Life’s Reflections
Cheryl
Jean Kimble made her grand debut into this world on August 9, 1958 to the late Otis C. Kimble and Celesta Jean Norman Kimble. Throughout her time here she was always a force to be reckoned with and the life of the party even until her final moments when she transitioned to eternal rest on January 23, 2025. She shedded that old robe and put on her new one laced in Gold.
Cheryl accepted Christ at an early age and continued her belief in the Lord throughout her life. She always had a saying, “I know a Man”… Cheryl graduated from Whitestation High School and continued on to attend college at the University of Alabama Birmingham. She lived a life full of love, strength, tenacity, and dedication. Over her lifespan, she poured into so many people and helped so many along their life journey, whether it was helping them with employment or teaching life lessons. She always had your back. She was a dedicated employee and pioneer in her career with the City of Memphis, which spanned over 40 years of service. Whenever asked, “What do you do for a living,” the answer was, “Tell other people what to do.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis C. Kimble and Celesta Jean Norman Kimble, a sister, Linda Kimble Norfleet, and two brothers, Daryl Kimble and Eric Kimble.
Cheryl leaves to continue her legacy her daughter Shantrail Morris-Britt (Derrick); five sisters: Cynthia Rucker (Jonathan) of Flowery Branch, GA, Bernita Poole of Memphis, TN, Brenda Mason (Jessie) of Collierville, TN, Sherita Hogan (Muhammad) of Meridian, MS, and Sherry Woods of Memphis, TN; three brothers: Kelvin Kimble, Jerome Kimble, and Rodney Kimble of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends whom she loved dearly.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
2 Timothy 4:7
