of us, we are touched by Autism as parents, siblings or family members. For others, it is being on the Autism Spectrum themselves. For everyone else, it’s being a co-worker and a friend.
Our Core Values
1. Help 2. Improve 3. Diversity ______________________________

We are a small rural area with few of the options available in larger areas, such as Spokane or Seattle. Providers are limited and employment options are limited. Access to training and medical care often force people to travel to the Westside. At the same time we do have amazing resources like Sprit Therapeutic Riding Center, Trellis, Elmview, Entrust, Parent to Parent, our local school system, our local Developmental Disabilities Administration office, Special Olympics Swimming (and more), and all the people inside and outside of these organizations who have dedicated their careers to help us. Disabilities and Our Community Thursday, April 6th, from 6:30-8pm, Jerrol’s will host the annual Disabilities and Our Community discussion at Hal Holmes in the Ellensburg Room. It will be an open forum where we will discuss whatever topics the audience and panel are interested in exploring. While we will focus on individuals on the spectrum, the issues discussed really apply to anyone with special needs (and their families, friends etc) who live in Kittitas County or beyond. It is open to the public and I invite you to attend. -Rolf P.S. You can contact me any time at 509 925-9851 or 800 858-2427, my cell 509 899-0120, or email Rolf@Jerrols.com

Functional Junk Salvage
As everyone knows, minimum wage has gone up to $11.00, with more increases each year until $13.50, plus mandatory sick time added to that next year. This puts me in a position where I need to cut services, increase prices, or decrease expenses. While I have done a little of all of these, it has been our goal to keep our prices as reasonable as we can. And frankly, if you look at a book it has a price printed on it!! I decided that holding a line on prices would be the top priority. That left us with looking at other ways to reduce expenses. I appreciate your understanding as we adapt to the changes that are occurring due to the minimum wage increase. -Rolf
I just had an opportunity visit Jacque from Kundson Lumber who recently open a new store at 400 W 5th St. I am amazed at what she and her partners have created. They are specializing in reclaimed and repurposed furniture, industrial salvage, and funky finds. Really neat stuff! You can check them out on Facebook or stop by. They are open 10-6 everyday except Tuesday.

-James Kumm - Rewards Member “I walked in minutes before closing, and unlike a lot places I've been in, I didn't get the d" on't you know it's practically closing time"look. I was greeted by a very smiley Kendra who asked how she could help me, and very cheerfully did! Honestly, I don't think I've ever had a bad shopping experience in your store.”
