Life’s Reflections

M

rs. Brenda Joyce Rich, a cherished soul, was born on September 11, 1952, to the late Johnnie and Mattie Hoskins Archie in the vibrant city of Memphis, Tennessee. From an early age, Brenda embraced her faith, becoming a devoted member of the Olivet Fellowship Baptist Church, where she found strength and community.

Brenda’s commitment to education was evident throughout her life. She graduated with pride from Hamilton High School in 1970 and later served as a teacher’s assistant at Memphis City Schools, where her passion for nurturing young minds shone brightly.

In a beautiful chapter of her life, she met and married Mr. Donald Rich, Sr. Together, they welcomed their beloved son, Mr. Donald Rich, Jr., creating a family filled with love and laughter.

On Sunday, September 15, 2023, at 3:47 p.m., Brenda peacefully completed her earthly journey and was called home to be with our Lord and Savior.

Her spirit and love will forever remain in the hearts of her husband, Donald E. Rich, Sr., her son, Donald Rich, Jr., her sister, Linda Ernest Archie, her brother, John Archie, and her thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a treasured legacy of love, kindness, and faith, remembered by a host of cousins, church family, and friends who were touched by her warmth and generosity.

Brenda’s life was a testament to faith, family, and the enduring bonds of love. She will be deeply missed but her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Recessional

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Psalms 23
