Life’s Reflections
Billy Tim Williams II was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on February 19, 1951, to the late Billy Tim Williams and Gertie Bernice Campbell. He was the firstborn. He departed this life on July 6, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Collierville.
Billy was educated in the Memphis City School System and was a proud graduate of the Melrose High School Golden Wildcats class of 1968, in which he was a member of the band where he played the trombone. He was also voted the most loquacious in his class. After graduating from high school, he was one of the youngest managers to manage several shoe stores in Memphis before relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, and Dallas, Texas. He later returned to Memphis to manage Karl’s and Gus Myers shoe stores and several restaurants. Billy was a very outgoing and generous person who never met a stranger. He always made sure everyone around him was good. He had quite a flair at the bar-b-que grill and always looked forward to the grandkids coming over to taste. Billy loved his hat collection, the Denver Broncos, and his plants, and he had quite a green thumb.
Billy was baptized and placed his membership at the Boulevard Church of Christ in 1992. He was always willing to lend a helping hand for whatever was needed.
Billy was loyal to his job with the Memphis Shelby County School System for 23 years, during which he received many awards and accolades for his dedicated service until he retired from Central High School in June 2023.
Billy was united in marriage to the love of his life, Carolyn Smith Williams, who was always by his side for 28 years.
Billy was preceded in death by a son, Travis Williams, and a daughter, Kyna T. Green.
Billy leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Carolyn Smith Williams, two sons, Billy Tim Williams III (Tonya) of Tampa, Florida, and Byron Tilden Williams, daughters Deangelius Welch Williams, Dandreace Williams of Huntsville, AL, Dandria Williams, and Tara Smith, granddaughters Amber Harrington (Aaron), Asia Rounds, Patra Steele, Catelyn Martin, Tranesia Williams, and Kyna M. Green; grandsons; Brandon Williams, Kaleb Green, Patrick Steele, and DeMario Merritt II; great-grandkids, Christian, Amaya, Adam, Aaron Jr., Austin and Jaida Mora, brothers Wamon Buggs (Kathy) of Nashville, Tennessee and Rodney Williams and one sister Verneda King, two special aunts, Verneda Campbell Breathett and Elaine Campbell plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Recessional
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
herished CMemories
Just for a While
Your contagious laugh And beaming smile
Wish you could’ve stayed just for a while
But it’s okay because I know you’ll be fine
Now you’re just another angel of mine
You’re missed so much already
You could never be replaced
I can’t wait to catch up with you one day
Continue to watch over us
As we continue healing
Because none of us can shake this feeling
We love you granddaddy

His Journey Jusy Began
By Ellen Brenneman
Don’t think of him as gone away; his journey’s just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days or years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched... for nothing loved is ever lost, and he was loved so much.
