Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free I’m following the path God has laid you see. I took His hand when I heard him call I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and peace to thee God wanted me now; He set me free.

“God Saw You Were Getting Weary”

God saw you were getting weary So He did what He thought was best; He came and stood beside you, And whispered, “Come and Take Your Rest” You bade no one a last farewell, No, not even a good-bye; You were gone before we knew it, And only God knows why. God saw the road was getting rough, The hills were hard to climb; He gently closed those loving eyes, And whispered, “Peace be Thine” The weary hours, the days of pain The sleepless nights are passed; The ever present worn out frame, Has found “Sweet Rest At Last”

In God’s eternal home, Where there is no pain or sorrow; We hope to see your loving face, In that peaceful never-ending tomorrow.

Life’s Reflections

AndreLeSean Woods was born on July 10, 1990, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Peggie Ann Woods and Hurd Woods, Jr. On the morning of December 24, 2022, God dispatched an angel to pick a flower to adorn his heavenly garden and gathered Andre into his arms.

Andre has been a member of New Bethel Baptist Church since birth. At an early age, he confessed a belief in Christ at New Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Donald Ester, Sr., where he remained faithful until the Lord called him home. Andre loved singing and was a member of the Mass Choir and Praise Team, where he also served as one of the directors. He was also very active in the Youth Ministry and later served as an advisor and mentor. Andre was an active Praise Dancer for New Bethel’s Praise Dance Team. Andre also sang with Kevin Davidson and the Voices.

Andre attended Hanley Elementary School and went on to graduate from Kirby High School in 2009. He later attended Southwest Tennessee Community College and Southern Institute of Cosmetology. At his time of passing, he worked as a Prescanner/Scanner at Dealer Track Technologies.

To cherish his loving legacy, he leaves his Fur Baby: Ava LaTrice Woods; one sister: Anitra Ann (Loranzo) West of Memphis, Tennessee; two brothers: Deion Cortez Woods, Sr., of Memphis, Tennessee & Jonathan Maurice (Donna) Woods of Denver Colorado; one step-brother: Anthony Micheal Sleets of Denver, Colorado; two nephews: Antonio Jose Sleets of Denver, Colorado and Deion Cortez Woods, Jr., of Birmingham, Alabama; two nieces: Zoe Neveah’yah West and Sophie Michelle Maurasse of Memphis, Tennessee, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Andre Lesean Woods was proceeded in death by his twin sister: Andrea LaTrice “Tootie” Woods; one brother: Jarrie Lee Hurt; His Queen, His Mother: Peggy A. Woods; father: Hurd Woods, Jr.; and two grandmothers: Irene Batts and Amelia K. Faulkner-Woods.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
