Get Ready For Future

Design Studio 4

This studio project is to conduct an in-depth analysis of a Singapore slice.

I have document down my site experiences by taking photos and making collages. To further figure out the more in-depth view of my slice, I even come out with a sunburst chart and device based on it.

After collecting all the information, I have turn it into a concept and transform it become my space. And I am asked to located it within my slice.

Corner of the Centre Fire Station and slight view of Philatelic Museum

Realise that is a fire station and some construction going on at the museum. Did not walk deeply and finish the walking due to dizziness cause by the sun and lack of water.

Funan Mall

A lot of people there walking around, the amount of people and vehicles also start increase. Look very busy there. The emission of the vehicle and the construction going on seem to make the weather hotter.

Padang Field

Some renovation is carried out at the end of the field. There are also some sport area that

Esplanade Park

Only Smokers. Super quiet and peaceful place. A lot of greenery. Seem like a abandon corner during working day. Only workers coming here for a lunch break.

Supreme Court

There is small road and a lot of lorry and truck there are loading and unloading items. There is also a waste dispose area. Except for the drivers there are working, resting or smoking, there is not much passerbys due to the smoky hot feelings.

National Gallery

Chilling feeling due to the leak of air-conditioning from the openings of national gallery. More office workers and visitors started appear. Before seeing all the people, the sound of the construction come to my ears first.

“Hot and cold feeling kept changing while i am walking through my slide. The amount or density of greenery and vehicles are affecting the temperature. Amount of people also kept changing based on the prosperity degree or the amount of event. Business or museum area tends to have more people there while park and fort canning have lesser people. “ -- summaries of my findings after few site visitings

Designed to be a half enclosed device that help to advanced sound and sight experiences.

The panel will help to remove the unnecessary items and distrastive objects in my slice. But instead of deafen the sound that is far far away, it enlarge my sound and let me hard to listen to the sound nearby.

The device is too bunky and hot, it will cause dizziness and inconvenient while walking which lead to safety issue.

Designed to be more sensitive about the sound through the earmuffs structure. Make it more lighter and more convenient to wear and changing the panels.

The device will deafen the sound that far far away from my slide. The device also could capture the wind movement while it hit my device.

The device is light and convenient but still have one problem, how to capture. Not possible to take out and wear up every time as no one was helping when i capturing all these data.

Designed to be more easy to take photo and while the same time easy to remove while no need. Remove the hearing part as it does not help to collect useful data.

With this panel that ties on my hand, i could be able to capture and look at it anytime i want. Do not need to worry about my safety issues anymore. It successfully help me to identify the right things and block the unnecessary items away. Successfully capture the scene that i wanted too. Make my life easier and easy to take photo.

Can see there is a high contrast in the images collected through seeing through all these stripes. Also highlight certain objects in the space that we normally won't notice.

HODEF

DESIGN STUDIO 3

This studio project is to break our preconceived idea.

We are given two keywords. And with that, we had to come out a video based on the keywords and capture 10 scenes from it. Match this 10 images together and draw over it. And that have become lines of our plan. Using our imagination, I am able to draw out section and build a model out it. And......

The instruction given here is unpredictable which oftens challenge and expand our thinking.

Thes collages are scenes from a video that we made according to individual two keywords which is conquer and maximise. Then we are tasked to convert the collages into a detailed drawing which then turn into our plan.

Then we are tasked to draw out the section to be as imaginative as we can based the plan we produced previously.

With that, I have come out with some mock up models.

From the previous mock up model, we are tasked to spot some interesting joint lines within it. And convert it into 3 lines thata together. And using our imaginative to turn it into drawings and models.

Then we are tasked to make two model that can join togther with each other.

With this, we have to challenge ourselves to create a space by only using these two forms.

We are given a company to research with and come out with a solution by using it strengths and weaknesses.

My space are aims to increase income of people during pandemic with the cooperation with a application that i designed for people to sell their handmade dessert online.

Through my application, people who like to bake can sell their products here for people to buy. For those who dont know how to bake can also earn through help the sellers to deliver food to buyers.

An opening that acts as dining table for people to enjoy thier free food here.

A space that provide free tryout food for passbuyers. If they are interested to have more, they can scan the qr code on wall and download the application to purchase.

The living room is designed specially to fix their needs for reading, eating, working and also a space to host their friends. They could sit around there and enjoy food and nexflix together.

Design a toilet that acts like a storybook background that can accept different kind of elements and color of items putting in. Children can buy and put whatever they like in the toilet without being scared to broke the theme of the toilet. After they grown up and no longer need to share the toilet with their parents, parents could change the new style and feeling of the toilet by changing the accessories inside.
